Lately, I felt Sally had eased up a lot around me. Sure, her carefree attitude was refreshing, but sometimes she still hesitated to talk with me for long.
Aside from her, my relationship with other classmates had also improved. Most of them still ignored me, but at least some of them weren't so wary of me anymore. I didn't expect us to be buddies that quickly, so I wasn't complaining. It felt exhilarating when someone appropriately replied to you and did not sneer in disdain when you talked to them.
The best part of all was how the daily harassment I usually got had ceased to happen. I assumed Halley and her friends always took the lead in this. After the last volleyball game, Halley seemed to keep a distance from me, so no one came to bother me anymore. It was very peaceful.
In the past, although I enjoyed studying, I'd never enjoyed going to school that much. But now, I wasn't too opposed to it anymore.
