Madeline Crayon, young and beautiful had to face bad days when her father signed a contract with a rival company just to keep his company moving. As per the contract, he would have to exchange his eldest daughter for the good of his business. The eldest daughter, ran away from home causing Madeline's father to force her into marrying the son of the Johan family, Elias. Rumors had it that he was always masked in public for a reason best known to him. Madeline had never faced that much disrespect, until the week of her wedding. She was locked in her room and her phone was seized. Not only that, her to-be husband came into the marriage registry, masked. Different thoughts came into her head. Maybe he was a serial killer disguised as a CEO. Will she be able to free herself from the written marriage where she suffered different trials every day, or perseverance would be her best friend?
Madeline sighed as she fiercely swerved around to face him. What the hell? How did he know she was going to go out, that he had to lock the door? Wait! It wasn't locked from the inside, it was locked from the outside, which means...
"What is this? How did the door got locked from the outside?"
"I told you before, right? Only my orders work here and no one else. If I ask anyone to dance, they will, and if I ask them to jump into the sea, they will. I believe you've gotten why it's locked from the outside. If you still don't get it, then forget it," Elias said and Madeline could only stare at him with hateful eyes.
"Now, go into the room and come down to have breakfast whenever you feel like it. Everything you want would be given to you. So there's no use owning a little restaurant. Get it?" he asked and walked out of the mansion not forgetting to lock the door behind him.
Madeline dropped her bag on the floor and looked up in defeat. She felt her tears flow freely from her eyes as she used her hands to wipe them off but they kept flowing. She wouldn't be able to take all of these. She wasn't used to this kind of caged and taunting life. She received part of that life from her father's house but this was worst than that and she wished she could go back to that life. She wanted to go check up on her restaurant. That place she built, that place she spent her last penny building, that place she cherishes a lot, but now, she can't go there and admire her works anymore. Her restaurant was one of the best in town and everyone considered it a huge success. Maybe he couldn't see that or he doesn't even know her restaurant at all.
Madeline ran and climbed the stairs but bumped into Claire who was scrolling through her phone. She staggered a little and got hold of her phone.
"Hey, you, can't you see? Have your eyes become blind now?" She yelled.
"Sorry," Madeline apologized and she continued running into her room and closing the door behind her. She rushed into the washroom and washed her eyes. She won't cry anymore. This tear was just a mistake. Not less than five minutes after she came out of the washroom, a knock came on her and Elias's bedroom door. She ignored it the first and second times, but on the third, she threw the towel she was using to wipe her face away and opened the door.
"What the fuck do you want, Kate?" She asked after seeing who was at the door.
"Look, if you feel like to help me with something right now, please help me by leaving me alone, okay?" She said, raising her voice a little.
"I'm sorry ma'am. I just came to give you your bag which you left in the living room. Your phone has been ringing ever since you left it there," Kate replied with her head bowed as she stretched her hands with the bag in it, for her to take. It was clear that she only went there to deliver her purse and not to ask if she needs help or not.
Madeline collected the white purse from her hands and collected her phone from it.
"Thank you, Kate. I'm sorry if I spoke too rashly with you. I was just out of the mood," Madeline apologized.
"No..no ma'am, I'm not offended at all. It's my job and I clearly understand your situation," Kate answered.
"Ok, thank you," Madeline appreciated and Kate smiled and walked away. She closed the door of the room as Kate left.
She threw her bag on the bed and sat on the floor with her back to the bed. It seems the floor was even better than the bed. She doesn't need anything soft right now, like the bed. Her life isn't soft anymore so there's no use sleeping on a soft bed. Madeline checked her phone to see what was calling as Kate said. It was Tina, her secretary. She dialed the number, put it on speaker, and placed it on her thighs.
"Hello, Miss Madeline," a feminine voice spoke from the other line as soon as the call went through.
"Hi, Tina. Is everything ok?" Madeline asked.
"Yes, Miss Madeline. Sorry, I mean Mrs. Madeline Johan. Congratulations ma'am. I'm so happy for you," Tina congratulated in an excited voice.
"W...what are you saying?"
"Come on, Mrs. Johan. I know you got married to the son of the Johan family and the whole world knows that too. But, you didn't even tell us."
Madeline sighed. She couldn't say anything. She thought this marriage was private so how did the whole world know about it? She guessed a paparazzi must have captured a picture of them and posted it on social media. Elias could do something to bring it down but he didn't and that made her anger intensify.
"Don't call me that, Tina. I'm still Miss, okay?" She said trying to sound less offended.
"Ah, ma'am, don't be shy. I know that name is still strange and unusual to you, but you should get used to it. I was like that too when I got married last year," Tina said.
"Forget it, Tina. How is everything at the restaurant? I hope everything is going fine. I'll try my best and come between this week," Madeline inquired.
"Don't worry about the restaurant at all. I'm taking care of things here and I'm handling it well, though not as well as you do. You can decide not to come soon, after all, you just got married. You should be enjoying your honeymoon with your husband. I can give you a hint on what men like if you want," Tina said in an excited voice as she anticipated Madeline's answer.
