Chapter Three

"ughhh," Mirela moaned, rubbing her side. "I am never going to school again."

Ace snickered. "I seriously doubt you could ever stay away as long as Arlo is there to tease."

Mirela chortled, wincing at the simple but painful movement. "that's... actually true."

ace laughed, but the laugh died as Aralyn yelled for them to stop. but hold on... how was Aralyn actually yelling? it was a miracle 😱.

"Ace! Mirela!" she cried.

they both turned, but Mirela scowled. "hold up, is she actually YELLING?!"

(dang, like character like author, amiright?)

ace nodded solemnly. " I think so."

"what is it, Aralyn?" mirela called.

Aralyn panted to a stop. "here," she managed to get out. "found this.. on the... school bulletin... board"

"take some deep breaths, Aralyn, deep breaths."

she fainted.

mirela rolled her eyes. 'youve got to be kidding me." she retorted as Ace caught the limp girl.

he looked at Mirela hopefully.

"a little help...?"

she sighed. "alright, fine. but just this once."

she wrapped her mental energy around her arm at the ready like armor, and placed a hand on Aralyn's forehead. Aralyn's face was erased from pain, and peace replaced it instead.

Ace placed her in the grass. "she'll be okay"

but Mirela didn't hear a word he said. she was busy looking at the flyer Aralyn had brought over.

Ace's brow furrowed in confusion.

"hey," he said, "are you alive?"

Mirela looked like she was about to become like Aralyn.

Ace placed a hand on her back, and took the paper from her. he was as stunned as she was, voice quivering

"the... king is requesting all Prophets to appear before him at the palace?"
