It was all quiet for a week. They all went about with their things. Scarlet was still Lei's mentor and Sam showed up periodically. However, it never led to That moment again and Scarlet was feeling rather miffed about it.
You should really step up your game, the system suggested. She knew she had to, of course, Scarlet sighed as she rubbed her temples just as Lei shared something helpful.
"There's a scholar library that's hidden away and Sam frequents that place quite a bit. He'll usually be there every other day," Lei shared before yawning, "Although I don't see what's so alluring about a hidden library."
Hidden library sure sounded mighty alluring at this point of time. She wondered if she could manage to pull off having a moment with Sam. He is, after all, just a character in this world. It really shouldn't be that difficult to settle him, should it. This is taking much slower than she had anticipated.
You do know we're down to 31 days yes, the system reminded. 31 days? Yikes! Scarlet's eyes widened. What happens after 31 days?
You'll find out, the system informed mysteriously. Scarlet rolled her eyes, of course, she'll find out alright but it sure made a difference if she could walk out of this place unscathed or in a coffin.
Making up her mind that it was a do-or-die mission and she had to pick up the pace, Scarlet bade Lei goodbye before quickly heading to the library.
If not for Lei's directions (turn right, see the hidden statue, turn left, turn the statue three times, turn left and okay, you're good to go), Scarlet was pretty sure no one would ever accidentally stumble here.
"It's... pretty dark, isn't it?" Scarlet murmured as she made her way. She could see shelves of books and there was a nice bookish scent to the place. It even had a table and a corner to rest. At the end of the aisle, there was a window that was closed and another door. She heard a slight movement. And decided that fortune favours the bold, so she took a bold step forward.
"Sam?" She called out, and a hand grabbed her from behind tugging at her waist. Her heart sped up as the hands held her in an iron grip. Besides her racing heart, the system was beeping intensely. It was for the greater good. She had to get out of this alive, and if meant going to this extend, well, she reckoned she had to do whatever it takes.
Slowly, those hands moved up to her chest, lightly caressing them, shooting tingles down her spine. Scarlet froze just as a cool pair of lips fell on the nape of her neck. She leaned against the warm body and sighed just as those lips went down, lower, forming a trail that caused her to let out a sound that didn't quite sound like her.
"Is this really what you want, Sam?" she whispered in the dark.
"Is this how you'll seduce him?" a voice demanded gruffly and Scarlet pulled away quickly. The crown prince?
She pulled her clothes back, wrapping herself tightly and drew a distance between them immediately. Vance flicked a match and lit the candle. His usual calm expression was gone. Instead, he appeared dark with anger. His eyes narrowed at the distance and sheer hypocrisy.
"So it's alright for Sam but not alright for me?" Vance demanded almost savagely. Scarlet'a hair bristled. She had never seen him this mad. Alarmed, she took a careful step back.
Recalling her "calm down rangers movement", she decided to use some calming techniques on Vance as he glared daggers at her.
"You're angry, sure. The person must have done something wrong. I understand, breathe in.... Breathe," Scarlet was about to say out but one look from Vance silenced her.
"Okay, yes. Yes, if you really must know, then yes, it's okay for Sam. I'll be happy to do whatever he needs me to, and yes, it only applies to him," Scarlet clarified. See, she wasn't a wanton woman as what Vance had clearly thought so. She was a one-destroyer kind of girl.
Seeing that she might finally understand where Vance is coming from, Scarlet continued, "I'm really not the sort to initiate such things but with Sam, it's all really just for him. So all your worries are unfounded, really. I'll do this with Sam only!" Scarlet exclaimed almost triumphantly. He must truly care for Sam to be this concerned.
Vance closed their distance in one stride and pulled Scarlet's chin up. Roughly, he lowered his mouth and covered hers with his. Stunned, Scarlet's elbow jabbed him and she tried to push him away but it only made him angrier.
And he deepened the kiss further, parting her mouth with his tongue as he explored her further and deeper.
Scarlet decided that the more she resisted the more he would deepen it so she decided not to resist and calmly refused any reaction but it only made things worse as his hands were beginning to go around her waist and he held her tightly.
"Is this how you would like him to hold you?" Vance uttered as he held Scarlet in his arms tightly, like a feline cat.
At this point, Scarlet was just exhausted by the sheer amount of alarms that were going off in her head and the fact that she was dealing with a character that had gone rogue. The Crown Prince wasn't supposed to ever act in this manner. He was always... perfect, well-respected and principled. Admired by everyone, born into royalty and all he ever knew would just be that. His life would have been all about perfection, well-concealed emotions and just a sheer load of being able to take tons of bull crap while maintaining that impeccable look of high snobiety air.
This was entirely out of character!
We have an emergency, the system announced and Scarlet wanted to yell, yea? What gave it away? The fact that her character had just been assaulted? Or the fact that the Crown Prince had just gone batshit crazy.
ok guys, if this happens in society. please run! once again, I'm going with how the character breaks and unfolds.
so yes I know it's wrong of course! but if it causes great discomfort, please skip those chapters.
