Settling down at school.

As soon as our eyes met, I turned away feeling very awkward but she continued looking at me. It didn't take long for others to notice.

"Look," Marcos said, "seems like our man got eyes on him already".

"Lucky dude", another commented.

"Let's go eat some food and settle down in our hostels", I said in an attempt to change the topic and thankfully they bought it.

After eating with my new friends, we all moved into our different hostels. Jim and I, who were in the same hostel went to bed. Our rooms were opposite each other.

"Goodnight Jim", I said as I entered my room.

Immediately I got in, I slumped on my bed putting my tired brain to rest.

"Grinnnn, Grinnnn!", the repeated ringing of my doorbell woke me up.

It was the hostel master

"You're still asleep at 10AM?", he asked with surprise from the other side of the door.

"Don't tell me you're a lazy bone?"

Wait a minute, 10AM? I had no idea I had slept for that long. I quickly got myself ready and left for lecture - it turned out I was the only one left in the hostel.

"Now Larry, come forward and demonstrate the defense stance"

Mr. Bill, the combat instructor, was currently taking the defense class. He was usually a tutor for the first-year students. However, this year, he seemed to have taken special interest in a student and have been teaching like he was the only one in the entire hall. Larry this, Larry that.

Meanwhile, jack had silently entered the hall and sat at the back where he could barely see because there was no sitting space.

"You," Mr. Bill called, "why are you late to class on your first day?"

"Me?", I asked though I knew that I was the only one who just arrived. How the hell did he notice me? I used my speed to enter the hall when he was backing the door....

"Errr... I slept past schedule", I managed to say embarrassed.

" Seems like one lazy bone just awakened!", Mr. Bill taunted.

Everyone laughed except a few people.

"Now," he said facing Larry, "back to you..."

*****************************************

"Never mind the combat instructor," Larry said as he caught up with Jack who was heading to the canteen for some food.

"It's nothing. You're quite lucky though cause he seems to like you."

"He's my dad." Larry said in a low tone.

"ohh..." What? wasn't it against the law to enroll your child in any special school you taught in?

"I know what you are thinking. I shouldn't have told you but please keep it secret."

"I promise I won't. You're a kind guy."

"Jack!", Jim and Marcus called from a distance as they walked towards me.

"Thanks for your concern, Larry. I got to go."

"How's your first day so far?",Marcus asked as I got closer to him.

"Pretty good you know but it's quite early to conclude. There are a long of mean people here."

"Like the combat instructor?", Jim asked knowingly.

"It wasn't funny, you know?"

" I didn't laugh at... hold on," Marcus said as he observed something, "did you guys just see that guy drag somebody into the VIP restroom?"
