Special Chapter II - Ambush (part 2)

Two more scared knights to kill. The two knights looked very shocked when they saw the arrow on their captain's chest, but they couldn't let the captain's death go to waste. They must fight with all they have.

This time, their eyes are also looking up, preparing for any incoming arrows. But they also have to be ready for the enemy in front of them.

This is truly an impossible battle.

When the first bandit dashed forward, the knights fixed their stance. But the bandit's blade didn't even make it to the knight's face. Instead of reaching the knights, the bandit exploded.

BAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Everyone around the five meters radius, including the two knights and some of the bandits, got thrown backwards thanks to the explosion. Both sides are confused as to what happened, even the archer leader from far away.

The knights looked back, trying to find what caused the bandit to explode, but standing a meter right in front of them is a person wearing black robes and a skeleton mask, holding a knights sword on the right hand and a fireball on the left hand.

Behind the mask, everyone can see the red eyes glowing, and the bandits began shuddering in fear.

.

Minutes before.

After peeing, which took like an entire two minutes since I'm in a female body, I went on a little sight seeing around the forest.

I never really went camping before since my parents weren't really one to like nature. So I don't really know how it feels to pee in the wild. My clothes are also hindering me from peeing normally, and I also had to be very cautious to make sure that nobody is watching me, which adds more to the time.

Also, yeah. Ladies do need more effort to pee... I was always wondering why my sister always took forever when using the bathroom.

After peeing, I just started moving around. I already heightened my senses and looked for everything around me, and I've been enjoying the natural environment with my heightened senses. It's really fascinating because with magic senses, I can sense and see every living thing around me very closely and accurately.

I can see a squirrel on top of the tree in front of me, eating something which I assumed to be a nut. I can hear the snake slowly going up the tree, sneaking up on the squirrel.

Yes, that squirrel is going to die.

I shot a small fireball at the tree trunk right next to the snake, throwing the snake away. Leave the little squirrel alone!

I continued my stroll down the gigantic forest, enjoying the feels and fresh air altogether. And from my senses, I can feel nearly everything here.

After walking for a while, I can see the pond from behind the trees. As I checked my senses, my face immediately turned to horror behind the mask.

Immediately, I felt something very wrong.

I rushed forward to the pond, and just as I guessed, there wasn't anybody in the carriage area. Instead, I can see knights on the ground, just a few meters away from the carriage. I counted five of them, and they are all heavily wounded.

Ambush... damn it.

I quickly dashed using my highest speed, praying that everyone is okay. After arriving at the carriage, I checked everyone who had been downed and healed their wounds. Luckily, they haven't passed a point where it's unhealable.

The male knight from before had an arrow sticking on his chest, but thanks to his thick armour, only the tip of the arrow entered his chest. He could still be saved.

After healing everyone else, I checked the carriages.

On the third carriage, I found where the passengers were hiding. Six of them, including the robed lady, are inside.

"Where are the other knights?"

"The back and the front! They are heavily outnumbered!"

Suddenly my gaze was stuck on her for a few seconds. The robed lady had her hood down, and I could see her face clearly. As I expected, she is a noble.

Just by judging from her earrings, I can already tell. Her pale expression that showed simply how panicking she is also gave it away.

She is the young lady from the Amila family. The VIP to be protected in this whole trip.

I don't know the story as to why she ended up using an ugly carriage, but that doesn't matter right now. People are dying, and I have to move quickly.

I exited the carriage and studied the back side and the front side of this road where two battles were happening at the same time. From the looks of it, neither side is doing well, but the front side is holding up better than the back.

There are still three knights standing on the front. On the back, only two knights are fighting, while the other two are down on the floor with one dragging another away from the battle.

It's not even a battle... It's a massacre.

And so, I decided to help the back first.

Using my highest speed, I ran towards the back side of the road and ignited my left hand with flames. This time, I don't have a sword that can withstand heat, so I will have to make do with my hand.

However, to my surprise, using flames like this is so much easier.

I imagined a ball of flames with an extreme fire force. In just a second, a ball of flames with extreme force on it got conjured on top of my left hand. And as soon as I got close to them, I fired the fireball.

The explosion was much larger than I thought. It threw away the first line of bandits backwards, but it didn't affect the knights.

The explosion was very powerful, and it caught so many people off guard. I was quite surprised as well, but I'll figure it out later.

When I got closer, I leaped above the knights and landed right in front of them, between them and the bandits. I unsheathed my knights sword and dashed forward.

SLING!!

TRING!!

Sounds of metal clashing can be heard while I beat down nearly twenty bandits in less than ten seconds. My knights sword literally sliced through their weapons as if they were paper, but I realized that these bandits are still humans. I decided not to kill them and use only the blunt side of my sword to take them down, and that wasn't exactly an issue considering the gap between our strengths.

All the bandits here are down, but no one is dead. The knights behind me watched with awe as I turned around to command them.

"Tie them up!!"

After telling them that, I checked the surroundings to see if there's more. But since there are none, I quickly ran again and went to the front side this time.

However... it would seem that I was being too slow on the back side.

One knight on the front side, the biggest looking one, has fallen. Now, two knights are standing on their position, preparing to fight their final battle in their lives.

With haste, I created a smaller fireball and shot them towards the first bandit that was already dashing forward. I made sure this one packs even more explosive, and I tried condensing the flames within some more.

Please... make it quickly.

BOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fireball arrived on time, and quite a few of the bandits exploded. The knights got thrown backwards, but it didn't really hurt them. The bandit who was at the most front was thrown backwards and landed his body on his friends, the other bandits.

That explosion was powerful... I think I found the key.

FWOOSSHHH!!!!!!!!

I leaped again very quickly and landed in front of the knights. But before I attacked, I heightened my senses.

... Looks like I was right.

There are others beside the one in front of me. The front side is where the enemies are grouping, and it would seem that this is where every single one of them is at.

Three on top of the trees to the left, two on top of the trees on the right, and one just way across the field, far-far away. One of them is proudly standing alone while holding a bow from a very far distance, a little too far than the others.

Something tells me that guy is special. His archery skills, if he is staying from that far away, must've been very good.

Perhaps... as good as Valey? I have to be careful.

"Get those two to safety, I'll take care of them."

I commanded the scared knights behind me before I started my attack. As the knights began moving out of the area, I dashed forward.

First, I disabled the ones in front of me. One by one, the bandits lost their ability to walk forever, and maybe with a broken arm. I used my sword to parry their strike, and then tackled their feet with one enchanted leg. When they fell to the ground, I stabbed their feet so that they wouldn't move.

Their screams were like music to my ears, and the knights behind me were doing the thing I asked them to do.

Suddenly, all the bandits were already down on the floor. How long did that take? Twenty seconds?

The knights watched in awe as they quickly took themselves out of the picture and grabbed the downed knights away. They were watching as I took down the bandits rapidly, all while taking care of the other wounded knights near them.

All of the bandits on the ground have been taken down. Now, for the ones around the tall trees.

I have been practicing this when I was with Hod and the others during missions. I conjured multiple small fireballs the size of an acorn on my left hand and ordered them to fly..

Like a homing missile, the fireballs flew through the air, dodging the trees as if commanded, all the way to their targets.

The bandits had no way of seeing this coming. They were so taken aback from seeing their comrades fall down in mere seconds that they couldn't dodge the fireballs.

BOOM!!!!

BOOMM!!!!

BAARRRR!!!!!!!

After a while, I can hear some explosions coming from my left and right. After confirming they are all down, I looked forward, towards the final archer.

Judging from how lonely he is, he must be the leader.

The bandit leader quickly shoved away his confusion and grabbed an arrow from his quiver. The arrow quickly sliced through the air once it was launched away from his longbow. But instead of stabbing the target, the arrow was sliced in half.

SLING!!!...

The arrow was sliced right in front of me, falling down to the ground in two pieces.

Seeing what just happened, the archer opened his eyes widely.

"What!?!"

FWUNGGG!!!!!!!

Another arrow shot at me. And I simply swung my sword once more.

SLING!!

SLING!!

Two arrows became four pieces.

Compared to the attacks of high tier dungeon monsters, these arrows are way too slow.

The bandit archer had no choice but to use a stronger attack. This time, he took an arrow from a different spot, which is the long pocket on his right leg. Inside the long pocket is a single arrow, enchanted with a powerful lightning magic.

The bandit inserted the arrow on his long bow and launched it. The arrow flew through the air with sparks of lightning striking the dust along the flight path.

... Eh?

Isn't that the same as Valey's lightning arrow?

The arrow was shot at a higher speed since it was enchanted, but out of nowhere, the arrow stopped.

I caught it with my left hand before it could reach my mask. The tip was only a few centimeters away from my face, and I studied the enchantment done to the arrow quite closely.

It is actually just like Valey's arrow. A lightning magic enchanted arrow. It's certainly very powerful.

How come that guy hasn't used these arrows before? Perhaps... he doesn't have Valey's ability to enchant the arrows?

I pointed the arrow back to him. I formed a stance, and with a single throw, the arrow flew back to its origin faster than before, landing just an inch from the archer's feet.

BLAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Upon landing, the arrow exploded as thunderous chips burst the bandit leader. All the way from the carriage, everyone inside can see the thunder striking the middle of the forest on this rather clear day.

When the dust cleared, the bandit leader fell to the ground. I marched towards him and arrived next to him in no time.

"Ughh..."

The bandit leader mumbled. Luckily, his condition was not enough to kill him. I only watched as his body was completely cooked by the lightning blast just now, and I realized this guy is not a lightning magician.

Lightning magicians like Valey will always have high resistance to lightning zaps. Just like how I am resistant to heat, because I'm a fire magician. Hod is resistant to cold since he is an ice magician, and so on.

This guy... he must've bought the arrow.

"How much money did you spend on arrows like that?"

I asked as I approached him above the tree, and he coughed before answering.

"That arrow... cost me a fortune..."

Yeah... that makes sense.

It was a powerful arrow indeed. No wonder Valey is a Blue ranked adventurer. She can make arrows like those pretty easily.

I grabbed the bandit leader on his hand and dropped him next to his friends on the ground back at the previous battle spot. I looked back at the carriage where all the knights had started to wake up. Everyone else also seemed to have left the carriage to check the situation.

So far... the trip has been going really well, huh?

It has, in fact, did not go well.
