Search for a surrogate.

Cleve and his wife are seated in the doctors office lookin  at the huge heap of documents laying on the table.

Thousands of women have applied to be the surrogate mother to Cleve's child..Even his humble secretary wasn't left behind.

Jealousy rises in aina's chest as she schemes  through the applications thinking of all these women who would be glad to replace her in a minute.

As she goes through the papers ,she notices that the women  have attached pictures  of all sorts..casually dressed,half naked ,almost naked and others are stark naked as if they are an open invitation to Mr Cleve.

Aina clenches her fist and is tempted to throw away the applications and do away with the surrogate plan.Her heart swells with anger that she almost faints.

Cleve notices the situation  and quickly rises and holds her lovingly 

"Don't worry darling.. it's just applications papers..don't get too worked up , you matter to me  more than all these women." 

Though she is reassured she still has some reservations.At the moment her hands are tied all she can do is take her seat and pray that she won't lose her sanity in the process.

Getting a whiff of the recent happenings Aunt Maria quickly contacts her puppet.

Maria" Did you do what i asked of you?"

Miss Y"ofcourse ma'

Maria"Good,good.

Though miss Y hates it,her family is indebted to Maria.

To repay her for the kindness she had shown them,she agrees to sign up for the surrogate programme after thorough consideration.

Maria had saved her family from the blink of death,with a sickly mother and a drunkard for a father she was a blessing to her family.This confronted with her request which sounded sincere enough she had reluctantly agreed.

Tasha is getting prepared as well as she  calls her childhood friend , Sonia to try out being the surrogate mother.Tasha feels that Sonia is more worthy and deserving to be cleve's partner and the mother to his children.

Moreso coming from a good family she stands a better chance than any other girl.All she can do is hope and pray that his bitch of girlfriend doesn't recognise her or rather lets the sleeping dogs lie.

As Aina goes through the applicants a stunning brown eyed lady with auburn hair catches her eye

It is hard to deny how sharp and beautiful her looks are.with such perfect looks she can be a ran way model.

The lady catches cleve's attention too.

Aina flips to the background info to check her details

Her heart hammers loudly in her chest.she can feel hot blood rushing through her veins.

An uneasy feeling tugs her heart.

As though dissapointed she didn't qhat she was looking for she flips to the next page.

Cleve has also noticed how anxious she was on the particular girl.

Once Aina places the file down he goes through it himself

Not wanting to look obvious,he has to shiw that he is hoing through each and every application.

Though she had changed her looks and matured a little bit she cannot confuse him.

Placing the stuck of applications aside he helps Aina scheme through the rest.

Due to cleve's success and position  in the society,many women  want to be close to him ,to give him his hearts desire including a child just so that they can climb the social ladder.

It has taken a whole day to finish perusing the information that they had to stop mire from incoming.

So far they have managed to pick three out of the lot

Aina searches through the list as though confirming a particular name however just like before she ends up with the same outcome.

Aina"honey do you know this particular applicant?"

Cleve shakes his head vigorously.

"Maybe if tou show me the picture".

You know i won't be suprised if somebody within the company also applied afterall my secretary did

Aina holds her form back

She is jealousy of her good looks

Of all the applicants she stood out and if she were to compete for cleve's attention with her she wouldn't be sure of the outcome.

She was just too good to be a surrogate.

Unless and otherwise.."her eyes almost pop out from the sudden realisation

Excusing herself she opts for the ladies

"Mom,how far?"

Su"Relax my dear,she will be here first thing in the morning"

Aina"That will be better mother.with all that is going on i really feel insecure and cleve is not helping at all

I feel like his aunt might try to sabotage our relationship".

Her heart constricts with pain.how can she forget how Maria thwarted her plans.

Hey lady watch it?"

She is lost in thought that she doesn't realise she almost bumped into somebody.

"Watch it"she shouts at the strange looking woman.but the other party assumes her.

"Don't you know what polite etiquette means?when you pumb into somebody you apologise."she shouts at the woman who seems to be in a hurry

"Hey,hey i am talking to you"she is hell bent on making a scene out of it.

"This commoners never learn

You almost ruined my dress".

The lady doesn't spare her even a single glance.its like she is in her own world

"Weird"she states as she adjusts her dress

Did Miadele clinic start treating mental cases?".

Cleve grows tired of waiting thus decides to go for her. 

From the far end of the corridor she can hear a woman shouting.

Getting closer as expected its his fiance.

She looks worked up.

Putting a hand on a shoulders he pulls her closer,

"Is anything the matter?"he asks

With a scrunched face 

"Mmmh "she answers

"Does this facility offer psychiatric treatment?"

"What?"cleve looks surprised

What do you mean by that?

My dear this is a fertility clinic" he laughs at her silly joke.

Aina"Thats weird

Cleve"What is weird"

"A minute ago a lady pumbed into me almost ruining my dress,but she couldn't even turn back to apologise.

I am sure she heard me loud and clear

Does she not know who i am?"

Cleve turns to look at the direction she is pointing to he catches sight of a familiar figure.

His stomach tightens into a knot.

Running to the corridor there is no one in sight, the corridor is clear.

That's weird he thinks.

"I am sure i saw her here?

But how is it even possible?"

Shaking his head he brushes it aside.

"Maybe my mind is playing games with me?

Maybe i am just too tired from all the paperwork."

"Did you see her?maybe you caught a glimpse of her face?she asks

Cleve looks at her blankly as though he is starring at a statue.

"I am sure if she gets to know who i am she will come back crawling begging for my forgiveness. 

This hospital is not for commoners"

She continues to rant

.she might be a cleaner,yes that must be the case i didn't feel any special aura around her".

To cleve her voice sounds like the shrill sound made by crickets.

She is like a leaking roof,complaining and nagging non stop for the second time in their relationship cleve shouts at her

"Shut up!can you shut the fuck up!woman you talk too much

Do you ever tire?"

With words stuck in her throat she is left mouth agape 

"Aina i have had a long day,i need to rest and you are not helping at all".

The tension in the air can be cut by a knife.

They stand their looking at each other probably trying to come up with explanations on how to lighten the damp atmosphere.

Aina's expression is hurt

Cleve stares blankly into space not thinking of anything in particular.

The doctor comes to their rescue.

"Maam,sir this way please".

They both follow the doctor while maintaining a safe distance between themselves.

Aina is convinced that if she allows anybody to carry their child it will be the beginning of her end.

She resolves to counter this any way posssible

She has to help herself out.

The doctor opens the door to his office .cleve does not even glance back to confirm whether his fiance has entered before slumming the door.

With a storm raging  in her heart it takes alot of willpower to control the otherwise threatening tears from falling.

She allows the slamming door to hurt her foot

"Ouch!"she shouts as she kneels to crutch the  hurt foot.

Cleve turns back like lightning.

"Are you okay ?"he rushes to her side

In a matter of seconds the hurt foot is already showing signs of swelling

"How could you be so careless?"

He scolds her but one could feel a hint of tenderness in his voice

"I..i..i am sorry hunie.I dissapointed you again.

I wasn't first enough to pass through the door before it shut itself.I thought you were holding it for me". 

She is clearly stating its his negligence that caused her to be hurt.

Its like cleves heart has been twisted

He feels guilty for her.

Caressing her face

Seeing his expression Aina gives a sly smile.
