Chapter 4

After fine toning everything that night we all headed to bed with a sense of accomplishment. I know everyone that was a werewolf all has been trying to teach me about packs and everything i need to know but it was not the time yet. from everything they told me I have a basic grasp but not a clear one.

The next morning waking up at the usual time of 4:30 am to start my day. I always enjoy each day one at a time. why worry. Since my pack always move around and never in one spot for long I figured what reason would i need all the information about packs and the rankings.

Decision made I will ask this morning after my morning run and breakfast, the group that heading to the property that we have our eyes set on.

Getting on our motorcycle to head out, my father would be following after he finishes the last final peices he needs to get done. He would not be to far behind but knowing father he will be quick to join us.

On the rode I called a contractor who had a crew of seven.

"Hello Mike here with Olsens Traveling Construction," a mans voice spoke. "How may I help you?"

"Well I found out online that you are in the area of a town called Creek Fox," I said. "My family and I are just buying some property. So we will need to have construction workers to help build the house and building that we need. Also you will have extra hands to help you out along the way as this property will be a home base for my families business. we are looking at arriving tonight and I have all the plans for the building all done up. We can meet tomorrow and go over everything and I will have copies so you can get cost estamiates for everything. We all ready have the lumber matrials all lined up and anything else you need to get for this job we will pay for so all you need to figure out is the labor work cost. Unless you can get discounts do to the work you do. Than we will give you the money to cover all exspenses on your end. However we will have a contract with everything so all we have to do is sign and you, us and a lawyer will have a copy each stating everything out in black and white. this way no one is cheated."

"Wow," Mike responded. "So you would like to have my traveling business work for you. But you have all the paper work for the contract drawn up so all I have to do is sign if I agree. Your famil sure does not do anything slow."

"No we do not," I said. "So do you have caller idenifaction on your phone? If so the number you see on the screen is how you can reach me. Since you know the area, I will let you pick the place and also go a head and bring your crew because I like to have feed back from everyone even if you have final say. Would that work for you?"

"Yes," he responded. "My crew always get to have some say before I make a decition on a job. this way we all agree and we can get the job done. There is a cafe in town that you would enjoy. how about we meet there and finish the business?"

"Sure and all cost is on me," i siad. "No need to start out on the wrong foot so see you tomorrow for breakfast and lets shoot for a nine o'clock meeting there. I will let you inform the cafe of the meeting so they can set up nine setting from my side and how ever many on yours."

"Ok," he said. "That i can work on. so see you tomorrow at nine. bye."

"See you later bye," i said as I hung up.

"okay david," I mind-link. "I understand that the alpha is the top dog, in essence the boss over the pack and also the protecter. But what I am struggling with is the other top dogs under the alpha. What is there jobs and how does it effects the pack."

"Okay I am going to tell you in terms of a business and see if it helps understand the workings of a pack," David response back through the mind-link. "See a business and pack is very similar in working. The alpha of the pack is the president, CEO, or head boss. The beta is just under him the vice president, second in command, and his job is to help the alpha in all his work. Also the beta runs things whe the alpha goes off or he is with the alpha and the third in command takes over til both the alpha and beta returns."

"Alright i think I am following," I said. "Let me get this straight. An alpha is essense of the pack, in other words the head of the snake. Protecting, making sure that the pack has everything they need, and making sure the pack is sucred is along the lines of the alphas responsibility. The beta helps the alpha by taking some of that load off but has to go through the alpha to approve but when the alpha is away the beta is the acting leader. However the third command steps in and also helps the alpha and beta do their work and is like an under boss. he works close to everyone who can approach him and tell him about any problems that he can bring to the top dogs. Am i correct so far?"

"Yes that sums it up nicely," David responded. " Okay as for the head worrior. The head worrior over sees the security of the pack and works withthe alpha about the safety. His job is to make sure everyone can fight and protect themselves. also he make sure that those who cna not protect them have safe places to go when and if there ever is a fight. He is to help keep a peaceful order in the pack."

"So the head worrior is something like a cop to help keep order?" I asked to confirm it.

"Yes in a sense that is what he does," he said.

"Okay let me think on what you have told me if I have more questions I will ask," I told him before cutting our private mind link.

All of the wolves I took in wanted to teach me about my heritage. But I was not ready. So now I am asking and slowly digesting the information so that i can have a better understanding of how things work. Since I run a farly small pack right now I did not need a whole lot of information. However by the look of how everything is heading I know that I will be needing this information sooner than I want to have it.

As we started to reach toward afternoon and close to an hour away from our destination. We had all agreed on a pizza parlor to stop and eat.

My Father called a few minutes ago as we had already made a decition of where we were stopping. So the place I told my father worked out just fine.

The serving girl I saw approached, at first glace I picked up she was pregnant and also she was about seventeen at my guess.

"David," I mind-link. "What is wrong with out waitress? I get a feeling she I scared of us and unsure how to approach."

"You are correct on a couple of those points," He responded back. "I believe she picked up that we are werewolves like she is. Also we are on the edge of a pack boarder but have not crossed any of the territory."

"Okay," I said.

"hey," I said to the girl. "I am Pheonix also the leader of this creww here. just relax it is not healthy for your baby if you are stressed out."

"umm," She started. "What can i get you to drink?"

I notice at this that she is staring down at the floor.

"Hey," I told her. " Just get us three pitches. One with tea, another with water and the last one with sprite. also when are you done? it looks like you have not ate for a while and need to eat. you are feeding two now. as for what we want for food. We wil take two pepperoni, two hawian, three all meat, and four of your death by pizza's (that has everything on it)."

"Okay," she said . "your order may take a while but as it gets done I will bring it."

"No sweetheart," I calmly told her. "You are going to bring our drinks, put the order in and rest some. while you are at it you can tell me why you are here and not with your family who should be helping you. the Waiter over there can bring our food while you take a break. If your boss has a problem than he should have thought about your condition while putting you to work."

She moved away slowy as she thought about what i had said.

After a while a group of guys barged in and the look I saw crossing the girls face made angel come front and center in my mind. When I heard her say 'protect girl and pup' i ddi not know what to do but sitting still was not in my course of action.

I was out of my seat and my crew all became alert instantly. Iwalk straight to the girl and spoke to her in a soft voice that only she could hear.

"Calm yourself down and come on," I said. "You are going to be with me and by my side. You are safe no need to be worried."

"Trish," her boss came out. "You are still on the clock quit being lazy and get to work."

"What did you say," I growled out. "She has been working while the rest of your staff has been fucking lazy doing nothing. I suggest you get our food done so we can pay and than leve. Trish I have a job that would best work for you and you do not need to have all this stress on you. I will handle all your problems as of right now you do not work here."

"david," I growled out through our mind-link. "Get Trish here and keep her by your side. Now!"

"Yes Alpha," He responded quickly.

I walked over to the guys that made Trish scared and had my wolf ready to tare to pieces.

"Trish is a whore," one guy said and the rest laugh.

"She had the guts to call me her mate after we had sex," another stated. "I end that because I am not her mate."

I glaced over at her to see her with tears rolling down her face as david comfort her.

"She was not lying to no one. he was her mate but he rejected her," david, my beta confirmed to me through our mind-link. "She is scared because he has been coming to her and forcing her to have sex with her. No in her pack believes her. Not even the elders will help her out."

"Is there a way that can break their bnd to each other and as for her old pack they are worthless," I stated. "She has a new pack. Since you have a better idea of how to break it talk with josh and get it taken care of. She can handle the suplies and clean including hiring the housekeeping staff. That can be her responsiblity. As for the child she carries.... the pup will be protected and loved by all."

I met one of the four guys eyes and had a stare down. no one could break it no matter how hard they tried to.

Finally he broke first and i just continue to stare the group down.

"What the fuck is going on Alpha?" One of the guys asked.

"I have no clue but it involves that female staring us down," the one who broke eye contact respone.

"David," i mind-linked. "Ask if Trish she has accept the rejection? If she has not we will stand by her side so she can go through it. Also I want you to ask if that is something she thinks she can handle."

"No alpha she has not," He responded.

"Hmm," I did as an idea came to mind.

"So you guys know the waitress named Trish?" I asked as I aproached them.

"Yes and why would that concern you?" One sneered at me.

"Well it may be my concern as an alpha blessed by the moon goddes herself," i responded. "Or the fact that I can see the truth behind what she is truely saying that no one in her pack believes her. I wonder why? Is it because you believe your brother more than a single female? Well here I have a little surprise for you. This should confirm who is lying and who is telling the truth. But dear fellow alpha know this. Do to you betraying her trust and faith in who she should be able to turn to for help and aid, you have lost a pack member to me."

"No way I will not let her go," the alpha said. "I refuse to allow her to leave."

"Oh," I said. "We will settle this at your pack in front of your elders and pack as witness. For your chellenge I, Alpha Phoenix Zeva Winter of the Reaper Worrior pack, accept that challenge and i will recieve Trish as the benifit. If you win I will give your pack a training in fighting skills."

"That is a deal," he said. " I, Alpha Blaze Light of the Blood Light pack give and accept the terms of this challenge."

Couple of his buddies paled after they heard my pack name. It seems my pack has made rounds to all the wolves.

"I hope you give me a good challenge," I said. "As for you after we are done eating we will be by our bikes waiting. trish will say what is needed to say with no interferance from your alpha. I do suggest you think through carefully because the guys at that table is only one fourth of my pack and we are all trained. Enjoy and i will follow you. Trish can do this here or at the pack you pick. But It will get done."

Before they could ask me anything else I turned in a toe heel fashion that I learned from my uncles and father. Once i reached the table my crew were seated. Trish shaking like a leaf and all my guys trying to comfort her. When my father saw her he took her into his arms and held her with care.

"Dad you may have to go a head of us," I told him. "I have a challenge to handle and Colt I want you to drive Trishes vehcule. Your job as well as Blake, Dylan and David is to protect her and her pup till everything is sorted out. Also as soon as I win I want you to get her out of there immediately."

"Yes Alpha," they responded.
