"There is NO way Alec died this quickly," cried Daphne Tjia. She hadn't been able to contact Alec for nearly a month, but wasn't he busy preparing for surgery?
"The operation was not successful, Daphne Tjia. There were complications the doctors couldn't handle."
"But, Alec promised me to get well. Alec is a very strong person. There's no way he's leaving us so soon, B!" sobbed Daphne Tjia while covering her face.
Ansel Balder approached Daphne Tjia to hug him. "I'm sorry, Love. Maybe this operation is too painful for him. Would you like to pray with me?"
Daphne Tjia shook her head stubbornly. Alec's laugh at the photo at the Christmas Market was really warm. He seems fine. Excited after the examination. The promise was clear and without a doubt. How could that be? This is too preposterous.
"When did he die?"
"Two days ago when I was in Germany."
