Ch. 24

Bai Qiu Ch. 24

I couldn't sit still as I shifted often in the back of the van. Wuying snickered at my misfortune. Every since I was honest, Chen Yi has been on a hell path. She was trying to be more assertive but it was just not in her nature. She had perfect control of her body but she would always lose herself in the emotions of the act. Which only made Daisy tease her more. Which was taken out on me. Usually, I am the one trying to spend few more minutes with her. Well, inside her soft body but lately, she been the one inside me. Only time she switch was when she was practicing being more assertive but that only led to frustration which led to my pain tolerances.

I glance at Tim who was acting a bit too excited. "What is this mission about, anyway?" Tim glance at me before smiling like a true retard but I noticed the greedy look and his sweaty palms. "You remember Eliza rambling on about those two mysteries Mages? The Black and White Mask duo?" I sort of remember. She talk a lot and often. I glance at her brother who was our healer. He didn't say anything and had a holier than art expression going.

"Well, they created this elixir that can increase your strength by two folds. Not to mention a reward of magic item of our choice." This was what he was most excited about but he became sober after that. "Well, the mission is to assist them in taking out a spirit town. The Spirits or whatever creature they are, are all tier five creatures. Which means top apex predators of this world. Not to mention, they have creatures resembling dragons and bears as guardians. Dire Wolves as mounts. The creatures themselves are physical combat focus but from the short clips they posted about the targets. The creatures also have some magical capable people and some of their leaders can even rival legendary tier six. If you didn't know, each realm only have five tiers with tier six being those who are godlike within that realm and barely meet the realm restrictions on power to be displayed."

For some reason, my gut clenched. Our group could be considered mid stage of tier four. Maybe peak if we use all our trump cards. Chen Yi was mid stage tier five and her uncle was peak tier five. "We aren't the only group doing this mission right?" Tim rolled his eyes. "Of course not. There about sixty different groups coming and the only way for us to get rewards is by being in top ten kills or contribution. Check it out yourself." I did just that. It seem the mission had a way to track our efforts. Even the mission details were very planned out. You could see every creature in the valley of mountains. However, I doubted if we could achieve top ten. If we had brought Chen Yi, maybe we could have gotten within top ten but just our strength? We will be lucky just to survive. However, just for participating. We will get nice amount of credit when this was all over. Fifteen million per group. Someone was incredible rich.

My throat was especially dry as we got out the van. There was sea of people waiting for orders and small stage with three figures on it. Black and White. Also a green cloak figure. I look around to feel people with power much or at the same level as myself. I had no idea where these people came from.

"It is time to begin. Follow us and be ready to attack on our command." That quiet voice was able to reach us all the way in the back. It ringed in my head and I felt such an intense familiar feeling from it that I knew it was Chen Yi without getting a closer look. It seems she went hunting instead of staying home all the time. Wasn't as surprising as the fact she was way more famous than me or my crew. Liang Shui and Wuying look at me before laughing. "Master is most impressive." I snorted while equipping my battle gear. I wouldn't want to get ambushed.

Chen Yi POV

"Yang, shall we begin with a bang?" Uncle Luo laughed as he look at the spiraling dark clouds. The air got stuffy with smell of the ocean. Thunder crackle as lightning spiderweb through my clouds. "Of course, Princess. Let's start things off with a beautiful bang." I glance at Lil Lin before floating us up on cloud. The troops behind us look formidable with their array of arms and armor. Their presences was like a suffocating gas that stop the heavy drops of rain from penetrating to their bones. However, with a little effort and that change. Even though they were now getting soak and wet. Their fighting powers would increase and many would notices this soon. I lead the way forward. The tip of the spear.

We fought these Orc like creatures before and they, embarrassingly, made me and Uncle Luo flee in a sorry state. So much so that I woke up throwing up blood. However, I was able to play it off thanks to Uncle Luo and people misinformation about me. They didn't truly understand what it meant to be Embodiment of a Dao but they will after today. Uncle Luo laughed at Lil Lin comment. "Um, they are waiting for us." He held out his staff and smirk. "Of course, little green. They have the numbers and superior force. However, it is time for a little revenge." Bright light flashed at the end of his words. I led the attack by sending crystallize arrows down from the heavens. Uncle Luo lightning bolts were dancing in between the arrows as they slammed down into the ranks. Of course, this wasn't enough to harm them as their mages responded incredible fast with barriers. Their soldiers use their own bodies in some instances to block the attacks. These were all divine realm or higher soldiers. Even with a combine attack from me and my Uncle. We could only lightly injure some of their more un-alert ranks.

"Attack!" We punctuated that by launching our real attack. Golden bolts of heaven wraith plunged into the ranks as crystalline spears rain down. I could only giggled as tornado was touch down in the midst of the soldiers. They might have million soldiers and dangerous amount of guardian creatures. But in the face of Black and White. They will be anvil in which I forge my weapons. Lil Lin stepped forward and multi circle appeared from her hands. Raging fiery dragon shot forth. Slamming into the front line. Allowing some of our troops to get past the shield wall.

I glance at our troops formation and noticed they had gotten into optimal formation without our notice. Shield warriors in front. Melee behind. Ranger step behind second melee. Healer, Mage, and another melee. That was only for those who had complete deck of cards. Some lines had more range than others. But I approve, you are more likely to protect your surroundings and your own shield warrior than someone else. Whoever commanded these guys to form this formation was a genius. The more exceptional warriors were able to cover the slack of the less skill ones. They were inter-space in between. Even if not all shield warriors were good. The next row back could cover the slack. Or the archers could cover that slack. The mage seem to be focus on defense than actually attacking. Well accept one guy but his fellow line was covering for his sloppy behavior. Maybe these guys were just professionals. I sure as hell wouldn't want to face million and half well train soldiers with these guys as my comrades at their power levels.

I glance at the bear like beast running in like cavalry to the left side. Lil Lin turned and unleashed her highest spell. Large circle open above the charging bears. Meteorites fell from the sky like missiles. I was impressed. Uncle Luo even more so. "I need to find myself an apprentice. Nothing shows how skill you are more than your apprentice looking bad ass on camera in front of billions." I just snickered as the dragons and wyverns launched in the air. I waved my hand and bunch of clouds appeared for the back line warriors. If they were half as smart as they thought they were. Then they would be able to guess they can use them as stepping stones. Some of the Archers, of course, thought of this, and used it to add more contribution to the fight.

I couldn't believe the level of carnage that was going on right now. Front line warriors felled but reinforcement appeared like drops of rain. I was force to cover for a sorry as shit warrior who dropped his shield and got behead. For some reason, I teleported to his position and grabbed his shield. It was a bit awkward using his short sword but I was able to barely cope with holding off the enemy ferocious warriors. I couldn't use my typical style of fighting as their wasn't much room. I had to make quick and precise cuts. Or openings for the warrior and archer behind me to make kill shots. The enemy wasn't as coordinated but they had large amount of troops to rely on. Six hours later and my body was dripping with sweat. My arms were sore and the healing rain wasn't as effective as before. The black cloak waved his hands and the front line enemies were decimated as we switch roles again. The old shield bearers passed off their shields and went to the back to rest. While the other warriors took our place. I sat down next to Liang Shui who look as drain as I was. I glance a little further back and noticed that some of the people I seen die before actually come running back. Liang Shui followed my gaze while shaking his head. "It seems the reason they aren't doing more than suppressing the enemy with their aoe attacks. Is because they are holding active a resurrection formation. It siphons some of your power but you recover it back quickly under this rain." That is scary. How powerful are they compared to us if they could multitask like that. I haven't even seen that green cloak take a break yet. You could see her attacks dominating the field. It even single handedly got rid of side charge.

I check their live stream to see the views gone up by quarter of million. Over twenty billion viewers were tune in watching us struggle for our lives. What I truly wanted to know was same thing everybody did. How fucking powerful were they to be capable of achieving this for so long. The enemy was down to almost three hundred thousand troops from a million. The number they managed to kill of our troops were surprisingly many. I, probably like many, just thought we were getting more help. Who would have known that was not the case. Another hour pass up and I move to the second row. It was at this time that, I noticed archers jumping across small islands of clouds above our heads. Some warriors were up there as well. Few powerful mages were unleashing deadly waves of attacks against the aerial beast. I would have help but I would have been useless against the dragons. I wasn't use to fighting on that kind of terrain and my body was close to giving out. I could only sigh as this was one of the most craziest nights of my life.
