Unbound Familiar

An avid gamer nerd's dreams come true in another brutal yet lucky? fashion. Follow him as he does his best not to die in laughably humiliating ways, all while trying to escape his abrupt and unwanted servitude. Will his knowledge of the world he finds himself help him succeed? Will he return home? Will evolve past his title of 'Dog'? Read and find out! This will be another multiversal world-hopping story, similar to my other one, EBW. I'll not spoil the surprise of the first world, but Skyrim will eventually be involved... And no, I'll not be adhering to plot, instead destroying it and hopefully not butchering the original story in the process. Dimensional Immigration

Takashi nods at Kohta, "My thoughts exactly, some of our survivors used to be farmers, for both vegetables and cattle, so we should be able to become self-sustainable..." he looks to Saya, "The only problem is your parents, if what you said was true, what's stopping them from targeting us?"

Saya shrugs, "If we're going that route, they'll mostly leave us alone simply because they know you. We might need to give them some food from time to time, but it won't be much."

"Fthink of it like paying protection money." Kiriko adds despite her speech still being slightly slurred due to her missing teeth,

Saya nods, "Yeah, but I think we're all forgetting the fourth option..." she says, confusing all those present. She then looks towards Michael, who was busy picking his ear...

"What?"

"Our fourth option is to have Michael here take us back to whenever he'd come from. As far as I'm concerned, this world is ruined, and will take somewhere around a hundred years at least to get anywhere near stable. We could struggle through all that, death, strife, struggles and sadness, or we could hitch a ride." Saya adds, quickly noting Saeko's peaked interest.

Michael snorts, "You think my world is any better than this one, genius? Why do you think I need to use this world to get stronger? A civil war is about to hit the region I'm in, dragons are about to return and reign fire on every unprotected town and village, demon gods conspire to invade the realm and fuck everyone who gets in the way." he shakes his head at their obliviousness on the subject.

"That's not all though, I can't just take you and a hundred over people with me."

"Why not!? You dropped into our world like an annoying tourist, why can't we go to yours!?" Saya retorts.

"A number of reasons, actually. The first being that if anyone in that world found out that I could travel worlds, there is a high likelihood that they'd capture me and my friends and use us to conquer the multiverse." he leans forwards with a scathing look, "I doubt you guy want the demon god of literal rape to set up shop here." he remarks as they all contemplate such a situation arising.

Michael folds his arms and leans further against his chair, "Then there's also the risk of bringing the zombie infection over to my world. They might be weak shit here, but I for one don't want to see a dragon, troll, or even a strong Nord becoming one. If there aren't any mutations happening here, then they'll definitely happen there.

There's also the massive risk of modern technology falling into the wrong hands. The survivor's knowledge alone would cause massive death and destruction to Tamriel if it was known... Firearms don't exist there, and I for one don't want to see those crazy mages enchant a machine gun to shoot fireballs or some shit!"

Saeko frowns and grips her knees as she leans forwards, "So there's no hope of joining you?" she asks, her intentions became clear to everyone present just by her expression alone.

Michael lets out a sigh, "I doubt most of you would want to go anyway, you've still got family here." he says, looking around at them. Ignoring only Saya as she'd made her opinion on her parents readily apparent.

Saeko shakes her head and stands, "I want to go." she states with determination before looking around at the others, "You may all only hope for survival for you and your families, but I don't." she refocuses on Michael, "I want adventure. To test myself against powerful beings and prove myself... These things I cannot hope to do without your help, Michael." she affirms.

...

"You're just saying this to get in his pants!" Rei growls, feeling as if Saeko was trying to abandon them all.

Indeed, the purple-haired swordswoman blushes slightly at that, but recovers and thins her lips anyway, "I am aware of what I want, just as you all are." she looks to Michael, "Are you willing to grant me this? I swear on my life and ambitions to never reveal your abilities or speak of technology."

...

Michael wipes a palm down his face as everyone stares at him, "Man you're putting me in a bind here... Is it only you who wants to come?" he asks, glancing at the others.

Takashi shakes his head, "I need to find my parents..." he grips Rei's hand, "And I won't abandon those who need me."

Rei smiles at him in return, "My father is still out there, somewhere, too." she says adds and her mother agrees along with her.

Kohta nods, "I'm pretty sure my family is fine in another country, but a world without guns? Even with magic, count me out!"

Michael looks to Saya, only to see her staring back with conflicting emotions flashing across her face. "And you?"

"I-..."

"Saya, you won't try to leave us, right? We still need your help here... There's no one else as smart or capable." Takashi says, wishing to keep her here so that she could help manage the survivors and deal with the more complex situations that may arise.

Unfortunately for him, his words have the exact opposite effect...

"Hmph! I'm going with Saeko and the cosplayer! I might be useless here, but that'll change with magic! I'm a genius! I'll master it in no time!" she says, more to herself than anything. Indeed, most of her decision was made to spite Takashi for all the times he'd spurned her.

Kohta was shocked by this, but not too surprised. He had a huge crush on her but also had a massive inferiority complex, which stopped him from making any meaningful moves toward her. That, plus her affections towards Takashi had made him all but give up hope on such things. So much so that he couldn't even voice an opinion against her decision... It was her choice to make, after all.
