Isa made a conscious effort to conceal the unusual occurrence he witnessed. He didn't want this information to worry Aisyah and Nadia, potentially spoiling their vacation. With the unspoken agreement to continue their journey without discussing it further, they pressed on.
After two hours of driving, they reached Surabaya. At the Surabaya toll road, they took a break and stopped at a rest area for Aisyah and Nadia's prayer routine. Isa went to a mini-market to buy some snacks and beverages, taking about 17 minutes.
Once ready, they set out to leave the toll road and venture onto the country road known as the "pantura road." This road was renowned and bustling in Indonesia before toll roads became prevalent. Currently, there is no toll road directly connecting Surabaya to Banyuwangi, their final destination in East Java before departing from the harbor.
The current time was 13:00, and Aisyah and Nadia performed their Dhuhr prayer. Three more prayers awaited them, scheduled for approximately 16:00, 18:00, and 19:00. As time progressed, they reached Ketapang Harbor in Banyuwangi around 20:00. Fortunately, the wait for the ship was not prolonged, and with executive tickets, they anticipated arriving in Bali two hours after the ship's departure.
After ten hours of Nadia's diligent driving, they finally reached Bali, renowned for its appeal to tourists. Nonetheless, their journey wasn't complete; they still needed to find a hotel in Denpasar, the main city of the Bali province. They arrived in the middle of the night, around 00:30.
The clock struck 13:00, prompting Aisyah and Nadia to perform their Dhuhr prayer. Three more prayer times awaited them, scheduled at approximately 16:00, 18:00, and 19:00. As time elapsed, they eventually reached Ketapang Harbor in Banyuwangi around 20:00. Fortunately, the wait for the ship was relatively short, and with their executive tickets, they anticipated reaching Bali just two hours after the ship set sail.
After enduring ten hours of Nadia's dedicated driving, they finally touched down on Bali, renowned for attracting tourists. However, their journey was far from complete; they still needed to locate a hotel in Denpasar, the main city of the Bali province. They arrived in the dead of night, around 00:30.
In the hotel lobby, Aisyah handled the room booking at the receptionist desk, while Isa and Nadia engaged in a conversation about their planned destinations in Bali.
"Soo, Isa, as I mentioned in the car, I've suggested some beach destinations, but we should definitely try to visit the GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) statue. I've seen it, and it's enormous. We can also catch the Kecak dance there, one of the traditional dances from Bali," Nadia excitedly shared.
Isa inquired, "Sure, Nadia. During our investigations, Aisyah and I did visit Bali, but we never had time to explore the beautiful places here. Or should I say, it just wasn't appropriate for us to have fun while working."
Nadia chuckled, replying, "Haha, yeah, it's a bit funny hearing someone who can control time effortlessly saying they don't 'have time' for something. But I appreciate your professionalism and the fact that you're not abusing your powers."
"Hei, guys. I'm already done here," Aisyah announced. She then handed Isa his key, saying, "Here's for you, Isa. You're welcome. You're on the 5th floor, while me and Nadia are on the 4th. And, by the way, Isa, it's not a smoking room, hehe," Aisyah chuckled, revealing her playful trick on Isa. Isa, with a silent acknowledgment in his mind, thought, "Hmph, next time I'll book my own room." Now, they could finally rest and prepare for their next schedule.
As the alarm clock rang in Nadia and Aisyah's room, indicating 4:00, the time for their prayer routine, Aisyah and Nadia got ready. Meanwhile, in another room, Isa was still asleep. Isa had informed them earlier that they would leave the hotel around 8:00. Around 7:00, Isa woke up and prepared for a bath.
"Well," Isa realized that he didn't have any more clothes and pants for the day. He had forgotten to tell Nadia to buy some along the way. "Huh, I'll buy some later. Even though I'm not engaging in any heavy physical activity, this shirt still stinks. I hope they don't mind," Isa mumbled to himself, aware that he would be using his outfit from the previous day.
"Isa? Are you there?" Aisyah's voice echoed, accompanied by a rhythmic knock on the door of Isa's room. Recognizing her tone, he responded, "Yes, almost done. I'll be awaiting your presence in the lobby."
Aisyah and Nadia went to the lobby. Isa, who was ready, followed them. For their first activity, they planned to visit a local eatery for breakfast.
"I saw a porridge cart outside, want to try?" , Nadia suggested. "Yeah, sure," Aisyah replied, while Isa simply nodded, indicating his agreement.
After breakfast, they were ready to proceed with their agenda, visiting one of the bustling beaches in Bali, Kuta Beach. "By the way, this trip will be a short one, around half an hour," Nadia, acting as the driver, informed them.
During this journey, they would stop by a tourist center to buy souvenirs. In Indonesian culture, it's customary that when someone goes on vacation, they bring back souvenirs for family, friends, or colleagues. While this might seem peculiar in Western culture, it reflects the strong familial ties prevalent in Indonesia and some other Asian countries.
"I can't wait to give the kids some 'pie susu.' Last time I gave them, they loved it," Nadia reminisced. "Pie susu?" Isa was a bit puzzled, not understanding what Nadia meant. "Oh, you don't know? Pie susu is delicious, seriously addictive," Nadia quickly responded.
"Well, I don't know about that, Nadia. The last time I tried, I'm not a big fan," Aisyah joined in their conversation. "Hahaha, you just don't like sweet foods. Once you have something sweet, your body goes out of shape immediately," Nadia responded. "Ugh, Nad, you can eat a lot and not gain weight." Aisyah was slightly annoyed and jealous by Nadia's comment.
They finally arrived at the souvenir shop. Isa saw this as an opportunity to smoke, so he stayed outside while Aisyah and Nadia went in to choose the souvenirs, and undoubtedly, 'pie susu' would be among them.
As they continued their journey, they planned to make a stop at a tourist center to buy souvenirs. In Indonesian culture, it's customary that when someone goes on vacation, they bring back gifts for family, friends, or colleagues. This practice reflects a sense of familial connection prevalent in Indonesia and some other Asian countries, which might seem a bit peculiar in Western cultures.
"I can't wait to give the kids some 'pie susu.' The last time I gave them, they loved it," Nadia reminisced about a fond memory. "Pie susu?" Isa expressed a bit of confusion about what Nadia meant. "Oh, you don't know? 'Pie susu' is delicious; I swear it's addictive," Nadia promptly responded to Isa's question.
"Well, I don't know about that, Nadia. The last time I tried, I'm not a big fan," Aisyah joined the conversation. "Hahaha, you just don't like sweet foods. Once you have something sweet, your body goes out of shape immediately," Nadia teased.
"Ugh, Nad, you can eat a lot and not gain weight," Aisyah retorted, slightly annoyed.
Upon reaching the souvenir shop, Isa saw it as an opportunity to smoke and chose to stay outside. Meanwhile, Aisyah and Nadia entered the shop to select the souvenirs, with 'pie susu' undoubtedly making it to the list.
Aisyah was slightly annoyed; she knew that Isa was smoking, and she truly disliked cigarettes. Nadia, being able to read Aisyah's expression, said, "Come on, Aisyah, let it be. It's okay once in a while. Besides, you can't force someone to change. By the way, why do you hate cigarettes so much?"
"Nadia, I just hate it... I don't have any specific reason. But throughout history, there have been numerous health issues associated with cigarettes. Well, even though that can't be a valid reason nowadays, diseases are just myths. BUT I STILL HATE IT," Aisyah stubbornly stuck to her beliefs. "Okay, whatever," Nadia replied.
Isa, undisturbed by Aisyah, managed to finish three cigarettes. When Aisyah and Nadia were done, they continued their journey. "We'll only go up to the beach border there, about 15 minutes away. We'll rent motorcycles to explore the area more easily," Nadia informed them of their plans for Kuta Beach. The clock showed 9:30, and they finally reached the border of Kuta Beach. They parked there and prepared to rent motorcycles. Nadia went to the rental place and secured two motorcycles for them, one for Isa alone and another for Nadia and Aisyah together.
Their first destination was the shoreline. Nadia led the way as they navigated through the crawling traffic, reaching the beach around 9:45. When they arrived, Aisyah was excited, and Isa, despite being only mildly interested, was happy.
They could be classified as workaholics, and Isa's daily duties had been automatically delegated to the system's avatar, freeing him from his usual heavy workload. In his heart, he thought, "These two days... being able to forget and escape from that job, I am truly grateful." Aisyah and Isa felt relieved and delighted to finally see the beach
"Here we are, guys! Enjoy your vacation!", Nadia shouted to both of them.
Aisyah immediately ran to the bathroom to change her clothes. Quickly finishing, she hurriedly ran to the beach and plunged into the water, now super excited.
(Note: Her swimsuit is fully covered, VERY covered, don't worry.)
Nadia followed Aisyah, while Isa, only watching, saw them having fun at the edge of the beach. "Isa! Come join us!" Aisyah shouted towards Isa. Isa, also a bit excited, joined them in the water, and at that moment, all their hard work felt fully rewarded.
Unconsciously, time seemed to pass quickly, and the clock showed 10:30 when they were having fun at the beach. They took a break and were ready to enjoy instant noodles, Indomie.
(Note: No explanation needed, Indomie is so popular, and IT'S NOT A RAMEN.)
Before that, they went to the bathroom to change clothes. Aisyah and Nadia finished first before Isa. They were ready to enjoy their Indomie soup; the warmth of the noodle soup made the atmosphere warm after playing in the cold beach water. Nadia noticed that Isa took a bit longer in the bathroom and said, "Oh, Aisyah, Isa takes forever, huh?"
Nadia said that to Aisyah. "Yeah, the fastest man alive apparently isn't that fast when changing clothes, hahaha." Suddenly, Isa came, and surprisingly, he was wearing something that made Aisyah and Nadia burst into laughter.
"HAHAHAH, Isa, what the heck are you wearing?" Nadia immediately said. It was apparent that Isa was wearing a predominantly pink shirt with a little white accent and shorts with a Balinese local motif that did not match his personality.
"Oh, Isa, why didn't you remind us that you didn't bring clothes? We could have helped you choose before coming here," Aisyah tried to help Isa. This guy, besides being very stiff, also had a very poor sense of fashion. "Ah, it's okay; I don't care too much," Isa replied. Nadia then said, "Yeah, also, why care about what people say, right, Isa?
They still chuckled a bit about what Isa was wearing. Without saying anything, Isa also joined in eating the prepared Indomie. They casually discussed a few things there. After everything was done, the time was around 11:00, and they wanted to explore the streets of Bali a bit, planning to continue the journey at 11:30.
They walked away from the beach, heading towards the sidewalk. Suddenly, Nadia felt a stomachache and hurried to the bathroom before the journey began, leaving Aisyah and Isa alone.
While enjoying their vacation, Aisyah felt a bit uneasy and cautious. She was afraid of the potential danger from terrorists. Isa, who was quite familiar with Aisyah's skeptical nature, knew that she believed every happy moment could be followed by a sad or unpleasant one.
Without waiting for Aisyah to say anything, Isa stated, "Never let that fear get to you, Aisyah."
Aisyah was slightly surprised, but she immediately understood Isa's intention. "Isa, I just don't want—"
Isa interrupted, "I already told you, don't worry about terrorists. Aditya has taken care of everything for us. No one will dare to attack us directly because that would be like suicide."
Aisyah responded, "But why are you so sure?"
"Isn't that obvious?"
"You are the one who actually proved it, ignoring the system and the 'entity', in this entire world, throughout heaven and earth..."
