SUPRISE !

Back in the hospital room, Clara was trying to relax, but her mother was showing overbearing concern about her boss coming to visit and her brother's sarcastic remarks weren't helping.

She kept replaying Mr. Mathew's visit in her mind, his piercing stare with no smile, his alluring fragrance, and his detective questions. Why did he care so much?

As though it was planned to happen at the same time in synch with her thoughts, her phone rings on the bedside table." It was a message from Sarah".

"Girl, I have some serious tea. We need to talk. Call me ASAP."

Clara took a deep breath and passed a look to her mother for privacy. "Mom, I need a few minutes alone to speak to Sarah she sounded urgent and private. Can you give me some privacy?"

Mrs. Jennifer raised a brow but nodded. "Of course, sweetie. I'll just be outside if you need me, don't strain you too much.

Immediately after her Mother stepped out, Clara dialed Sarah's number. Sarah picked up on the first ring.

"Clara! You won't believe what I heard at my workplace, Sarah said, her voice low like she was whispering, trying not to be heard by someone.

"Sarah, calm down. What's going on, what did you hear?" Clara asked, feeling so eager to hear and anxious

"It's about your boss, Mr. Mathew. There are wild rumors about him, you won't believe People are saying he always flunts around with different women from various parts of the world really, models, etc and that's not all ...….".

Before Sarah could finish, the door to Clara's room creaked open. Clara turned, expecting to see her mother, but instead, a shadowy figure whose face was blurry from the dim light hallway slipped inside, the door closing quietly behind them.

Clara's grip on her phone tightened. "Sarah, I have to call you back."

A nurse walked into the room, explaining to Clara about wanting to run a full body, blood, and immune test on you, making sure nothing was missed and making sure all is accurate.

Clara's breath stuck in her airway, as she struggled to say. "What do you mean, is something wrong with me ?"

"Making sure you are safe from any future damages or complications. saving you from any dangers. Miss Rodriguez. And Mr. "Matthew paid in full for all expenses, so please be relaxed.

Clara's head spun with a whirlwind of emotions, confusion, anxiety, and a strange sense of discomfort. It was just a careless fall just a regular accident, could have been anyone... But why is Mr. Matthew so considered ?

 ...........

Clara stood in the hospital hallway, Sarah said she would come follow Clara home as her Mother had to prep for work and get ready her younger brother for school, her head spinning. Mr. Mathew walked to her and had just handed her a discharge form, his expression cold and plain not a smile in view.

"You' can go home and get prepared for recovery, resume work after your full recovery, Clara," he said softly. "I've taken care of everything."

She stood in shock blinking, trying to process his words. "Everything sir? And a full recovery away from work? I can resume tomorrow sir, I just got my job. I don't feel in pain.

"I paid your hospital bill in full and some addictive to help you rest well," he replied, with a scene of concern in his voice. "You don't have to worry about it."

Clara's heart skipped filled with a lot of questions. "You... paid for everything? Why?"

Mr. Mathew's eyes filled with affection. "Because I care about my employees, Clara.

Her mind raced. Was he going to deduct this from her salary? Was she now indebted to him? The uncertainty of this gesture left a sea of questions in her.

Before she could respond, a nurse walked in between them. "Miss Rodriguez, I'll be assisting you for the next few days. Mr. Mathew has arranged for me to take care of you until your results come back."

Clara's eyes widened in disbelief and confusion. "A nurse? But I'm fine. I can take care of myself."

The nurse smiled kindly. "It's just a precaution, dear. We want to ensure your recovery goes smoothly."

Clara's thoughts were tangled with fear and gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Mathew. I... I don't know what to say."

"Just focus on getting better," he said, giving her a reassuring smile.

As they walked exiting the hospital, Clara noticed a man in a dark suit and sunglasses standing by a black SUV. He nodded at Mr. Mathew and opened the door for them. The nurse helped Clara into the car, and they drove off, leaving the hospital behind.

The ride was quiet, Clara's mind replaying the events of the past few days. The fall, Mr. Mathew's unexpected visit, Sarah's unfinished telling of what she found, His gratitude everything felt surreal. what lies Ahead of this mysterious happening…..

When they arrived at Clara's apartment, the nurse and the security detail escorted her inside.

Mr. Mathew's driver tailed slowly behind Clara's car, as he intended to know where she stayed. On arrival, he instructed the driver to stay at a distance as he observed from a distance while his phone pressed to his ear. He seemed agitated.

"Dr. Sandro's phone isn't connecting," he muttered, to himself "I need to speak with him, where could he be." He instructs his driver to head towards Dr. Sandro's hospital, hoping to gain access to him there.

Matthew's car halted outside Dr. Sandro's hospital. He hurriedly steps out his mind buzzing with questions.

He had been trying to reach Dr. Sandro with no success and had a blackmailer threatening him. Now, Mr.Matthew was staring at a dark, unit building, and a sense of disruptive confusion settled in his stomach

The hospital's entrance was locked, and a faded sign hung on the door: "Closed for Renovation." Matthew frowned. Renovation? This place didn't look like it was being renovated. It looked abandoned. Weeds were growing in the cracks of the pavement, and the windows were covered in dust.

A security guard emerged from the shadows. "Can I help you, sir?"

Matthew approached, showing his business card. "I'm looking for Dr. Sandro. He is my doctor, I came here to see him"

The guard shook his head. " Must have been a long time ago sir, Dr. Sandro hasn't been here for over two months. The hospital shut down suddenly. No one knows why."

Matthew's heart rushed with tension at that unexpected information. "Do you know where he went? Any contact information?"

The guard shook his head "I'm afraid not. He just disappeared sir".

Matthew thanked the guard and walked back to his car, his mind wandering. why would Dr. Sandro leave without a trace? And why had no one informed him about the hospital's closure? I must find him and contact him
