The Petals of Sunflowers and Dandelions

"We live in a world that is ultimately governed by the relationships that we form with each other. From friendships, to familial bonds, to even pacts formed between two parties. Such is the case with this story. Each time a bond is formed, a person gets treated with the positive and negative impacts of a person that they would carry with them for the rest of their -"

The pen dropped and Gil picked it up and continued writing the essay that he was working on. He had something else on his mind that had been bothering him. How could a king have issues? Afterall, he was the most famous person in the entire class, and knew how to talk to everyone. He was also gifted in almost every way, making him one of the most influential people to be around. How could someone of such a status have issues?

He waiting for the class to end and went to the room where people like him went to discuss. How strange... there are people "like" him? Gil was no ordinary person. He was a person with a pact. He was a person who had a pact with a certain someone, which only the "like" minded people knew about.

As he headed to the room, he met with Shikith, another fellow "like" "-minded person. "Fancy seeing you here so early. Usually, you are surrounded by people for a rather long time. It's sometimes very difficult to talk with you." "It does truly hurt. After a point, it becomes rather exhausting to listen to everyone, but I can't let it go. It would ruin my image.", sighed Gil. He wanted to take a break from it all, but something kept bothering his mind. "I need to speak with Clara on this." Shikith smiled, and teasingly questioned, "Are you trying to hit on her again? You know that she's already engaged to someone else." Gil looked at his best friend disgusted by such a thought even uttering out of his mouth.

"No, but I would like to be alone with her, why won't you carry on with your club's activities, servant of Frinia." Gil had something that was really bothering his mind, but he needed a friend to understand and help him through this. Even though he is always surrounded by people, there are only few people he could really trust.

Opening the door, he approached Clara. She sat on the bean couch, reading a book. "Servant of Anubis, to what do I owe this visit?" Truly indeed. These humans are those who have created pacts with mythological gods in order to exist with society. Gil was the servant of Anubis, the Egyptian God of Death. Shikith was the servant of Frinia, the Genesis Goddess of Nurture. Clara, was the servant of Minerva, the Roman God of Wisdom. With such gods having their avatars, it must surely mean that there's wrong with the reality of this world. All in all, the world's structure is what it is, and I as the narrator can only narrate the stories written by the writer.

"I am stuck, and I need some advice. There's a petal that seems to have caught my attention and I have no idea as to how I should approach it. I could approach Sensei, but it would defeat the purpose of figuring it out myself. While I don't know how I got this feeling, it is certainly irritating, and I feel lost. I want to move on, since I am the current version of Death itself, but I can't move on from the fact that I could lose everything. Therefore, I need your advice.", explained Gil, with a rather pale and monotonous tone in his voice. He clearly looked like he needed an answer that only she could provide.

"You want my advice on your troubling mindset, or are you telling me in some cryptic way that something or someone has caught your attention?", questioned Clara. She closed her book and stood up, walking towards the lost Gil. "If the don himself has approached me, then the answer could not be found within your connections."

"There's a petal, that I am intrigued by.", said Gil, while his face started to slightly blush. "This petal is slightly formidable and something that I want to investigate. I want to explore and see how I can interact with this creature and make this creature one of us."

"Your petal is someone that I know of, or would we need to consult Ishtar to understand your complete state of mind?", teased Minerva's avatar, as she came the conclusion of the state of mind that was bothering the king. "Would you mind telling me the name of this petal, so that I could advice you on your future steps?"

"First we need to consult Ishtar anyways, because she's one of the most dangerous humans to approach." Gil cautioned against taking any hasty action that could lead to disaster. As Death, he could see through the hearts of most people, for he would need to judge the souls of humans before they depart to the underworld. He had to ability to judge accurately. "Ishtar might be able to help us out here. Afterall, gods are some of the most despicable beings that could ever incarnate into this world. I'm calling her to the room."

After one call, Ishtar's servant was summoned into the room. She came the room with a rather excited mood, as she could already see the truth written all over Gil's face. "So-so-so... who is the maiden, who caught the attention of the Don and the King himself?"

"Must you always begin a conversation like this, Adoren?"

"Tee-hee. Well, it can't be helped if the great don himself approaches me and asks a poor maiden like me for advice. I mean, if you were to ask me, I would always be ready to get into a relationship with someone, but I have my eyes for someone else entirely. Mais, je ne comprends pas cette situation. I just wish you can tell me what you're thinking and who it is that is troubling your mind."

"Well, I am glad for one thing, that she is one of us. Kore..."

Both Adoren and Clara looked in shock as the servant of Death himself was blushing with a bright red face awaiting either a loud shock or a sign to showcase that he in reality had uttered those words from his mouth.

However, Clara just stood her ground, and with her smile on her face, she signaled to Gil to cover Adoren's mouth before she were to reveal their location to the entire campus.

"Yobe gobe fo bhe kibbin me (You've got to be kidding me)", Ishtar's servant mumbled as her eyes turned slightly green due to her goddess' powers slightly awakening.

"Kore herself. Now isn't that an interesting choice. What caught your attention to her?" Clara was far more amused than the others present in the room right now. "You know, I have the power to end this before it even starts as she's my best friend."

"Then let this be a test. For I want to understand this petal. The petal named Sakurai", exclaimed the now calmed down Gil. Letting go of Adoren, he told the statement that would forever change the lives of whoever is part of this particular story.

"I think I have a crush on Sakurai, the servant of Kore"
