"Call to all the wolves. Show them your true power," Omar said with a devilish smirk playing on his lips.
"Owoooo!"
Noam growled loudly. His voice echoed in the air, amplified. Causing the noise to die down. He got up from his seat. Standing proudly his bloodshot eyes were cast forward staring into the distance.
"That's the loudest I've ever heard you growl. I'm impressed," Omar admitted taking a seat down on Noam's chair. "It pleases my heart to know that only I can make you this str..."
He was cut short of his statements when Noam pulled him into his arms. Omar grabbed onto his shirt to steady himself, the two stopped and locked eyes with each other.
Noam couldn't feel Nathaniel anymore. His favorite addiction had made the demon's intense feelings fade into the background. It went without a say that even the power of a pair of ties fades in comparison to the power of a true blood.
Nathaniel looked away. Feeling a pang in his heart from watching Noam holding Omar in his arms.
"A bluebird informed me that you attended the harvest. So we're you blessed with a mate?" Omar asked.
A million-dollar question that puzzled everyone including Nathaniel. The demon was forced to give Noam his attention to hear his response.
He convinced himself that he needed to learn the alpha's weakness. It was the only way he will stand a chance to defeat him.
"Tell me, Noam. Did you get a mate or not?" Omar insisted when Noam gave him no indication of giving him an answer.
"I did," Noam answered honestly. Omar pushed at Noam's chest trying to tear himself out of his embrace. The alpha tightened his hold, he didn't put much energy on his hold. Nevertheless, it was too strong for Omar to get away.
"Let me go," Omar demanded.
"Don't overreact. I already get enough of that from Lana, you should listen first," Noam let out.
"You gave me your word that you would never attend the harvest or take a mate," Omar cried out anger flaring in his eyes. "I will only listen if your next words are about how you rejected your mate," he went on to say fiercely.
Nathaniel had witnessed people lose their temper before. But nothing could compare to the anger he witnessed in Omar's eyes. The flame that burnt in his eyes sent shivers down Nathaniel's body.
Nathaniel realized it, it wasn't just the alpha's aura that had woken him up. Omar's aura mixed with Noam's formed the essence in the air that was sending him warning signs. It made Nathaniel wonder who Omar was.
"Go on, tell me yhat your mate is in some corner of the world nursing a wounded soul from your rejection," Omar insisted.
Nathaniel saw the hesitation in Noam's eyes. The anger in Omar's eyes grew when he received no response from Noam.
"It's the demon. He is my mate," Noam revealed. A shocking truth yhat caught both Nathaniel and Omar off guard. They weren't expecting to hear him say that.
Nathaniel's heart was in his throat. It was an impossibility that never occurred to him. His body was rooted to the ground, frozen from the frosty news that Noam dropped.
The demon clasped his hand over his mouth. Stunned to the core to hear that he was the moon goddess's choice for a life partner for the alpha of alphas.
It was a twist of fate that came without any warning. Although it did make sense as to why the alpha had no problems bringing him along. It wasn't out of curiosity or because of his lie of being his fan but due to the fact that they were mated.
Nathaniel ran his hand through his hair. Never in a million years did he expect to be a part of a werewolf's life as their mate. Most certainly not of the alpha of alpha, the demon king that reigned supreme over all other werewolves in the world.
"The demon is your mate?"
Omar finally reacted to the news. "You brought him back here to what? Build a life with him?"
"No!"
Noam refuted the remarks firmly. It was not his plan to live with Nathaniel. Half the time the demon only thought of killing him and the other half was drawn to his sister. Noam couldn't stand either of those feelings.
He had not to harm Nathaniel so it was uncalled for, to have the demon plot his doom. It infuriated him and his sister was off limits to Nathaniel even if they are bonded by blood. There was no way he was going to allow Nathaniel to take Lana away from him.
"I brought him here to figure out a way to break our bond," Noam confessed. "The moon goddess fucked me up at the harvest. I can't reject Nathaniel to break the bond or do the blood ritual. So I'm stuck with him until I discover an alternative to breaking the special bond that links us," he added.
Omar sighed.
Nathaniel on the other hand was almost dropping to the ground. He clung to the pillar to keep his balance. The myth of the moon goddess was only ever a story to him. Learning that she had a hand in making him the demon king's mate was nothing short of astounding.
It made no sense why, he wanted nothing but Noam's death while Noam was...complicated.
"Has he tried to come close to you?" Omar questioned.
Nathaniel nearly scoffed. He had done no such thing, in all instances that he was close with Noam. The man initiated it.
"I kissed him," the alpha's guilty voice sounded. Omar's lips parted slightly, the anger in his eyes was replaced with something else. A glint that Nathaniel couldn't quite read.
"You what?" he asked his voice barely a whisper. "Why, did the moon goddess compel you to do that?"
"No, I just did."
"And im just leaving. Let go of me," Omar sounded. Every word was spoken through gritted teeth. Noam obliged and let him go. "Let me know when you "just" fall in love with him," he uttered and marched out of the room.
