Unexpected Breakthrough
“W-Why did you do that? Y-Your back, it is wounded,” Freya's voice trembled with shock and concern as she knelt beside Adrian. Her eyes hovering over his wounded back.
Adrian was in pain but managed a weak smile.
"I couldn't let anything happen to you, Freya. Are you okay, did I push you two hard?" he said, his voice strained but his worry evident.
"I am okay but now you're hurt because of me," she whispered, her voice filled with guilt.
Droplets formed up in Freya's eyes as she looked at Adrian's deep injury. But didn't let her tears fall. She couldn't show her weak self at the moment. Adrian missed that.
He reached out and gently grasped Freya's hand, his touch comforting despite his own pain.
"It's not your fault, Freya. We're a team, remember? We look out for each other," said Adrian with the strained smile.
Freya nodded, her heart heavy with worry for Adrian.
"What should I do? How can I help you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
