I Won't Let Them Live
"So, let me get this straight: someone showed up, fought with you, beat you, and then left. And when you looked for him, he had already disappeared, and somehow the women in the cage were gone too. Is that what you are saying?"
The bandit leader asked Gerard, as he summarized the story after listening. Surprisingly, his voice was calm but also stern.
"Y-Yes, boss, that's what happ–"
Gerard confirmed nervously.
"The heck you are saying? If it was just one person, how could you not defeat him? Are you saying he was stronger than all of you combined?"
The leader questioned sharply.
"T-That... boss... he... he was stronger."
Gerard struggled to respond but he finally admitted as he nodded.
"Even if he was stronger, wasn't he with you the whole time? How did he find a chance to free those women? Are you saying someone else came and freed them?"
The leader asked, growing angrier.
"I... I don't know," Gerard murmured, avoiding eye contact.
