After Oliver had reluctantly gone home, having spent about an hour wrapped up in Brian’s arms, Brian’s arms were now void of the warmth he’d grown accustomed to. He was surprised at how comfortable he was around Oliver. They understood each other. When he looked into his eyes, the same fucked up view of life reflected in there that he had. Oliver got him and he really didn’t want him to leave.
Brian pulled his music player’s ear buds from his ears and stared at the door to his room. “You don’t linger.”
Jake’s sweet smile as he hesitated at the door turned sheepish as he ran his hand through his hair. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” Brian smiled at his uncle, “you don’t linger, Jakey.”
Jake pushed away from the door and walked into the room. He cleared his throat and looked down at Brian on the bed. “We’re doing dinner tonight, and I’d like you to come down. Is that okay?”
