Chapter 34

The sound of the doorbell going off woke Seth up from his slumber. He didn't feel so well. When he came home he ending up drinking more than he thought he would. His head was banging from the sound of the doorbell going off. He passed the front room where the table was filled with empty liquor and beer cans.

"Yeah yeah! I'm coming." Seth opened the door to see his wife standing on the other side. She had short dark brown hair that shaped her face. She wore a business suit that tugged to her slim body. "What did you forget that you were getting the kids this weekend?" Seth scratched his head. "I'm sorry. I had a late night last night." His wife didn't say anything to his response.

"The kids are here to be with you for the weekend." She looked at her watch. "I have to go." "Are you going on a business trip?" Seth questioned his wife.

"Yeah. I should be back by Monday the latest. But I will call you if anything happens." She kissed her kids on the forehead and said her byes. Seth sighed as he shut the door. He turned around to see his daughter looking up at him. He smiled at her.

"Are you hungry?" Seth questioned.

"Are you and mommy going to get back together?" His daughter asked.

"Of course-"

"No, that's what separation means." His oldest son spoke out as he cut off his father.

"Michael. We are not separating. We are just having a down time." Seth spoke out trying to calm his daughter that looked like she was ready to burst out in tears.

"Whatever you want to think. But mom has already been seeing some guy for several months already." Michael walked into the living room. He saw all the beer and liquor containers. "Did you already here the news?"

"What news?" Seth questioned.

"Never mind." Michael closed his mouth. Seth didn't want to play those childish games that he let it drop.

"Are you guy's hungry?" He asked again.

"Dad, it's already one. We already ate before we got here." Michael spoke out almost annoyed. "Okay. Well is there something you want to do?"

"You don't have a PlayStation here do you?" Michael asked.

"No I don't" Seth responded.

"Dad John lets us play games all day!" William spoke out in excitement.

"You dummy." Michael smacked William in the back of the head.

"What was that for?" William snapped back. He looked over in the direction that his older brother was looking.

"Who is dad John?" Seth questioned. His voice was low and his words took some time coming out. "It's mom's fiancé. They are getting married so-" Williams's words were cut off by Michael's hand. "You are so stupid. You were not supposed to say a word about that." Seth started to laugh a little to himself. The boys looked over at their father.

"So…your mother is getting married." For some reason hearing that news didn't hurt him as much as seeing his first love flirt with women last night.

"I'm sorry. She said not to tell you until she was ready, but this dumb monkey spilled the beans." Seth stayed quiet for a moment before walking over to his fridge.

"I'm hungry. I'm going to eat something." Michael walked over to the kitchen and leaned on the counter facing his father.

"So, I'm guessing you didn't hear anything about that huh." Seth turned around and looked at his son. "I didn't hear a word." The sound of the TV being turned on was heard. Both males looked over to see the two younger kids look for something to watch on TV. Michael looked back at his dad.

"What I understand is that mom had been seeing John for a couple of years. So pretty much she was having an affair. Pretty lame that you never caught on." Seth listened to his son not saying a word. "I can't believe you're not going to try to talk mom into getting back with you." He looked over at his dad who had begun to cook some eggs and bacon. "I asked mom why she cheated on you and she said that she felt that she never truly got your heart. Some bull crap like that." Seth turned to look at his son.

"She said that to me when she asked to separate. I told her that I was giving her all I had, and she said it wasn't enough." Seth knew what his wife was saying. He still had his heart set on a certain man, but there was no way he could tell her that. He really tried his best to love her with all his might, but it wasn't enough. He knew about the affairs that she was having, he just never confronted them. He felt like he was having an affair with her because his love was not as pure as he wished it would be towards her.

"If it wasn't because of mom, then why all the drinking. You never drank that much before." Seth took his food off of the stove and placed it on a plate. He stood at the counter, grabbing a fork, he began to eat.

"There was something that happened. Don't worry about it." Seth ate his food. He talked to his son about many things, but Leon would not be one of them. He doesn't want anyone to know they ever had a relationship.

"If you tell me not to worry, it makes me worry." Michael spoke up. Seth looked over at his son. "Sometimes, you should really act your age."

"I do act my age. I'm just more mature than others my age." Michael grinned. Seth just smiled. Everything that he was feeling had flushed away. He enjoyed speaking with his son, even though he had learned bad news.

It might really be fate. Seth thought to himself. He finished eating and put his dishes in the sink after rinsing them. He turned to towards his kids and asked,

"Who want to go to the amusement park?" All three kids raised their hand yelling.

"Me! Me!"
