Going back in time and changing things in the past is not a cup of tea for Loki as she is more like tricking her way out of trouble.
She knows someone who can turn back in time, however when he descended in Genkai his power was greatly restricted, or else he would be sent back to heaven in no time but with this mess, perhaps he is already dead or somewhere deep in someone's skirts.
She's talking about Hermes the god of travel and messenger, back in the Tenkai if not for his low number of believers and followers he would be perhaps the most annoying god to deal with but thankfully he's not.
Loki's plan would be simple as removing some event in history and changing it like how some asshole of a god triggered the Promise Time ahead of its schedule or forbidding David to head to the dungeon to avoid the root of their problem.
But where would she use an absurd amount of power to pull it off?
The answer would be herself, as an embodiment of her Arcanum of Mischief she would be enough battery and purpose to pull it off or so she hope so as the miasma has long since covered the world to restrict their power but as one of the stronger gods no pesky smoke can hinder her.
It's not her first time to change history but it was back in heaven when she had to kill some gods who think too highly of themselves and even if she had to admit that it was beyond her to do it.
"Let's just hope that my gut is wrong this time."
Loki muttered before the table that was served for them, some gods are still alive down in the dungeon to hide from the black snow and a few of Goibniu's close friend is stuck in his restaurant which he built himself and as a testimony of his skill, it has still stood strong against the cold and miasma outside.
"What's wrong Loki?"
Hephaestus glanced at her friend that was stupidly claiming to sacrifice herself to save the world, she remembered that she claim that she had traveled through time multiple times to save someone arse in heaven but she never really thought how could she achieve that with her power.
"Hmmm, I feel something really bad will happen."
With her eyes closely squinting, Loki crossed her legs beneath the table, now that the remaining adventurers are hiding deep in the dungeon except for her Ais that was resting about along with Riveria there would be no one to protect them from danger.
She glanced outside the window where she can look at the now frozen land of Orario where everything is covered by black snow and saw something dark looming at the top of the Babel.
"Hmmm?"
Hestia look up at where her friend is staring and also frozen at the sight she saw, a being of death and destruction proudly looking down at where it was standing, without a thought Hestia grabbed everyone she can on the floor before an attack unleashed by the One-Eyed Black Dragon on the Babel reached them.
Those gods who survive the assassination, the monsters attacked and the black snow was now dead by just a single attack of it.
Some tried to resist but lacked the Arcanum to do it and some only scoffed and thought that even if they die they'll just watch from heaven safe from the upcoming doom not knowing how their fate also lays on humanity's survival.
The Black Dragons' target is not only those gods clumping in a single place but also those adventurers deep on the 18th floor seeking refuge away from the black snow.
The attack reached the former Under Resort and killed most of the remaining adventurers leaving only those who can barely resist it.
The world seems to slow down when they saw the assault, Freya couldn't even believe her eyes when the former glorious Babel had been scorched inside out, even Loki that was grabbed by Hestia was staring at the outcome while slowly falling before the shockwave hit them.
Built by Goibniu they're extremely confident of its structure but it is still creaking madly even just by a fraction of the main attack of the OEBD.
Maybe if they were the target of it they wouldn't be able to offer any resistance and probably be obliterated instantly.
Hephaestus almost screamed out if not for Ram hugging her from behind, they couldn't afford to take its attention at this point as they know that even them are not safe from the black snow.
Like death, the OEBD is still looking below the now-ruined Babel and seems to contemplate something before glancing at them.
Without any warning, it roared before diving beneath the babel destroying the upper structure as it couldn't fit in it before disappearing from their sight.
Everyone was beyond stupefied with their knees shaking, their last remaining hope was now almost beyond their reach and slowly diminishing.
"There's no other way but my way."
Loki with a pale face strongly declares she no longer cares about their protest as even she can tell that no human can fight that monster alone, especially now that all of the remaining adventurers are possibly dead.
"I don't want to repeat myself, Hestia."
Loki's glance softened when she saw her friend barely hugging her with a tearful face.
"I know it's hard but there's no other way than this."
Loki helped her to stand up before looking around, even after their long time knowing each other they only felt a close connection together with Hestia, Hephaestus, and even Freya.
She wanted to add something but a rattle sounded behind her, there she saw Ais barely standing while holding onto the stair handrail with an ashen face.
"Dragon."
Her armor still has a huge hole at its center while the clothes are barely hiding anything on the upper part but she still wears it as she had no other choice than to wear nothing in her possible last fight.
Loki wants to protest but knowing her child's wish and dream she only silently agrees while knowing that Ais won't even have time to battle an enemy with that strength.
'Maybe I'll just let her see its face.'
Loki then proceeded to tell them her plan towards the 18th floor where it all started.
—------------
The dragon that almost occupied half of the Under Resort swiped its tail towards the few remaining adventurers on the floor, leaving the strongest Otar with a few of his Familia members along with Hephaestus deeper in the dungeon.
"Huff…huff"
With half of his body smashed to smithereens, he still grasped his sword with all his might while standing on his ground ready to react to any possible scenario.
He knows that his enemy is already toying with him but his goddess specifically ordered him to wait for someone on this floor even at the cost of his life.
Like looking at a bug the OEBD seems to lose its interest in him before it shows a ferocious smile and then roars furiously in his direction.
The force of its breath alone packs so much force that the strongest adventurer can barely stand on his ground before stumbling around like a piece of rug.
Spent and pained, Otar still forced himself to climb back on his feet but a huge shadow edged over him, like an executioner blade he knew that perhaps this would be his end.
He closed his eyes waiting for his death but the dragon's paw never set upon himself but still hovered just an inch before him, while a man packed with pure muscle and a large shield held the beast before him.
"You are safe with Braum."
"Wha…"
Even with his natural stoic attitude along with his resolve to death he still broke his character when he saw someone easily holding the Dragon with ease.
He knows how strong it is with its raw strength but what he saw is just beyond ridiculous.
OEBD seems to feel something was not right when it glanced above it where the sky was suddenly turning burning red different from its gloomy appearance.
With a cry of a man defying the ruthless gods above, a man emerges like a meteor amidst the burning flames within that even the death of black snow parted away from him.
Immediately the OEBD unleashed an attack similar to what he dished out earlier against the man that was still airborne toward it.
With a boom, a huge shockwave rattled everyone's brain that even Otar almost passed out from the sound itself but the man named Braum blocked it easily with a smile on his face.
He glanced at the battle above but what he saw only questioned his rationality as not even the man was destroyed, but with his shield, he shoved the Dragon deeper on the floor beneath their current floor.
"Wait here."
With a stern commanding voice, Otar looked behind him to see a woman wielding a crossbow while dressed in blue armor shaped in the form of a dragon, a man with a burning draconic armor and spear, and a woman with similar attire but with a weapon closely resembling a small scythe.
"We'll just hunt those who have fallen to darkness."
Before simultaneously chasing the OEBD down into the abyss.
