Chapter 9 : The Politics of Power

After their encounter with the gang in Novigrad, the three witchers decided to head south towards the kingdom of Nilfgaard. They had heard rumors of a powerful sorcerer who was working with the emperor and had been causing chaos throughout the region.

As they traveled, Eryk couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. He kept looking around but couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Geralt and Bjorn noticed his unease and tried to calm him down.

"Don't worry, Eryk. We're witchers. We can handle whatever comes our way," Geralt said reassuringly.

Bjorn nodded in agreement. "We've faced worse than this before. Just keep your guard up and we'll be fine."

They eventually arrived in a small village on the outskirts of the Nilfgaardian empire. As they walked through the village, they could sense the fear and unease of the villagers. They stopped to talk to a few of them and learned that the sorcerer had been causing havoc in the area and had taken over the nearby castle.

The three witchers knew they had to act fast. They made their way to the castle and found it heavily guarded. Bjorn suggested that they split up and attack from different angles to catch the guards off guard. Geralt and Eryk agreed, and they formulated a plan.

As they split up, Eryk made his way to the back of the castle. He saw a guard patrolling the area and quickly dispatched him. He then made his way to the wall and began to climb it. Eryk was always known for his agility, and he moved up the wall with ease.

As he reached the top of the wall, he saw the sorcerer standing in the courtyard below. The sorcerer was surrounded by his guards, and they were preparing for battle. Eryk knew he had to act fast.

He took out his crossbow and aimed it at the sorcerer. He fired a bolt, but it missed its mark and hit one of the guards instead. The guards quickly turned their attention to Eryk and began firing arrows at him.

Eryk leaped off the wall and landed in the courtyard. He drew his sword and prepared to face the guards. The fight was intense, but Eryk was able to hold his own. He managed to take out several guards before they finally overpowered him.

As he lay on the ground, Eryk saw Geralt and Bjorn appear in the courtyard. They quickly took out the remaining guards and rushed over to Eryk. Geralt and Bjorn were relieved to see that Eryk was still alive, but he was badly injured.

They quickly took him to a nearby healer and waited for him to recover. As they waited, they discussed their next move. They knew they had to find a way to take down the sorcerer and end his reign of terror.

While they were waiting, they were approached by a group of rebels who were fighting against the Nilfgaardian empire. The rebels had heard of their exploits and asked for their help in taking down the sorcerer.

The three witchers agreed to help and joined forces with the rebels. Together, they made their way back to the castle and launched a surprise attack on the sorcerer and his guards. The battle was intense, but with the help of the rebels, the three witchers were able to defeat the sorcerer and bring peace to the region.

As they left the area, Eryk couldn't help but reflect on the battle. He realized that even though they were three different witchers from three different schools, they were stronger when they worked together. They were united in their purpose and were able to accomplish great things.
