Katherine at this moment was shivering in fear in her hiding spot, and the sound of heavy footsteps heading her way wasn't making it any better!

"It's alright now Katherine you can come out now."

But upon hearing the same kind voice of the 'golem' that called out to her the girl immediately rushed out of her hiding stop and did nothing short of a flying body tackle on Jack with a thunk.

Tears dripped from her eyes, from the situation and guilt for even thinking for a moment that he was going to abandon her.

well, maybe a little from bumping her head in his metallic frame.

Jack lightly pat her head to soothe Katherine and calm her down as he whispered to the child that was sniffling.

"it's alright now, all the bad people are gone, no one will hurt you ever again with me around..."

With the soothing caress on her head, a foreign gesture for demons, this caused Katherine to slowly fall asleep in his arms from the gentleness he provided her.

How long has it been since she was treated in such a way?

In her mind, she truly wished that this would last forever, a childish yet pure wish, since she didn't want to suffer any more pain, lack of sleep, hungry nights, or even eating any of those horrible unmentionables just to make her feel full despite the consequences that followed afterward.

Jack, smiled a little under his visor a sliver of emotion that remained only to return to his empty look as he started making his plans on how to better help her, first by getting rid of her pursuers, second fixing this church to make it more habitable then finally information.

After placing her in the makeshift bed he prepared the little girl fell to sleep, Jack drew his bow and arrows to keep a quiet space around her while he fixed up the place with makeshift walls using wood and vines until his Auxiliary options complete its recent research focus, using nanobots to create simple house parts, yes oddly enough the suit provided him with a means to make his own base now.

While the defenses would be half of his total armor capability it should handle the usual monsters and wealth-seeking idiots that plagued the area, adding their bonuses to his suit as for what changes had happened...

Only in battle would they show.

For now, with the area somewhat safer, Jack resumed his work in repairing the old and slowly crumbling away church, while absorbing any of the debris that made it hard to transverse through making this useless stuff become Materials to increase his usable nanobots as they were now capable of converting materials into almost anything while the stuff that couldn't be converted were made into blocks as extra supplies to repair this place.

Using some of the skin of the animals that were hunted before, Jack made some clothes for Katherine to help against the cold as well as provide her with some decency and dignity as she still believed that he was a golem thus caused her to care very little of her lack of clothing.

A very conservative styled fur top and bottom, with some leather gloves and shoes, were placed at the side of the makeshift bed.

ever since Jack had arrived in this world, his current looks were that of a bulky armored warrior just like a certain group that praised their emperor every time they fought something, this was the exoskeleton that covered his main body leaving his armored head exposed as that retractable visor of his had spread out to cover the front of his face as his height now thanks to the additions reached 9 feet, that was before he uses tank mode.

So it was no wonder that the girl had mistaken him for a Large golem.

But while she rested, Jack had to deal with some 'rats' that showed up as he dealt with them as quietly as possible before their bodies were added to increase his foundation within this world.

As the suit detected a strange orb-like object forming right beside his heart that made another bar appear on his screen under the energy bar while it was merely ten points the biggest difference between his mana and that of regular magic users of this world was how condensed it was as if someone compressed a swimming pool's worth of water into a bucket.

Something that Jack didn't notice as he really didn't care about since the suit was helping his body become optimized for anything, he put his complete faith into it regardless of what changes it may make on his body.

Right now he drew his bow to its fullest before aiming for one of the people that were after a certain sleeping girl as he could hear their words thanks to the zoom ability of the visor making him capable of hearing anything that was within a kilometer as long as his visor was pointed towards the direction, and it didn't help the newcomers to be capable of hiding since they literally had red triangle-shaped tags above them and when he focused on them the suit was capable of seeing what they had on them.

Upping the information that he collected on his enemies, thus showing off how much trouble he can receive or bring upon his enemies!

Then again his suit's basic abilities were already more than overkill for anyone here how much more if he had equipped the 'big guns'.

But unfortunately for the people that interrupted his repair duty, some silent but deadly arrows were going to rain down tonight!
