"See you after school you little shit!"
"Yeah, see ya!"
Damian replies back to his older sister with a middle finger raised to her as he walks out of their home gate.
His older sister found this endearing and rolled her eyes and gave a middle finger back at her stupid little brother.
This is how their dysfunctional family worked everyday. There's no words of affection exchanged, only cusses and raised middle fingers.

Damian runs to school, he's already running late since the first bus left early than he expected, he would arrive at 6:40am instead of 6am sharp as usual.
"I have such shit luck today..." The 14 year old mutters under his breath in annoyance. He runs after the second bus that's about to leave and waves to it.
Luckily the conductor saw his wave and signaled the bus to stop, so Damian got in safely but in a haggard state as he sat down in his usual seat— the right side of the bus, the two seaters by the window, the middle spot of the entrances of both the front and back.
Once he sat down he started to listen to music, to drown out the loud engine noises and shouts of the conductor.
Damian looks at the rising sun, he opens his phone to check the time— which is 5:57am, and they're still 14km away from Damian's school, which would take about an hour to get to.
To his surprise though, the bus was fast today, incredibly fast, to the point that it was concerning.
"Super Mall! Super Mall!" The conductor shouted in the bus, walking around the vehicle collecting money from those who set their destination to the Super Mall while the bus was moving at fast speed.
But unfortunately, Damian's stop is still far away, they have to pass through a bridge, then a long curved road to get to the place his school is located.
And the bus seemed like it won't slow down any time soon. This made Damian's anxiety rise to a higher level as he started to grip onto the seat handle.
The bus turned the curve in a fast speed, if he didn't hold onto the handle he might've fallen from his seat already. Suddenly, a sharp pain hit him.
Damian looks to his right, glass shards stuck to his arm, as the bus leaned left. Everything felt like it was going in slow motion, the way the old woman beside him slowly fell to the side and is practically floating down to the other person across their seat from the strangeness of it all.
And before he knew it, time sped up once more. The bus toppled over to the side, a loud crashing sound as screams of pain filled the area, including Damian's own painful screams.
A truck hit the bus at the curved cross section, killing practically everyone on the bus. Early buses like these usually has students, over 30 students died from that crash, and some senior citizens and young adults went with.

Damian only feels cold, icy cold.
No warmth felt anywhere, even in himself.
He feels alone, like his mind is drifting underneath the ocean.
The ocean feels more terrifying than space.
In space, you'd be surrounded by light, planets, stars.. but in the ocean...
You'll be surrounded with an endless vast of water, and pure suffocating darkness.

"–oyl... You- Lo... wa-..."
*Hmn..? What's that noise-? no, it's someone's voice. Who's that voice?*
Damian said through his muddled thoughts, messy and unorganized. He couldn't make out what the voice was saying, something about soil..? no.. loyal?
"LOYL! WAKE UP!"
The unconscious male shot his eyes open at the loud voice near his ear. Damian looks to his side and sees a crying child beside his ear as the child kept crying loudly.
"LOYL WAHHHH!! YOU'RE AWAKE WAHHHHH!!!"
The crybaby like child screams at the top of his lungs, as he started to shake Damian violently, until Damian became dizzy.
"Shut up.. goddamnit." He pushes the child off of him with an annoyed huff. Damian feels a growing headache just at the voice of this screeching child.
"Who are you anyways?" Damian asks the unknown boy— who then froze at his question, his eyes widened and he looks at Damian with disbelief.
"Y-You..." The boy stutters out, before a few moments later, he became a crying mess once more.
"WAHHHHHHH!!! Loyl has! Am... Uh... Amne.. Nem..? A-ANEMSIA!!! WAHHHH!"
Damian closes his eyes and plopped down to the ground, sighing loudly. If only he didn't open his eyes to be greeted by this banshee-like child, maybe his day would've been better.
