After Ronald put on his suit and headed downstairs, all the maids and butlers got in a neat row and bowed their heads at Ronald.
"Happy 20th birthday, Young Master Kuangge!" They all spoke enthusiastically in unison.
Ronald paid no attention to them as he merely walked past them and sat at the head of the dining table.
Even though there was plenty of food already prepared on the table, there was nobody at the table besides himself.
It honestly was a lonely sight to behold.
But Ronald wasn't surprised by it, nor did he care.
It wasn't that he had no family or anything like that, but his only family member, which was his father, Arnold Kuangge, was always busy working at his company, so Ronald often found himself alone.
During the times he wasn't alone however, Arnold would always treat him like an absolute treasure. He would always pamper Ronald and always reaffirmed to him that no matter what, he was always right and that he should treat the city they lived in as his stomping ground. This also ultimately ended up shaping Ronald's original character as the typical arrogant rich second generation.
After Ronald finished his breakfast, just as Ronald was about to get up and go kill time until night arrived, one of the butlers came into the dining room and slightly bowed.
"Young Master Kuangge."
"Hm? Is there something wrong?" Ronald raised one of his eyebrows.
It was very rare for a servant to come into the dining room while he was still present, and even rarer for one to initiate a conversation with him.
"I wanted to let the Young Master know that your fiancée will be attending the banquet tonight."
"...Got it, thanks for letting me know. You can resume back to your work now." Ronald stated in a somewhat confused tone as he waved dismissively at the butler.
Although he knew that his fiancée, Luna, was going to show up at the banquet for tonight to break up the engagement with him because she hated him, he didn't quite understand. How did the butler know that Luna would be attending the banquet for tonight?
Luna was supposed to show up on a whim and made no prior announcements after all.
But whatever, it wasn't like that was going to affect him anyways.
As he was about to leave the dining room however, he noticed a wrapped box at the other side of the table.
Assuming that his dad just left him a birthday gift before he went to work, he went to the other side of the table and opened the box.
Ronald then took a good look inside and he saw a fully iced-out custom diamond watch with his name ingrained on it, along with a small sticky note beside it.
This made him confused.
After all, even though his dad doted on him greatly, he was pretty sure that his dad wouldn't buy him something this expensive unless he directly asked for it, which he didn't.
Nevertheless, he was still extremely grateful.
After examining the watch and deducing that the diamonds are in fact real, he then took a quick glance at the note that he had just realized was there. The note only contained one word, but this one word made him question his sanity.
"No, no way. I must just be seeing things. Yeah, that's it, let me just go wash my face real quick, and then no doubt it'll say something else."
After Ronald ran across his 10,000 square meter house to wash his face while all the guards, maids, and butlers stared at him curiously, he dashed back towards his dining room to reread what was on the note.
And it read...
"...Luna."
