Maybe She Loves Me?

"Uhm... Well... I was wondering if you can give me your p-p-phone n-number so I can umm... l-let you know in advance whenever I find something that interests you...? Yeah that's it." Li Wanruo couldn't help but get nervous and start stuttering her sentences.

Although she had a reputation as being a domineering and ruthless individual towards everyone, she couldn't help but become extremely shy whenever she was facing her beloved.

'Okay cool, so I didn't hear it wrong. Seems like this entire novel world is going against me or something like that, that's great.' Ronald was mentally worn out at this point.

Although he has only completed one plot so far and was about to finish his second one, ever since he was reborn back into the beginning of the novel, nothing has been going his way at all.

He just didn't understand why all the heroines had been acting so weird lately, and thought about it for a while.

Originally he was planning on rejecting Li Wanruo and maintaining his personality as Luna's slave, but he decided he was just going to ask Li Wanruo directly.

"If you're willing to answer one of my questions, then sure, I don't mind." Ronald knew that he had to get to the bottom of this even if it was out of his original personality to do so, otherwise he won't be able to sleep peacefully at night.

"Of course my bel- Young Master Kuangge, what is it?" Li Wanruo knew that she had to restrain herself and had to get to know Ronald more slowly, otherwise he'll start distancing himself from her.

"Although I'm aware that you're afraid of how grandiose my background is, how come you act so differently towards me compared to some of the other major families out there?" Ronald was aware how stupid of a question this had sounded.

But it was a better question than what he was going to ask which was something along the lines of why she had been so nice to him, which would've made Li Wanruo realize that he was just pretending to be arrogant which would've undoubtedly ruin his personality and the entire plot.

After hearing what Ronald said, she didn't reply to him but recalled all the times she had helped Ye Fan out and harmed Ronald in the past, and couldn't help but had an extremely depressed look on her face.

"What's wrong? You still haven't told me." Noticing the depressed look Li Wanruo had on her face, he felt like that Li Wanruo was being forced to act this way, and secretly became a little cheerful, but the last time he started assuming things, he got completely proven wrong, so he decided to wait and hear Li Wanruo out.

"Ah, well my parents told me to treat you with the upmost respect, so I had no choice but to listen to them." Li Wanruo really wanted to tell him the exact reasons why she had been acting like this, but she knew that both for Ronald and her sake, she had to keep it a secret from him until she is able to kill Ye Fan.

"Hmm okay, well here's my phone number." Ronald could only secretly sigh and obediently give her his phone number.

Not all is lost, however, because at least he managed to confirm and scratch out the idea that Li Wanruo was being forced in his head.

Although he wasn't the greatest at reading human emotions, he can tell that she was lying from the fact that she kept avoiding making eye contact with him.

But he knew that there way no way to get Li Wanruo to tell him anyways without breaking his original personality.

So Ronald could only grit his teeth and decided that he'll go double check with the system about it again whenever he gets back home.

"Thank you Ronald, do you need a ride home?" Li Wanruo was ecstatic after she got Ronald's phone number, and couldn't help but start daydreaming about how fast their relationships was developing.

Including the knowledge she has in her past life, she decided that she'll slowly show Ronald about Luna's true colors and then marry him.

"No need, I only love Luna, bye." Ronald shivered up and just wanted to run as far away as possible after noticing the wide grin on her face after she had received his phone number.

'Does this heroine... love me by any chance?'

'No, I have to absolutely make sure with the system again about all my concerns after I get back home.'

"Are you sure Ronald? It seems like you don't have a ride back home." Li Wanruo had been paying attention to the entire entrance of her auction house because she couldn't contain her excitement to meet Ronald again, and naturally saw that the person dropping him off ended up driving away.

"How did you know that..." Ronald had a fearful look in his eyes.

Has Li Wanruo been stalking him all this time?

Does Li Wanruo actually love him?

Or was he just thinking too much?

Thinking about all of the potential possiblities in his head that caused both the heroine and the plot to start changing, he started to have a headache.

Of course, this didn't mean that he assumed the plot was completely ruined yet.

"As my VIP guest, of course I have to take care of you well!"

'As my beloved Ronald, of course I have to take care of you well.' Li Wanruo really wanted to say this instead, but she knew that if she tries to rush their relationship with each other now, there will be serious consequences especially for Ronald later down the road.

"Well I already have some bodyguards on standby." Ronald really wanted to run away now, he felt like Li Wanruo was too poisonous.

"Okay, I won't bother you anymore today then. I hope you have a good rest of your night, Young Master Kuangge." Li Wanruo could tell that Ronald wanted to leave, and so she decided to not bother him for the rest of the day, and turned back around to the auction house.

After watching Li Wanruo disappear from his sights, Ronald glanced at Iris who was on the sidelines seemingly cautious of something, and sighed.

'Well, on the bright side of things, at least I managed to bring Iris to get on my side today and confirmed that she was still working with Ye Fan, so at least I don't have to wait for her tomorrow.'

'Haah, I really need to have a good talk with the system again after this to verify and double check on some things...'

'I hate this novel world so much.'
