Laurent approached Calvin rapidly with an excited look.

-"You must be special uh?"

-"What do you mean?"

-"Well it is not known that much, but the Hao clan is specialised in martial arts and are really prideful. For him to give you so much respect as to lend you a hand, he must have seen something in you."

Calvin was listening to Laurent with open ear. He knew of the existence of the Hao clan, unfortunately, not much was known about them, so every bit of information was important.

-"I totally get it too though. You were able to perform quite some good punches for a F class student. I think that if you train enough, you could be strong enough to compete with Yellow grades even though you are a Grey."

-"Oh, on that topic, I had a question. Is it possible that the school made an error when analyzing my awakening results?"

Laurent looked at Calvin as if he made a bad joke.

-"The academy may not be perfect but in all its years, it has never once failed to give the right grade to a student."

Calvin didn't understand how it was possible. His Id said he was Grey and so did his crest, but it made no sense to him since his parents were both high rank and that he unleashed such powerful blows earlier.

-"I know you might think you were wrongfully classified, every year there's at least a couple students like that, but I can assure you you were not."

-"And don't worry so much, it's not all that bad, you throwed quite a powerful fist at me earlier."

Calvin, who thought Mr. Gin didn't mind the hit, was now looking down at his feet with a red veil covering his face.

-"Haha! Don't worry, I don't really care about it. I'm just messing with you."

Calvin sighted out of relief. He had many questions as to what was happening to him but he couldn't answer them now.

-"Since we finished fighting and I'm quite good as you say it, can I leave early?"

-"You have some big balls to ask me that! Well, I don't really care if you're in my class or not from the moment you win at the exam."

-"So, I can go?"

-"Yes, you can. But don't forget to practice, because if I don't see you improving, you'll have to fight me, are we clear?"

-"Yes!"

Calvin thanked the teacher, picked his book and headed out to his dorm where he read continued reading.

When he finished it, he heard a voice in his head that said:

[Condition complete: read a book about traits. Reward: [Avid learner] has been acquired.]

[Avid learner F Blue: You learn and understand quicker.]

This time, Calvin heard everything correctly and freaked out completely.

-"Who's here?"

He rushed to the kitchen where he picked up a knife and ran to the bathroom where he locked himself up.

Some time passes and Calvin started to think that it was all in his head but the voice felt familiar as if he heard it before.

And that's when it hit him that it's the same voice he heard when he punched Alex.

He then tried to remember what it said.

'Condition complete. Reward, [Avid learner]? [Avid learner] F Blue. F Blue.'

He understood. F Blue was a traits grade and [Avid learner] was the trait. The voice said he acquired it so it probably meant he had the [Avid learner] trait now.

He had to test out his theory, so he left the bathroom and picked up the visualization book and reread it as fast as he could.

When he finished it, he had an Eureka moment.

He closed his eyes, staring into the darkness. He focused solely on the idea of the traits. He could feel them, see them, hear them. They had a little something to them.

The mana condensing to create the traits and give it's power to humans, he could see it clearly now. He peeked at the first one he saw, a small red orb of light that moved saccadely and that never stayed still. He could hear it chant words.

'When you act on raw emotions or on a whim, I shall aid you by giving you strength.'

He then looked at another small ball of light, this time blue. It didn't move alot and looked focused.

He then approached it to try to hear it too.

'Read, train, learn and I shall help you understand the teachings you seek.'

He then looked deeper in the darkness where he saw another small blue orb. This one looked shy and it was difficult to spot be he could hear it nonetheless.

'When you need me, I shall help you hide your emotions and not let other peek at your real grade.'

Calvin had a lot of questions right now but his whole attention went to the next ball of light.

He turned around to see a giant white sphere, blasting luminous rays everywhere. He tried to approach it to hear it, but he woke up in sweat as soon as he tried to.

He thought back to what the smaller orbs said and realized he had just achieved visualization. He now had a theory of what happened. He thought that maybe the shy blue orb might have hidden his real grade at the awakening, hence his Grey grade.

'But, I really wonder what that big white sphere was.'

He still had a lot of questions but he couldn't hide how happy he was to not really be a F Grey.

'It still is weird to only have three traits, but I got a Red one. I guess I really am lucky.'

Calvin then used the rest of his afternoon trying to use his traits.

After some long hours, Calvin managed to learn how to activate and deactivate [Concealment], which he kept off as to not create further confusion.

He also tried out [Impulsive power] but not much happened since he was in a really good mood right now.

For his final trait, he read the basic martial art book in a digital version on his phone and quickly got the hang of it. He could now create a small air current with his punch and kicks, but nothing too crazy.

After spending his whole afternoon using his traits, Calvin was out of stamina and mana. It had used up all his energy and so he went to bed fairly quickly, leaving for the dream world.

Calvin woke up refreshed and back up to full energy. He glanced at his phone, where he saw a couple of notifications from the messages Leo sent him.

Leo#25543:'Are you ready for the inter group class? They said we would all love it!'
