A few weeks later, matters cooled down and Jungkook and his team had bravely carried 7 rescue operations while the governments of the two countries had compromised too, causing the war to end.

"Everything is fine now. I hope there will be no war, at least in the next decade." Jungkook sighed as he talked to himself.

All he didn't know that his fate had something else stored in for him.

The next day, he received a message which said that he was called to the Headquarters of his Intelligence Military Agency.

When he went there, he noticed a team of his senior officers sitting seriously.

"Mr Jungkook, please have a seat." one of them said.

"We all know that the nation is highly

grateful to have such a fearless officer like you. You have always shown your patriotism while carrying various operations. This is the last time we need you to show your patriotism." one of them said seriously.

"What can I do, sir?" Jungkook asked.

"See. This will not be easy. You have to resign from the South Korean Military permanently." an officer said.

"Why sir?" Jungkook asked, with his voice raised.

"Please be patient. We have multiple reasons."

"You have been accused of helping a  North Korean spy named Ji Eun during the state of war. All the witnesses and proofs hold you guilty and we have no choice other than removing you from the military. Tomorrow is your trial in the court where you'll have to sign the resignation letter. We truly believe that you've done nothing like that but to prevent rebellion and controversy between the two countries again, we have to take this step."

"Still, we can't take your rights away, you have a choice. Either you claim that you are innocent and give the details of that girl, or stay silent and accept that you betrayed the country. But you know what, if you tell about that girl, the public will go crazy and will not only destroy that girl and her family, but also develop a rebellion and hatred towards North Korea again, causing tension between the two nations. The country will lose a lot of money again. Now, the choice is up to you."

Jungkook had nothing to say. He felt numb. A stinging pain in his heart was felt. He couldn't do anything but leave the room without any more arguments.

The next day in court, Jungkook chose to remain silent, even though Jungmi had insisted him to do the opposite.

"The court hereby holds Jeon Jungkook guilty for helping a North Korean spy in escaping from the country and is hence, declared a traitor. He shall no more serve as an officer to the South Korean Army." The judge declared.

Jungkook saw news about himself on the TV where people were calling him bad stuff, unaware of the fact that he was the one who had declared himself a traitor in order to save his own country.

All he wanted was one last chance. Only if he could get one last chance to help his nation and prove his patriotism.

Prove that he was not a traitor.

Prove that he loved his nation than anyone else.
