Before he knew it, a quarter of that bread was done for. William sat at the corner while taking the support of the tower's wall.
He was full now yet his mouth was still very dry. William opened his notifications one by one.
'I leveled up once more, which increased my vitality to yet another point.'
After acknowledging his level, he went to the chats.
The world chat was still a mess, William looked into some of the many messages and grimaced in reaction.
Many had completed this wave in a matter of minutes and he knew by fact that he had taken more than half an hour, yet there was no way of confirming it.
He went to the chat with Tom again where the man had rambled on and on for a while now.
"Just how good is that sword? Damn."
====
[Tower_TOM: Bro, I completed the wave! It was so scary, my tower got hit one time.]
[Tower_TOM: A rat had come from behind, what about you? Are you done?]
====
There were no more messages after that making William believe that the guy thought that William was not going to complete it anytime soon anyway.
This made him grit his teeth hard, William didn't want to take someone's understanding or pity, he hated it.
He went to the world chat and almost everyone was crying that they lost some tower health. Some even lost around 10 points due to their stupidity.
'The same happened to all of us, huh, one rat came from the back. As if it was programmed.'
His eyes went to the book that he had thrown outside the tower at the time of this fight.
All the corpses were still outside mushed but were still bearable to look at.
====
[Tower_WILLIAM: I am done too.]
====
William wrote and got up to look at those corpses up close yet some messages popped right that second.
'The guy has no calm.'
====
[Tower_TOM: Really?! That's so great!]
[Tower_TOM: Are you okay? Not hurt right? The poison that came out of their mouths was terrifying. One even spit it on me but I fortunately dodged. That's great, right?]
====
William read them all and was surprised by the revelation.
'They could spit that acid?' He couldn't help but imagine what would have happened if it hit his book or his skin.
William instinctively shivered.
====
[Tower_WILLIAM: It didn't spit on me, but glad that you are okay.]
[Tower_TOM: Thanks. Even my sword's durability is lowered. I don't know how long it can last now.]
[Tower_WILLIAM: Wait, is that sword breaking or something already? Becoming Blunt?]
[Tower_TOM: No, it's not. But it's written in the description. The durability went from 100 to 92. I had to use all my points on healing the tower.]
====
'Oh shit, heal the tower.'
William went toward the description of the tower again.
====
Tower points- 12
Upgrade options- 5
The second Wave reward already received
Third wave in 00:4:53:42
====
He directly went to the 'Upgrade Options' which had increased from two options to five.
====
Tower Maintenance- 3 Tower points per 1 Tower Health point (Already full)
+5 Tower's defense ability- 5 Tower points
Increase tower height- 10 points
1 attack bot- 15 points
1 defense bot- 15 points
Random elemental buff- 50 points
====
'Attack bot and defense bot…' William's eyes flashed with excitement after reading the names of these bots.
'But it's too expensive... so is this elemental buff, what even is that?'
William tried to think of some theories behind something like this but in the end, he wasn't able to.
When it comes to elements, he only knew the periodic table and barely remembered even that.
'Ugh, it's not like I can get it anytime soon anyway. For now…'
William gritted his teeth in frustration and clicked on the first option, 'Tower maintenance'. The tower quaked a little.
[Tower health restored by 1! Remaining health- 99/100]
William nodded in agreement, even though it felt like a waste of points, William had no choice but to improve it.
William had thought about the possibility of saving up for one of the bots but health was important.
Getting defense was still a good option, he had the points yet clicked on the tower health restore option again with a pained look.
[Tower defense restored by 1! Remaining health- 100/100]
'Just like that, 6 points gone.'
William still had six more that could get him the defense upgraded yet he refused to use them.
'Defense will not be an issue, now this time.' He looked at the tome with determination.
He picked it up and saw the options again.
======
+3 strength - 0.90 Vitality (30 minute duration and 10 minute cooldown)
Thorn Punch- 1.5 Vitality (10 minute duration and 5 minute cooldown)
Weakness locater sense- 2 Vitality (1 hour duration and 2 hour cooldown)
======
William looked at the options with seriousness, he was sure of what he needed to do now.
He went to the corpses one by one and examined them.
"Yuck"
They were in a pretty bad shape, some flesh was stuck on the ground while some had their face all pulped up. In short, they were in a very gruesome state.
William gulped in disgust, he was seconds away from vomiting not because of the state they were in but the foul smell they reeked.
He looked at the notification in his status object on the wrist and made four of the corpses become the tower points.
They all became flashing lights again and went past William inside the tower.
He followed them yet again but there was no trace of them at all.
He left two lying there because it was important to keep a reserve of some food supply even when it was plain out disgusting.
William went inside the tower with the extra four points and clicked on the defense option this time.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
"WOAh"
William felt the tower vibrate under his very eyes until it stopped to normal again.
He went outside to look at the changes if there were any yet it was not what he was expecting at all.
