Chapter 5

"Robert," Vita called out to the man with tears in her eyes and looking aggrieved.

Paddy skimmed her lips and muttered in a small voice, "How pretentious."

As if she was the one who was being bullied.

Robert frowned, looked her over, and said, "Are you hurt?"

Vita explained, "I didn't. It was Zara who got hurt. Page hurt her hand."

"You haven't recovered yet. You ought to stay at home." Robert said.

His words clearly expressed concern.

Zara kept her hand covered. She gave Page a smirk and said, "Robert, Vita wasn't feeling well, so I brought her along. Knowing you spent last night with another woman disturbed her."

Seeing Robert's face show displeasure, Vita Felt a little uneasy. She pulled Zara's hand and said, "Well, don't mention it again. It's nothing."

Zara said discontentedly, "How can you be fine? You've been crying for a long time. If you hadn't come shopping, you would still be crying now."

"I..." Vita lowered her head and didn't know what to say.

A pitiful and aggrieved look.

Page glanced at Vita. She had thought about imitating Vita because it would probably please Robert more. After all, Vita was his first love, and he had been having an affair with her.

However, Page could only think. She couldn't act as pretentious as Vita.

Pretending to be gentle and virtuous was better. Page felt satisfied with herself.

Robert didn't expect what Zara had to say.

"Where did you hear that rumor?" Robert asked.

"Everyone is talking about it, ok?" Zara replied.

Robert looked at Page with suspicion, "I'll investigate it. I have nothing to do with her."

Pag was not at all surprised to hear what he said.

Robert had always feigned not knowing her in front of outsiders.

"We are unrelated." Page repeated.

Zara said with relief, "Good to know. Vita can relax."

She gave Page a meaningful look.

She thought Page spread the rumor.

Especially when she noticed the hickey on Page's neck, she taunted, "Shame on a slut like you for trying to get involved with Robert."

Page sneered, "Just got bitten by a mad dog last night. I'm also curious as to who spread the rumor."

Even after being called a mad dog, Robert remained calm. He looked at the hickey on Page's neck.

Even though Paddy seemed scared of Robert, she still defended Page, saying, "You must all have misunderstood. Page would not have an inappropriate connection with Robert."

"It's fine."

Without the ten-year engagement, Page and Robert would have been strangers.

Robert finally took Vita away.

Page tried to put the matter behind her and continued shopping with Paddy.

But soon, Page had to remember this again because when she and Paddy separated into the parking lot, she saw Vita.

She was standing by a car with a happy smile. Arno was helping her carry what she bought, which were all luxuries.

Robert paid for those items. Obviously.

Robert had also given Page a bank card, but she never used it.

Because she already knew that Robert was only willing to spend money on Vita, his true love. He gave her luxury cars and villas, which was envious of the others.

Thinking back on it, she just wanted to leave here now.

But Vita saw her, too, and came toward her.

"Page, thank you for operating on me and keeping me alive, or I might not have been able to stay with Robert," Vita stated with a smile.

Page said without emotion, "This is my duty. And I got paid. For the money, I'll save it even if it's a dog."

Vita was embarrassed because she realized what Page's words meant.

But she still pretended to be gentle and did not show displeasure. Vita took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry for misunderstanding you just now. Robert has checked. It was just a stupid staff who spread the rumor. And he had been punished."

"Oh, he didn't realize it was you. It appears that he is not that smart."

Vita was shocked. Page appeared to know about what she did.

How was it possible? She didn't leave a breach. Even Robert didn't notice.

Page was lying to her. Definitely.

"Don't kid me. I wouldn't do such a thing."

"Don't call me that. I should remind you that you're two years older than me." Page calmly replied.

Women are sensitive to age, especially when they hear they are older than other women.

Vita gripped her hand tightly and prepared to say more but she noticed Robert coming in this direction.

Several men in suits followed Robert.

"Take those items to the villa."

Robert said without emotion. And the entourage echoed, "Yes, sir. We've picked out the latest fashion for you."

Those following him were the people in charge of the mall.

Vita joyfully approached Robert and wrapped her arms around him.

"You're so nice, Robert, to give me so many gifts."

"That's what I should do," Robert remarked lightly.

Vita smiled softly, full of sweetness.

Page felt nothing about it and even wanted to fall asleep.

There was nothing for her to do here, so she intended to go.

As she was about to turn and leave, Vita coughed. Robert suddenly called out to her, "Page, don't go yet."

"What's wrong?" Page stopped and asked him.

"Vita is not feeling well. Come with us to the hospital and get her checked out," Robert replied.

Page thought it was so ridiculous. Having operated on her, it was surprising that she had to protect Vita's health.

"Give me 100 million dollars." Page said coldly.

Robert frowned and looked inexplicably unhappy. He paused for a few seconds before answering, "Ok."

Page snapped her fingers in satisfaction, "Let's go to the hospital."

They got into their respective cars. Page was about to drive to the hospital when the passenger door suddenly opened. Robert got into her car.

Page raised her eyebrows, "What now?"

"I want to talk about Vita's illness," Robert replied.

"Okay." Page agreed. She started the throttle, "I'll tell you everything I know, Mr. Snow."

For some reason, Robert felt unpleasant now.

"Vita..."
