CHAPTER 7: HELP! MOTHER

Assisting the other servants at the Robinson's compound, I heard a voice calling out to me but I had no direction of where it was coming from. I ignored the voice mawning the grasses stubbornly lying at a corner. While singing melodiously to myself I heard the same voice again and this time, it called out to me aloud "Julienne! Julienne!!" The voice screamed aloud. I turned my head backwards towards the direction of the fence behind the mansion. I saw a hair hanging at the fence and I was almost terrified. That was Rachel's hair color yeah I wasn't wrong about that. I slowly sneaked out from the sight of the other servants heading towards the fence at the back yard.

"Rachel...Rachel... What're you doing at the mansion at this hour? Don't you think you're a taking a big risk that would get your entire family into trouble?" I questioned her while she brought out her face nodding her head.

"I'm here because of your mother, she's in trouble. Mrs Emilia had her rogues barge into your house this morning. Your mum is in a bad state right now and she needs you." Rachel cried out while I widened my pupils glaring them at her.

My heart beat was racing very fast and I could stand and do nothing. I climbed the fence quickly escaping the Mansion. I fell into a heap of weeded grasses while Rachel helped me in standing up to my feet. I left her behind, running home to my poor mother. While I was running tears kept dropping down my cheeks from my eyes. I wondered how much trouble she might have caused my innocent mother. Getting home, I saw mother on her knees pleading with the rogues Mrs Robinson brought to our home. Mother's face was bleeding and I was very mad at those men. The anger in me was boiling and I tried approaching them but a hand from behind stopped me. I tried removing the hand but it won't let me go. I turned backwards and it was Rachel stopping me from dealing with those rogues. I gave her a stern side eyes but she ignored my stares shaking her head vigorously.

"Better stop your nonsense and let me go. I'm not playing games with your right now Rachel." I warned in a low tone while she wiped off my tears with the tip of her fingers.

"Don't do anything stupid Julienne, Your mother wouldn't want you to get involved. These men are heartless and if they see your appearance they might be ordered by Ma'am Emilia to kill your mother and there's nothing you can do about that because you're just a commoner without a voice." Rachel replied me while I fell into her arms crying.

I watched mother from a corner being totured by these men. She was served some punishments that were unbearable for her to handle. I felt like going right there to save her but Rachel's words kept coming to my mind. I darely wished I could save mother from this illness. I thanked Rachel for informing about mother's current situation and after that, I left heading back to the mansion.

★★At the mansion★★

I sneaked back into the mansion going into the servants quarters. I met Damian on my way but I ghosted him because I was mad at his entire family. He was surprised at my behavior and he was forced to ask me the reason I did that. Damian ran after me, dragging me backwards while I removed my hand from his. I tried walking away but he stopped me. If I had it my way he would be the one I would have poured my anger on but I was just a nobody in this cruel town.

"You don't hold slaves in that romantic way, you maintain a distance with them. I will go in to freshen up and get ready for today's punishment. I can't wait to go back home I'm tired of seeing everyone's face at this mansion." I said to him taking two steps backwards.

"I don't get the reason for your attitude in this early hour. Your face gets so ugly whenever you pull such an angry face and it won't change anything at all...." He replied me while I interrupted his words immediately.

"Exactly it won't and that's the reason you should stop already. Just leave me alone and let me do my job please." I pleaded with him walking away.

Damian stood there surprised at my guts and he suspected that something was wrong but couldn't place his hands on them. He left heading back upstairs to his courtroom. I returned back to the servant quarters climbing the bunk to my bed sobbing secretly. I refused standing up from the bed anytime soon because I was clouded by my emotions. Mother was in an ugly state and that was something I wasn't going to act ignorant of. How I'm expected to act like everything was okay when it wasn't? She might regret giving birth to me again I wondered.

Heading towards his room, Damian overhead his parents discussing in their bedroom and decided to listen to their discussions. He placed his ear on the door of their bedroom listening keenly.

"I feel very pleased and satisfied now".Mrs Robinson said to him in a low tone being careful from being heard by anyone.

"Hope Miranda was severely punished on her daughter's behalf?" Her husband asked her while she gave out a broad smile.

"Obviously! I made sure that her face bleed and you could have seen how she pleaded for mercy. Oh! Please madam Emilia have mercy on me...hahaha." She mimicked mother laughing out aloud.

Damian was very surprised at the conversations of his parents. He was ashamed of them and hated the fact that such evil people were sitting comfortably in his life as his own parents. Damian left immediately, heading downstairs. He went straight to the family's car garage getting into a black Honda car parking in there. He drove out to my home. Reaching there, he saw mother still on her knees and being humiliated by those men. She was being mocked and tortured. Damian came down from the car approaching them with so much anger within him. Rachel was at a corner watching all of these. She assumed that I must have informed Damian about mother's current situation but I didn't do any of that.

"What do you all think you're doing? I guess you're having fun treating a lower class like this right?" He questioned them as they shifted away from mother moving backwards in fear.

"Damian what brought you here? Have ma'am Emilia sent you here to end my life finally? I'll still beg you as I have pleaded to your mother. After all I'm just a worker in your father's cattle ranch." Mother cried out to him.

Damian felt pity on mother as he aided her in standing up. Her knees were brutally injured along her face. Mother's nostrils were bleeding and her face were reddish and swollen from the tears. Damian requested she follows him to a nearby hospital where she would be given a proper attention but mother refused in fear of being hitten again. Damian understood the reasons for her fear but still urged her to listen to him. Mother finally agreed, leaving with Damian to a hospital. Damian forbidded those rogues from telling Mrs Emilia any of these or they would pay with their lives. They agreed to keep shut while they left my home in silence.
