"Move!" Ku Jian ordered coldly and the woman raised a brow. One of them was in the spirit-awareness stage and the girl was at soul awakening, but the other boy, he could not feel a cultivation level from him.
"You walked with that energy manipulator, what happened to the heaven-seeking master that followed you through that door?"
"Move!" Ku Jian said and the woman frowned. They looked down on her and her clan?
"I will have to arrest you back to our clan to..." she started to say.
"Drop dead!" Ku Jian said and she literally dropped from the sky, dead. Nti Anem waved his hand with a sigh and a portal tore open.
"You both are similar in some ways, the way you kill," he said to Ku Jain.
"She was in the way," she answered.
"We should go. Word of the demon race has spread. Very soon, this place will be swarmed with people. Even though I am not worried about your ability to kill, I am definitely worried about his highness' ability," he said and nodded to Ed who walked through the portal. Ku Jian followed after him quickly and then, Nti Anem, leaving behind the battle and the cultivators who knew Ku Jian stiff in place.
"That was Lady Jian, right?" Lady Mai asked Ku Nam who stared blankly at the place she had just left.
"Energy manipulation?" Ku Nam muttered in confusion.
"A cultivator can learn such?" Ikan De asked.
"This means a lot of things. There are more energy manipulators in the light realm than other worlds we know of; one, those she was with then were probably all energy manipulators; two," Ku Nam analysed
"That many?" Lady Mai asked.
"Even those in the light realm seem unable to know about them," Ikan De said.
"Energy Manipulation can't be learned by cultivators. Unless under a special condition that we do not know of; three, Uncle and the clan will be happy with this development; four," Ku Nam said.
His last sentence caused Ikan De to pause slightly and glance at Ku Nam solemnly. Of course, any clan would be happy and this in itself could shake the power balance between the two clans. Now that even Di Wong had seen this action, it was bound to spread. Still, what was he thinking by saying these words out loud? Was he trying to remind those around that this was not a good thing for them? Even if one was too much in awe to figure it out right now, they would later.
Was he trying to place a target on Ku Jian's back? No, this was beyond placing a target. After all, others from their world would have thought of it eventually. Why did he have to remind them? Why did he have to be the one to place the target on her back? The only thing he could think of as the reason was that he wanted others including himself to know he was placing a target on his cousin's back. He wanted to state his stand. If others were afraid of doing anything because of the clan's presence, they do not need to worry, as he would not mind and may probably let the issue die in the light realm.
He looked around and sure enough, so familiar faces walked away with a sure unreadable look. At this, he sighed. It seems that all is not well even in the Ku clan. He had always wondered why the Ku clan chief made him heir even when he had a child of his own. Others thought that this was because they favoured a male over a female, which was a very mortal thing to do. He himself thought that it is because Ku Nam was stronger, but he heard she had reached spirit-awareness and he disregarded this thought. It seems things are more complicated than he thought.
"We should leave," Ku Nam said, but Lady Mai looked round at those who were fighting and frowned.
"How can we not join the fight? This is the responsibility of all those who cultivate the right way," she said.
"Are they any who cultivate the wrong way, the unrighteous way?" Ku Nam asked and she frowned even deeper.
"This is not what I mean,"
"We leave before the others start to gather. Then we will not be dragged into a war against the demon race. That is not why we are here," he turned and said to Ikan De, who nodded in response.
"We will be scored by the entire light realm," Lady Mai said and Ikan De paused. True. A lot of those from other worlds were joining the fight. Not because they cared about the light realm, but because they did not want the light realm to feel they do not care about them. This will cause a crack between them. Already, the light realm existed apart from other worlds and those born here could not leave. People of the light realm have not been able to leave for a long time. Doing this to them would look bad.
"A few of us leaving does not represent other worlds or even our own," Ku Nam seemed to read his mind.
"She is right, at the very least, we still stay have to stay in the light realm for a little less than three more millennia, it would not look good on more to leave," he nodded to those leaving in the distance. And Ku Nam frowned.
"They too think just a few of them leaving is not a bad thing, it is looking quite odd," she said.
"Too bad the light realm cannot break relations with other worlds regardless. They will be too isolated. We should still leave. It is not that we do not care, but that things have become more complicated. It is better you stand aside and judge from a distance to know whether to involve yourself than to be forced to. We leave," he threw a jade slip in the air and a rift tore open and they left quickly. Ikan De nodded to his fellow disciples and they followed in haste. Lady Mai did not wish to be left behind so she gritted her teeth and entered quickly.
They had left just in time; the portal winked shot just in time for another to open and the cultivators of the light realm paused.
"The three!"
