Chapter 27: Skating.

Li Wei didn't know when he fell asleep hearing to Ling Yue's flute but by the time he woke up it was already 6 in the morning, an hour late to his usual time. He got up and thought of going for a short jog before coming back and preparing breakfast. He remembered he had invited Ling Yue for breakfast.

He freshened up and went down to jog around the estate when he saw the most funniest thing he has ever seen.

Ling Yue was sitting on the hard cement ground rubbing her butt and trying to stand up with the support of a wall. Her pets surrounded her and seems like they too were stunned looking at their master like this.

Pfttt.... Li Wei couldn't stop any more. How could he? Ling Yue's expression right now was just too adorable. His loud laugh caught Ling Yue's attention and she turned to look at him. It took some time for Li Wei to stop laughing and he observed Ling Yue has her skates on. Ling Yue was removing her skates when Li Wei walked towards her with a big smile on his face.

"Good morning Ling Yue" Wah.. Starting a morning seeing her face first was the best thing. Thinking about it, it was also because of her that he slept peacefully. Hehe.. His smile broadened further. Ling Yue simply glared at him as she stood up. How dare he laugh at her? Hmph.

She didn't respond and started walking towards a bench where her shoes where placed. Li Wei chuckled at her reaction. Someone needs to be coaxed.

"I see you that you need help. How about I teach you skating?" Ling Yue stopped in her tracks and turned to Li Wei. She really needed help.

"You know how to skate?" If yes, then she would gladly take his help. The mountain area was not quite suited for skating, so she never tried it there. Since she would be staying here for few weeks, it was best to learn it here.

"Yup. I know skating, skiing, surfing and many more" seems like there were still things that the all-rounder Ling Yue hasn't perfected yet. Hehe.. What a nice opportunity. He should bag it and advertise himself to her. She doesn't need his help in business, but she would approach him first if she needed help in these things. These were just a piece of cake.

"Oh.. Then can you teach me how to skate. This is my first time skating" she got a free teacher. She should make the most of this opportunity. Li Wei agreed and helped with her helmet, knee pads and wrist guards before bending down and putting her roller skates on.

"The most important thing is balance. Put your feet a shoulder width apart, .... bend you knees and squat.... Lower your backside toward the ground and lean slightly forward in a comfortable squatting position ... Careful ..... Right ... Good ... This stance will prevent you from toppling over." Li Wei started explaining and demonstrating the basics before supporting her to skate along the walking track.

Ling Yue did fall every now and then but soon it got better. She did not fear much since it was quite exciting and Li Wei was there right behind her, jogging. They laughed whenever she fell down, and kept checking on the pet trio every now and then.

BaoBao was teaching something to DouDou which for Li Wei, seemed like tackling enemies down as BaoBao was jumping in the same place for quite some time and DouDou started imitating him after some time. Xiao Bai, as lazy as ever, sat on the bench where they left their belongings watching the walkers pass by.

They stopped after an hour and went back to bath and get ready for work. They cooked breakfast together in Li Wei's flat and went to office together. Li Wei never had such a wonderful morning before. He was all smiles when he entered Li corps. He smiled at everyone who greeted him. Everyone were stunned looking at their boss so happy. Not like their boss was sad before, but today he was glowing.

"Yo. Good morning." Liu Shan was flirting with the receptionist when he saw Li Wei entering and greeted him. Li Wei, who was all dreamy and sunny till now, turned cloudy and everyone felt sudden chills. Of course Liu Shan didn't recognize the change in atmosphere as usual and came to Li Wei.

"Hmm. Good morning. Did you sleep well last night?" Li Wei completely forgot about that decayed ring. He still had few conclusions to draw out.

"Yup.. Not only sleeping well, but I also dreamt well. I dreamt of being in Bali surrounded by the beautiful ladies in bik...."

"Give that ring back to me." Li Wei had no interest in listening to his dreams. Seems like he and Ling Yue were the only one's affected. Liu Shan stopped illustrating his dream when Li Wei asked the ring back. Though he had no interest in it, where were his friend's manners. Hmph.. He will just return it back.

Liu Shan returned the ring while grumbling about something. Li Wei looked at the ring before keeping it in his pocket and walking towards the elevator lobby.

[Liu Shan: Crazy punk, Ungrateful bast*rd, Even enemies shouldn't have a friend like you. Where is my belated birthday gift? Heartless human, Blood sucking Vam..]

"Liu Shan. You can take a week long break" Liu Shan's crazy inner rambling was cut off when he heard Li Wei granting him a WEEK LONG BREAK. His mouth was wide open as he watched Li Wei disappear at the end of the corridor.

[Liu Shan: What kind of bad friend am I? Li Wei gave me a weak long break even after knowing that I didn't protect my system well. Can I be anymore ungrateful? Why am I so heartless? I was bad mouthing my friend behind his back. Even enemies shouldn't have a friend like me. Wuhuu...]

The employees passing by looked at Liu Shan's crazy and comical expressions before going back to do their tasks.

"Boss, here is the information you have asked me before." Ning Tang, the CEO of Z Heights, put a bundle of documents on Ling Yue's desk before taking a seat in front of her.

"Are you thinking of investing in one of these?" Ling Yue has previously asked in to collect data about newly established start up pharmaceuticals. Ning Tang knew that his boss was very good at investing but didn't his boss dislike medicines and hospitals?

"Hmm.. We are already in many sectors. Medical sector is good too. So why not give it a try?" Ling Yue shrugged her shoulders as she went through the documents.

"Oh yes. I heard CEO Li was here yesterday." Ning Tang didn't believe when his employees told him about CEO Li dropping and picking up Ling Yue. Like hell he would believe it. Since when did CEO of the majestic Li corps have so much time. Nonsense.

But later his employees showed him the sneaky pics they took and he was forced to believe.

"Yup. He will be here daily, and it's not for business, so don't stop him if you see him entering." Ling Yue didn't lift her head from the papers so missed Ning Tang's look. He was appalled. So this girl knew how to make friends. He was once mercilessly rejected by her when he offered friendship.

'We are collaborators. Don't get weird ideas into your head.' - that was what she told him few years back. Well, he did have plans of dating her before but she never glanced at him and he later lost interest. He understood that it was just a momentary attraction which soon passed.

But he still cared for her. She was like a sister who can sometimes be completely clueless about the world. Who knows what sorcery that crafty CEO manoeuvred on this little girl. Sigh. He soon left her office and Ling Yue carefully went through each and every document. She was honest when she told that she wanted to invest in medical sector.
