Chapter 64: National Topper.

BANG ...

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?" Su Rong's loud voice echoed in the living hall when he found out the law suit filed against Su Rui. Why the hell did she go against someone protected by the Li family. And they don't even know to which powerful family Ling Yue belonged to. Su corps had a huge loss in shares and stocks few months ago and they were still not completely out of the situation. They couldn't afford to offend anyone right now.

"Dad. I didn't accuse her. How can she command the employees if she is not the mistress? Does people like her deserve to get into Li family?" Su Rui questioned. She was so jealous at Ling Yue's life and couldn't watch her seeing happy and smiling while being doted on by the Li family.

"What do you even know about her? Who knows if she is the daughter of President Xen. I know you are jealous of her but should you have used that useless brain of yours before doing something. Do you even know how powerful Z Heights is? Of course an useless trash like you cannot compare to her. Now go and write an apology to Miss Ling." Su Rong shouted and Su Rui eyes watered. Ling Yue was no daughter of President Xen. But these people would not believe if she says she is the mistress.

Su Rui was never used to be in the inferior position to Ling Yue. But today she was being asked to write an apology letter. Was told that she was useless. Her heart burned with rage to tear down Ling Yue's face. Su Rui didn't reply back to Su Rong and ran into her room. She was so angry that she couldn't think of right and wrong. She wanted to tarnish Ling Yui, and she would do that. She will not apologize to anyone.

"Big Sis. You are too easy on her. She keeps insulting you as soon as she sees you." Li Mei complained. She was not happy. She was angry and vexed at that Su Rui. Ling Yue looked back from the passenger seat and chuckled.

"I know she is irritating, but it's not completely her fault though. She blames me for her mother's death and though she is the young miss of Su family and Qin family, she was never pampered like one. She too has grown up in the same toxic environment I was once in. Greed and anger are in human nature. I would have been surprised if she doesn't keep targeting me. I think she will at least shut up after this law suit." Ling Yue explained and this somewhat calmed down Li Mei.

Everyone is what they are, because they are made to be that, not born to like that. It was same with Su Rui too. But this doesn't justify her actions at all.

"Hmm.. But Big Sis. You too were in that same house. But you are very different from her." Li Mei said. Her Big Sis was an angel. A complete contrast to those Su's. Ling Yue smiled hearing this.

"I was lucky that I came out of that house. Who knows even I would be craving for their superficial love had I been still locked there. Only after leaving that place did I realize that there are many other good things in this world. I don't have to waste my time on them." Ling Yue said calmly and Li Mei beautifully smiled. She loved this Big Sis of her's.

Even Li Wei, who was the silent driver, smiled hearing her. Ling Yue was actually too matured for her age. It was just that she was now comfortable enough with Li family to bring out the trapped child inside her.

Soon the discussion steered to Li Mei's studies, exams, results and future opportunities. Li Wei never expected that there would be a day when his little sister would actively sit and report about her studies and future plans. Li Wei initially thought of joining her in some business school. But Ling Yue had exposed her to many different fields. Science, technology, humanities, arts etc. Out of all, Li Mei chose technology. She liked the world of computers. Li Wei and Li parents were now completely tension free about Li Mei's future. Ling Yue has voluntarily taken everything upon herself.

Reaching home, Mother Li first rushed to Ling Yue and checked on her. She just left home for few hours and both the men scared her away. She had to go to work even when she was sick.

"Aunty. Don't worry. I am completely fine now. I am not that weak. Now give me something to eat and I and Li Mei will go to study." Ling Yue said and mother Li fed both the girls again. The butler and the two maids now somewhat understood who Ling Yue was. Seems like she was close to Master Shen. And since they were asked to setup a study room for Ling Yue at Li mansion, they assumed she owned some small business. But they knew she was super rich looking at the gifts she sent when she was in abroad.

"Yup. But oxygen is more electro-negative than nitrogen. So the electron flow will be from oxygen. Of course you will have it from nitrogen too. But that will be the minor product." Ling Yue was explaining organic chemistry to Li Mei and Li Wei too was accompanying them. He somewhat felt jealous looking at his sister. She was spending a lot of time with Ling Yue.

Li Mei asked few more doubts and Ling Yue explained. They checked the key after an hour and went back to the answers which were wrong. They even went and referred other books when they felt the key was wrong. Though Li Wei didn't understand everything in chemistry, he can tell that Ling Yue was a brilliant student and an excellent teacher. She had a lot of patience and explained some questions more than three times to Li Mei. Li Wei thought of something and turned on his phone.

COUGH ... COUGH ... COUGH ..

Ling Yue and Li Mei stopped their discussion and looked at Li Wei who choked on his breathe. Li Mei started patting her brother's back and Ling Yue handed him a glass of water which he gulped down his throat.

"What happened?" Ling Yue questioned and Li Wei showed his phone screen which had the ranking list of B.tech entrance exam few years ago. Li Mei too came and looked at it. Ling Yue was in top 8 of the ranking list and this test was conducted among almost ten lakh students all over the country. She got 8th out of all those students and that too when she was lot younger than all those. What more? She even had olympiad medals in her list. Ling Yue and Li Mei smiled looking at this. Li Mei already knew about this long ago.

"Why did you not tell me about this ever?" Li Wei questioned. His Yueyue was so wonderful and he didn't even know her complete achievements yet.

"What is there to tell in this? It was already more than five years ago." Ling Yue shrugged though she was happy that Li Wei recognised her hardwork and was amazed. Li Wei pulled Ling Yue to him and hugged her. He never attempted engineering related exams but he was always number one in whatever he attempted. And those first ranks always earned him celebrations and rewards at home. Li Wei felt sad thinking she must be all alone during those times. He knew his uncle Shen would be busy with his military base and wouldn't have so much time to celebrate with her.

"Congrats. You did a great a job. How about I reward you?" Li Wei asked Ling Yue who was locked in his arms.

"No need. That was a long time ago." Ling Yue but Li Wei still insisted.

"How about we go on a trip?" Li Wei asked, exciting Li Mei.

"Trip? Where?" Ling Yue questioned. She did roam around the world many times but that was either alone or with her assistant for business.

"Might be to some other country. For a week or two?" Ling Yue raised her brows hearing this. Week or two? This young master Li sure has a lot of time on his hands.

"President Li seems to have a lot of time." Ling Yue said and Li Wei pursed his lips. He too didn't know from where he had to cut that two weeks time. Li Mei too didn't bring that matter anymore since her final exams were nearing and she wanted to make her Big Sis proud. Might be she can go a trip later.

"Yue'er, MeiMei, Wei. Come down and have dinner." Mother Li's voice finally made the girls pause their studies and Li Wei stretched his body as if he was the one who did the study for hours. This earned him a scoff from Li Mei.

"Hua'er. Tell me what happened. Did his majesty force you into this marriage. Tell me. Don't be scared." Jiang Yuan coaxed her desperately. He was devastated after hearing the announcement of the marriage between Min Hua and the emperor of Huang dynasty. Who will not be. It was just yesterday when they both were hugging each other and today this news was the talk of the kingdom.

"Hahaha.. Commander Jiang. I understand your mental state right now but that doesn't mean you an assume whatever you like. How could you even think that I would choose you, a poor commander, over the mighty emperor of Huang dynasty? I am promised to be the queen. Why would I leave that and choose to live in a forest with you?" Jiang Yue stood rooted hearing those harsh words from Min Hua. He took slow and uncertain steps towards her but stopped after hearing her next words.

"I did like you for sometime, but you are nothing in front of the throne. You can leave and please don't come here again. I don't want someone to see us and cook up any rumours. Leave." Min Hua's tone was so cold that Jiang Yuan needed time to process her words. This was not the Min Hua he knew. His Hua'er was warm and cheerful, always trying to jump into his arms.

"Tch.. You can think after you go back to your old and smelly house in those mountains, but for now, LEAVE.." Jiang Yuan clenched his fists and his jaws tightened. He had a whirlpool of emotions wrecking his insides right now. The woman he loved didn't even think twice before discarding him. His heart, ego and pride was hurt and he had no idea how to let all these out. He badly wanted to strangle the woman in front of him but he couldn't.

Jiang Yuan didn't wait there anymore and jumped down the window to leave. Min Hua didn't stop him. She looked at his parting figure till she made sure that he was safely out of the palace. She mechanically closed the curtains and doors and sat on the bed while blankly staring the floor. She hurt him. She hurt her Yuan. She saw the pain his eyes. But ironically, it was caused by her and she wouldn't even have a chance of healing his broken heart.

A tear slid down her cheek and then another followed it till her tears turned into silent sobs and her lips kept mumbling sorry. Tomorrow, she had to travel to Huang dynasty to get married their. She already knew what kind of life she will have there. A loveless, dark life. Of course she feared it. She was very scared right now. But amidst all this, what hurt her more was the awareness of Jiang Yuan being broken because of her.

She wanted to tell him everything so badly, but she knew the consequences of it. Jiang Yuan would fight for her. He would not back down. And it would only end with him being as the traitor and getting beheaded in the public. She would never want that to happen.
