By the time Larry muttered the words, Kaiden's face suddenly flipped a switch: he became sad and his mood got pretty muddled up. His mind was in such disarray that the last thing in his mind was to consider eating food. Not even their Cookist could prepare a meal as sumptuous enough to cause him to want to indulge. Food became the last thing on his mind as he dropped himself heavily on the couch. The news was huge, even more so that he felt as if he had just gotten drenched by three bucketfuls of freezing ice water.

He stayed with his mood and Larry simply let him be.
