Kendra swifted to the edge of the bed, almost falling off, she slowly opened her eyes to her surroundings and it was dawn on her that she wasn't in her house. She was trying to figure out what happened in the club the night before but the headache wasn't taking it easy on her. Just then, Gavin walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped round his waist and a small one which he was patting his hair with.
Kendra flawed out the moment she saw Gavin and stood on the bed, holding her head with her left hand while she pointed her right hand at Gavin whose thoughts was unpredictable under the cold face.
"You! You.....you took advantage of me?" she yelled.
Gavin who was leaning against the toilet door while she was preforming her drama, hissed and grabbed some clothes, neatly packed in a nylon and headed back to the bathroom but Kendra stood in his way.
"Really? Is this how you are? Taking advantage of a drunk lady? Was this the compensation you wanted?" she yelled at him and Gavin grabbed her by the waist and before she could say anything, Gavin kissed her deeply.
"If I want anything like such for compensation, I'll do it when you're with your senses so you can remember every bit of it" his romantic side showed up but didn't last as it was accompanied by a frown.
"But do you know what you and your friend made me go through yesterday? I'm sure you had no idea, if not, you won't be accusing me of such allegation."
He paved his way into the bathroom, leaving Kendra to ponder over what he said as she couldn't remember anything that had happened the night before. She took her seat by the edge of the bed.
Gavin walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed in a casual wear.
"Don't sit like you're sorry about what happened"
"Of course I am" she snapped quickly, Gavin looked back at her and grinned.
"Then I must say you've agreed to compensate me"
"I never said that, I told you once that I have no money to compensate you with......."
"What's your name?" he asked with his brows raised.
"Kendra"
"You sure know that that name is too pretty for you..... " Kendra wanted to cut in but he stopped her as he raised a finger and shook it.
"Don't cut it. You're not beautiful, at least, not as the name. You still have the card? Call me by Saturday, then you'll know how to compensate me. Mind you, your friend is in room 105. Bring her along too, she also has to compensate me for saving her ass" he said and left the confused lady, smiling and chuckled at his guts.
"What a gut! Who does he think he is? What if I don't call you?" she said, shuddering her shoulders.
The door opened and Gavin pooped his head through the small opening, "Then get ready to find another job" he said and shut the door.
Kendra bit her lower lip. Her phone, on the bedside table, beeped as a message dropped in. She reluctantly picked the phone, it was a message from Camellia, it reads:
"Where have you been since yesterday? We can talk this over, baby. I miss you so much, please, come back soon"
She huffed and went to her notifications, she has several missed calls but the last one jolted her memory to reality, it was Flint. She quickly grabbed her things and rushed to room 105.
She knocked rather banging on the door, Elena's voice emerged from the room, "Who's it?"
"Open up, it's Kendra"
Elena opened the door and went back to the bed, she looked so beautiful except for her messy hair which had been her signature.
"Are you sober now? Flint just called me, we have to hurry to work now"
"Work? What work? And who's Fli...... " she stutter, trying to remember the name
"Flint!" she snapped, confused and surprised
"Yes, Flint, who's he?" she asked, moving away from the bed to the window side.
Her eyes clearly appreciated the beautiful view it beheld, she shut her eyes, pleased with the gush of fresh air that hit her face, making her face covered with some strands of hair.
Kendra stood up from the chair she was seating on and approached her. She turned Elena to stare into her eye, staring at her eyes as if she was looking for something. She gently placed the back of her hand on her forehead and neck, Elena, clearly understanding what she's doing, walked away from me.
"I'm fine" she mumbled
"I'm not sure you know what you're saying, Elena. See, there's no time for discussion right now. Get in there, freshen up and let's head out for work"
"I resigned!"
"What?" Kendra yelled, surprised.
"When? When did that happen?"
"I just resigned, I can't take it anymore, Kendra. And I hope I can reply on you on this"
"Wait! This is happening too fast, when have you been thinking about the resignation? And have you submitted the letter?"
"Aren't you happy for me? This is probably the first time I'm standing up for myself"
"Of course I'm happy for you, sweetie but this is too sudden for me to comprehend "
She moved closer to her and held her hands in hers.
"I know but I want to live my life to the fullest now. Thanks to yesterday, I felt what real happiness feels like, I haven't felt that in a long time. I'll do everything to keep that feeling"
They both moved to the bed and sat at the edge, beside the bedside table.
"About what happened yesterday, do you remember anything? Like how we ended up in this hotel?"
"No!" she raised a brow.
"I was going to ask you about that too"
"Shit! " Kendra swore
"What's wrong?"
"We'll talk about that later, let's get out of here. We'll talk about your plans later in the evening and about how you felt last night, it's good but there's other ways to be happy, I was just out of my senses yesterday. Promise me you won't drink anymore"
"Sure, I won't!"
