"IS IT the Bloom Disease…?"

Gyubin smiled after hearing Han Wooju's question. "I knew you'd recognize my disease, Hunter Han Wooju-ssi," she said while wiping the blood off the corner of her mouth with the handkerchief that the Hunter handed to her. The red daisies that she coughed up along with blood had already turned into dust. "You saved our village back then, after all."

To be precise, it was Hunter Han Wooju and the other 'Pillars.'

South Korea was blessed to have five naturally-awakened S-Class Hunters when the Rift Day happened.

One became the president of the Golden Tiger Bureau.

The other four became the Guildmasters of the four leading guilds in the country at the moment: the Blue Dragon, the Red Phoenix, the White Lion, and the Black Tortoise.

Together, they are known as South Korea's 'Pillars.'

But for Gyubin, the Pillars were her savior.

Especially Hunter Han Wooju.

"Thank you for coming and saving our village back then, Hunter Han Wooju-ssi," Gyubin said, bowing her head. "If it wasn't for you, I would have died that time."

Hunter Han Wooju didn't say anything, but he knitted his eyebrows.

He probably doesn't remember saving me since he's been saving people left and right the moment he awakened as an S-Class Hunter.

Hunter Han Wooju looked like he was about to say something, but the doctor spoke first.

"I checked your medical records the day Wooju brought you here," Dr. Im Rian said in disbelief. "But your medical records didn't show that you have the Bloom Disease… oh, right." The doctor fell silent for a moment. "Whoever is in charge of your medical records probably omitted your history of the Bloom Disease. The victims of that incident are protected by the government, after all."

More like the victims were hidden from the public for their protection.

"My manager is taking care of the young ladies you were with that night," Han Wooju explained. "The incident that happened in the Facility is still under investigation, so your group members are under my guild's custody at the moment."

"The girls are innocent, Hunter Han Wooju," Gyubin said firmly. "I was the one who attacked the Hunters from the Facility."

"I already have a gist of what happened. Your group members will be fine," Han Wooju assured her. "And you'll be fine, too. You just protected your group members."

"Uhm, are you protecting me because of the fetus in my womb?"

"That and because those Hunters deserve it. I don't care if it's excessive self-defense on your part. Those bastards still put a hand on children, so they deserve to be punished heavily."

Gyubin was relieved to hear that.

I knew Hunter Han Wooju was a decent person!

"But I need you to tell me what Item you used to attack the Hunters," Han Wooju said. "There are Items Civilians are not allowed to carry. You may have awakened now, but you were a Civilian when used that Item to attack those Hunters."

"It's an A-Grade Item…"

Han Wooju nodded. "You're going to get in trouble, but I'll use my authority to make sure you won't end up in jail."

Maybe she should try to push her luck if that was the case?

"I have something else to confess, Hunter Han Wooju."

"What is it?"

"I attacked my shitty boss— I mean, the CEO of my company with the intention of killing him," Gyubin said nervously, gulping hard. "I stabbed him with a poisonous stem."

Han Wooju and Dr. Im Rian both looked shocked by her confession.

And rightfully so.

Dr. Im Rian turned to Han Wooju. "That girl is unhinged, Wooju-ya."

Fortunately, Han Wooju didn't comment on that.

"I sent my location to Hunter Park Dong-min so he'd find my shitty boss in time and give him the antidote. He carries the antidote to the poisonous Items I carry with me," Gyubin explained, slightly panicking. "I-Is there no news about my shitty boss or our shitty company? Or n-news about what happened to my group?"

She was knocked out for two days.

So many things could happen during that time!

I don't see my phone anywhere, so I can't search the Internet for news…

"What happened in the Facility is confidential, so I made sure it won't get leaked to the press or the public," Han Wooju said, then he paused for a moment. "Is Hunter Park Dong-min from the Golden Tiger's Alchemy Division the one in charge of you, Miss Baek?"

Gyubin flinched. "Have Ahjussi— I mean, Hunter Park Dong-min found me already?"

Han Wooju remained quiet as if he was in deep thought.

"Hunter Park Dong-min has been bugging Wooju for the past two days, but Wooju refuses to talk to him since we're busy observing you, Baek Gyubin," Dr. Im Rian explained. "I guess they already know that you're under our custody."

"I'll go and talk to Hunter Park Dong-min," Han Wooju said calmly. "Miss Baek, please stay here. You're Awakening process isn't done yet."

"It's not?"

"You'll know that the Awakening process has ended once the System informs you of your status level," Han Wooju explained patiently. "The light you emitted while you were in the middle of Awakening is the first step. The Status Window showing up is the second step. The confirmation of your status level and the skills gifted to you is the final step."

"That's common knowledge even among Civilians," Dr. Im Rian said, scoffing. "How come you don't know that, Baek Gyubin?"

The doctor's tone didn't sit well with her.

"Well, maybe because I got so traumatized when my grandma and I were forced to be test subjects for a certain crazy Hunter that gave us the Bloom Disease that I try not to get too involved with the Hunter business?" Gyubin said. Her tone was sweet and polite. But her gaze towards the doctor was disrespectful. "Not everyone wants to be a Hunter— a pregnant Hunter at that."

Oops.

GYUBIN didn't want to sleep or rest, even after Han Wooju and Dr. Im Rian left the room, since she wanted to think about her current situation.

She was probably a wanted criminal by now.

Fortunately, it looks like Hunter Han Wooju will protect me from the law.

Gyubin touched her stomach very carefully.

Hunter Han Wooju is protecting me because of this "baby."

Apparently, that life form was going to save the world— or something close to that.

But if she kept the "baby," how about her career? Well, it wasn't much since her group was a flop. Even so, she loved being an idol.

And my younger members still need me as their leader…

One more thing: how could she explain her sudden pregnancy to her sick grandmother?

Gyubin was stressed out, and yet she still managed to feel drowsy until she eventually fell asleep.
