Chapter 96 : I Want to See you

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Well then, Kurumi... Does the name 'Zafkiel' ring a bell?"

Observing this, Kurumi slightly furrowed her brow; she knew 'Zafkiel' all too well. It was the name of her angel, something impossible to forget. Despite being a bit surprised, she anticipated this – the Champion chose her, so knowledge about her was natural. The question remained: How much does the Champion know?

Contemplating this, Kurumi tilted her head and licked her lips.

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Well, well, that's an interesting question. So, shall we respond in kind, if you don't mind, Champion-sama? Time is a moving image of eternity."

"Hahaha."

Laughing at her response, Yuki conveyed everything. Kurumi Tokisaki was his original, yet her answer revealed something about her personality.

"You're good, very good... But can you handle this?"

Without delay, Yuki responded in kind.

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Time is the best author; it always finds a perfect ending."

"Kihihi hihi."

Chuckling, Kurumi appreciated what she saw. With just that small phrase, she understood that the Champion was her equal. Others might not comprehend, but for them, 'Time' held significant meaning; after all, they could manipulate it.

Without wasting a second, Kurumi replied.

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Law, democracy, love... Nothing weighs more on our lives than time."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Love is intensity, and that's why it's a dilation of time – stretching minutes and elongating them like centuries."

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Clocks kill time. Time is dead as long as it's marked by the small wheels; only when the clock stops does time come to life."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Time is a child playing like a child. I am one, but opposed to myself, I am young and old at the same time."

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Time is just an illusion."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Yes, time is an illusion, but being with you or not being with you is what defines my time."

"Kurumi Tokisaki: ..."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): ..."

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Fufufufu."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): Hahaha."

After exchanging several messages, both Kurumi and Yuki burst into laughter. They were delighted by what they saw. Yuki didn't know how Kurumi was or at what distance, but now, he felt her so close that he reached out his hand, trying to grasp her.

Kurumi was the same; she wore a playful smile as she extended her hand to reach Yuki. As if both hands touched through space and time, a small spark ignited between their Sephira crystals, as if they had found their soulmate.

Yuki now felt a sensation similar to when he touched Inori's void for the first time. However, unlike Inori, who felt like an acquaintance, Kurumi felt like an old friend – someone who had always been with him, passing through his clones and through time.

Kurumi, on the other hand, was in chaos. She felt the spark in her Sephira crystal, making all the clones in her shadow tremble. This was new for her. She didn't know how or why this was happening; the distance between worlds and possibly universes was vast. Yet, they now felt so close to each other, as if holding hands and looking into each other's eyes.

But this only conveyed one thing.

"I want to see you ~"

"I want to see you."

Murmuring at the same time, Kurumi and Yuki looked at the chat screen, hoping to see the face of their counterpart.

As for the other members, they didn't know what was happening. Each of them was confused by not understanding their strange language of metaphors.

Mikoto, in particular, experienced a surge of electricity in her head as she utilized her Level 5 supercomputer brain to its full extent. Even so, she couldn't decipher the language within those sentences; it was more an experience than a language, but also a greeting between the two 'Zafkiel.' Hence, Mikoto didn't grasp it.

Folia had a smile on her face; this newcomer was intriguing.

Yami didn't care about this strange language; she only waited for Yuki to finish so she could ask for food.

But someone didn't like this.

"Yuno Gasai: Another thieving cat."

"Kurumi Tokisaki: Ara, am I not welcome? Poor me ~"

"Yuno Gasai: Tch!"

Clicking her tongue, Yuno didn't appreciate this. Kurumi's response only fueled her anger.

Yes, despite not understanding most of their conversation, Yuno understood the meaning of some of it. She saw these messages as a subtle invitation to a date.

And she was correct. After all, both Kurumi and Yuki were cutting each other with their words.

For Yuno, though, it felt as if Kurumi was seducing Yuki. She had more than enough with La Folia and Inori; now, another one comes in, and she didn't like it.

"I have to accelerate my plans."

So, contemplating deeply, Yuno decided that she had to get to work. With another woman appearing, she must have everything ready to welcome Yuki into her world.

Kurumi, on the other hand, just laughed. Yuno was a girl easily swayed, so joking with her was entertaining.

"La Folia: What a unique way of chatting. It makes me feel a bit jealous, huhuhu."

Of course, La Folia was joking. Another woman in the crystal palace made no difference to her; on the contrary, it was just another sister.

"Mikoto Misaka: Ugh! My head hurts."

On the other hand, Mikoto felt dejected. Not being able to follow their conversation made her feel inferior. After all, she was one of the most powerful espers in Academy City.

"Yami: .... Reward?"

As for Yami, she seized every moment to ask for her pastries. Her stomach growled, and Yuki's food was delicious.

"Kurumi Tokisaki: You have to come to my world, Champion-sama. There are many interesting things I'd like to discuss with you."

"Yuki Uchiha (Champion): I will, just wait for me."

Satisfied with the acknowledgment, Kurumi smiled. Despite wanting to ask for permission to travel to other worlds, she refrained. She had enough problems in this world, so traveling to other worlds was a no for now. Instead, she decided to wait. She had 'Time,' so waiting for her 'Equal' wasn't a big deal.

"Zafkiel."

However, curiosity lingered. Calling her angel, Kurumi manifested the enormous golden clock with an inorganic appearance.

"Hei"

*Explosion.

Pointing the spark gun at her own head, Kurumi pulled the trigger.

"Fufufu... I see... Yuki-san..."

Looking into the future, Kurumi lowered her head, a terrifying smile forming on her face.

"Kihihihi... How delightful ~... Yuki-san, you're so delightful ~"

Bringing a finger to her lips, Kurumi gasped, and simultaneously, her tongue entwined around her finger, savoring its taste, as if it were the most delicious ice cream in the world.

No one knew what she had seen, but that smile on her face meant trouble. However, her eyes revealed a deep longing, as if she had found something precious.

Yuki also wanted to use Zafkiel, but it was a pity; this world and Kurumi's were different. The only future he would see was that of this world.

But still, he smiled. It was better this way. Although he wanted to see her, there was time for that. After all, he couldn't leave these ladies and go after her; Yuno and Mikoto were still waiting.
