Accident

"Cut!" the director yelled as Lauren couldn't stop laughing. It was her last day of filming The Secret Patriot: Never Let Go; the first of three movies. It's set during the American Revolution and Ben Barnes, (who played Samuel Adams) messed up big time on one of his lines. "Let's… do that again," the director said between laughs. "And this time, no laughs and no messing up. Background action and action!"

(Final scene of the movie)

Christina ran down the streets of Boston. She had to get to Sam before it was too late. She turned and took a shortcut through the alley. Soon enough, she arrived at the Green Dragon Tavern.

Christina thrust open the door but to her shock and dismay, Samuel was nowhere to be found. "Where is he?" she asked Tim Kelly who was sitting at a table.

"They took him, Christina. It's over now," he replied. Her heart felt heavy and empty at the same time. Christina sat down in a corner and tucked her legs against her chest. Deep inside, she knew that this was not how it would end.

"Cut! The director yelled. "That's a wrap!" The entire cast cheered. The cast had finally finished the first of three movies in the series. Ben Barnes walked over to Lauren from where he was standing by the director.

"Don't you just hate it when a movie leaves off in a cliffhanger?" he asked in a British accent.

"Don't forget about books, they do it too," she responded.

"Lauren, Ben," the director said, coming over to us. "Let's take some pictures of you on set."

"Okay." they both said at the same time. Lauren smiled.

Ben and Lauren just finished their little photoshoot and were making their way to their trailers to get out of their costumes. "I can't wait to go to the premiere," Lauren said, breaking the silence.

Ben smiled. "It will be a while before that. The movie still has to be edited and… stuff." Lauren chuckled at his lack of filmmaking knowledge, despite the both of them being involved with the process.

When she got to her trailer, Lauren stopped. She decided to wear her costume (which consisted of a white under-vest, a blue coat, beige pants, and tall, black boots) home. She pulled her long, brown hair back in a hairbow and waited outside Ben's trailer to invite him over to her house. He accepted and she pulled out my phone to tell her mom.

Soon enough, Lauren's mom pulled up in the parking lot and they got inside, chatting happily about their last day of filming. "Let's get something to eat, I'm hungry," she said, buckling in her seat belt. Ben did the same.

"Okay, where to?" she asked as she turned onto the highway.

"I dunno, McDonald's?" Lauren suggested. Her mom nodded. Turning to Ben, she said, "I can't wait to start filming the next movie!"

He agreed and they laughed and talked some more until she heard her mom gasp and felt the car jerk to the right. The car collided with a red pick-up truck and flipped onto its side, with the truck on top of them. Lauren screamed and managed to unbuckle her seat belt and crawl out of the broken window. Police who happened to be next to them when it happened, were helping her mother out.

"Where's Ben?!" Lauren screamed and stuck her head back in the window. He was on the side that hit the road. Lauren saw him, unconscious, or dead, she couldn't be sure which one, with shattered window glass covering him.

Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to undo his seat belt when the police pulled her out. "Let me go!" she yelled, struggling against them. The police pulled the car door open and the paramedics rushed to retrieve him.

As she cried, the world blurred from her tears and dropped onto the pavement.

"Get him to the hospital!" she heard someone shout.

Lauren put her hand over his chest and to her pleasure, it was beating. "Ben," she said, her voice breaking big time. "Stay with me," she whispered.
