Meeting an Acquaintance (Part 1)

Soon after Alvin left, Koshiro entered the room and said to Aaron: "How much do you know about this new apprentice? Go to town and ask about his details. We shouldn't receive anyone we are not supposed to receive. You know this Village is becoming infesting with a lot of troublesome outsiders lately,"

"Master, I just asked. He said he worked at Shadd's store and is an orphan. There seems to be no problems." Aaron respectfully said.

Koshiro nodded and thought for a while and said: "Good. Then find the opportunity to go to Shadd to verify, if there is no problem he will be accepted. The sword basics can be given to Bart to teach, he seems less busy recently."

Aaron nodded and pulled out of the room.

After Aaron left, the backdoor opened and another person walked in. it was a young girl who looked about 12 -13 years old and stood at about 1.4 meters with short, dark blue hair and dark brown eyes.

"Master!" She shouted respectfully when she entered the room.

Koshiro smiled and looked at her and asked, "Is he the boy saw in the forest?"

"Yes, Fath.. Sorry master, he's the one. When we woke up, he had strangely disappeared. Zoro, Saga and I returned to the beach later on to search but couldn't find a trace of him."

Koshiro immediately nodded and displayed a pondering expression, "These outsiders sure are interesting….."

After bidding farewell to [Isshin Sword dojo], while walking home, Alvin's expression depicted an elated attitude since he had enrolled into Isshin Sword dojo without much trouble and also was rewarded with 100 EXP. He immediately looked at his EXP bar… 585/600!

"Fifteen more experience points to reach Level 6. I guess I will level up the next time I login!"

By the time he got home it was already late. He promptly found a small restaurant close to the workshop and had a heavy dinner together with Byakko.

After that, he made Byakko leave to the forest because he would be logging out soon. Byakko initially didn't want to leave but after Alvin promised some delicacies when he returned the next time, he grudgingly left.

He moment he entered his room, he heard the System's prompt.

[Ding! All players please note, the server will shut down in the next minute. All players should wind up and prepare or Logout!]

Alvin signed when he heard that. He sat cross-legged on his bed and waited for the one minute to catch up.

After exactly one minute, Alvin felt his vision black out. When he opened his eyes again, he was back in his room.

The first thing Alvin did when he woke up was to run to the bathroom to wash up because the black sticky substance was once again on his skin. By this time, Alvin knew that this was waste that was expelled from his body during the strengthening process.

After washing up, he stood in front of the mirror and once again looked at himself. His appearance hadn't changed much, only his muscles looked more defined. All his senses were also heightened.

He felt the strength in his body and started to laugh foolishly. Now, all his attributes were higher than a normal person who has just awoken as an Enhancer and entered the [Consolidation Stage]. Because Level 1 Enhancers do not have Aura Skin, he has a very big chance of winning if he comes across those who haven't yet reached the peak of the [Consolidation Stage].

After leaving the bathroom, he turned on the PC and visited the live Forums for the One Piece world as he always does.

Today, there were more people who joined the One Piece world because of the amazing experiences shared by those who entered it first. Many players had explored some suggestions provided by some professional gamers and had reaped some results.

There were a number of people who claimed to have reached Level 1 and experienced a rise in strength when they woke. This motivated some people who were having doubts about this VR world to choose to enter the next time it opens.

Alvin shook his head when he saw these comments. These people still hadn't realized the dark hand that was manipulating them. He could be sure that even though these powerful families couldn't abduct everyone who received some kind of benefits from the One Piece World, a bad fate would befall anyone who stood out too much.

After reading these comments, Alvin checked the time and it still wasn't morning so he stood up and entered his father's study to see if he could wield the katana now that his strength had significantly increased.

But the results were the same. The problem was that despite having almost 520 kg of physical strength, he couldn't even budge the sword. This made him very confused. He could now confirm that the reason why he couldn't move the sword wasn't because he wasn't strong enough but because of some other requirements. He couldn't determine what exactly the requirements were to wield this sword but he so he decided to wait until he cultivated the first Level of the [Heavenly Thunder Sacred Body] and try again.

After leaving the study, he performed his daily workout until it was 6:00, had another shower before dressing up and leaving for the local police station in East Saint District. Today, he was supposed to start his internship at that place to help them solve cases.

The police station was located at a very important area of East Saint District. It was a big building, with hover cars zooming past it from all sides. Alvin could not afford such a car because it was too expensive. Nowadays all cars were powered by energy cores which could let the car travel more than 1,000 kilometers without pollution.

Normal households could not finance such expensive cars, yet low grade cars were not produced for the government wanted to limit pollution.

Those who possessed cars were all from high-class and wealthy backgrounds. Because Alvin didn't have access to such high technological means, he had to take a public train to the police station.

When he got to the high rise building which housed the police station, Alvin was once again marveled at the kind of technology that humanity processed nowadays. He then began to wonder how strong the Demonic Beasts were to still be able to oppress humanity who processed such great technological advantages.

"I'm here to report for a temporary job." Entering a hall with many policemen working, Alvin walked up towards a counter, handed over the school documents and reported his purpose.

A policeman of about 30 years old received the files and immediately looked at them with a frown on his face, "only 180 kg of strength? Young man, are you sure are at the right place?"

"Yes, I received the recommendation from Uncle Carney Peterson. He told me to report today…"

When the policemen heard Carney Peterson's name, he frowned because he knew that man was someone who never played with his job. If he really recommended this young man, then he must have seen something special. But he still had doubts on the details shown on this young man's school documents.

"Sir, you must never try to judge a book by its cover. The details on those documents do not tell the whole story.." Alvin said with a mysterious smile when he saw the policemen's expression. He had now realized why Uncle Carney had advised he to show his strength when he got here.

"Well….?" The policeman was actually surprised by Alvin's speech and confidence. To say such words means this young man was confident in his strength.

He then tried to put the documents down on the table and enquire from his superiors what he should do.

"Wait!" Alvin extended his arm and lightly repressed the policeman's hand.

"Huh?" The policemen realized that this was Alvin demonstrating his strength to him. So he mobilized about 50% of his strength and tried to lift up Alvin's hands but they wouldn't budge.

"He really had some tricks up his sleeves." The policeman thought as he then released about 70% strength but he still couldn't move Alvin's hand. The man was now shocked.

One must know that the minimum threshold for being accepted into the police force is 350 kg strength but since he was a veteran who had trained his body for a long time and used a lot of genetic medicines to upgrade his strength, his standard had almost reached 400 kg but 70% of his strength still couldn't make Alvin's hand budge.

From Alvin's expression, the policeman also saw that Alvin had hardly used all his strength. He now realized that Alvin wasn't as meek as he looked.

There were other policemen who had been drawn to this scene so the moment he realized he was getting embarrassed, the policeman immediately changed his attitude.

"Since you have this strength, you are more than up for the job." A middle aged police came over and flicked through Alvin's data. "Hmmm seems like you've hid quite a bit of talent. We'll allow you to enter the police taskforce, but you must do as we say, and not brashly try being the hero. Do you understand?"

"Yes sir!" Alvin answered

"Follow me."

Alvin was brought to an office, which housed the task force for major cases. There were more than ten policemen, each a combat expert which were responsible for this case.

Besides them, there were also a few boys and girls that were quite obviously students. But they were quite old, each of them students above the age of 17. Of course, they couldn't have been from Atlantis High School. They were probably from other high schools because Alvin didn't recognize any of them.

"You can join them and wait a little for all your other colleagues to gather before you are all briefed." The policeman said to Alvin and left before he could answer. It seemed as if he was running from a plague.

Alvin smiled and shook his head and looked for a remote corner to sit and look study the other students who were around.

Not long after Alvin sat down, he heard a hubbub of noise coming from the gate and a group of young people walking into the room where he was.

The one who caught his attention was he young man who seemed to be the leader of this group. He was quite handsome with blond wavy hair and well-proportioned facial features. He stood taller than Alvin at about 1.8 meters and carried an air of nobility around him. The arrogant manner displayed his utter disregard for the police officers who were trying to usher him into the hall.

Alvin was very shocked when he saw him, "Well, it's him!!!"
