Chapter 92

Akila,

"I have been summoned. I must leave, mistress."

Anubis said as he knelt in front of Akila and the second queen smiled. Then she leaned down to give him a kiss on the head.

The young god stood up and regarded her worried and his face weary and she understood his conflicted thoughts.

He must leave, but he wanted to stay here to protect her, especially when he didn't trust her captain of guards.

"Just leave, young god. I will be fine. There are a lot of people looking after me."

Anubis gritted his teeth and averted his gaze. His body was taut and his hands fisted.

Akila said, then bowed to the god of the dead, telling him again that he can be at ease and tend to his duties.

Anubis summoned a portal, then he left after giving the young queen a long, worried glance.

Akila went to her bed and leaned on it, sighing. She didn't do anything most of the day, but she was exhausted.
