Chapter 33

Ramses,

The palace was eerily quiet. Ramses thought as he walked to the throne hall.

At this time of the day, it was always noisy and full of activities, but this felt ominous.

It was the day when he listens to his people's pleas and problems.

The king used to be tired before the day had even begun.

The constant headache that accompanied him was the worst reward he would get by the end of the day.

It was his duty to listen to his subjects' problems and answer them.

His father had told him that he was their servant, not the other way around.

So Ramses always tried his best to accommodate his people's demands and be just for them.

The king was in front of the closed doors trying to compose himself. Recently, he had been tired all the time and felt idle.

Sometimes he would spend his mornings sleeping, other times he won't sleep even a wink.
