She rounded the corner into the main room, and Ty rose to his feet. He'd been sitting on the chair nearest the door, the one she'd hidden behind when eavesdropping on his and Cinco's conversation.
A sharp blaze of guilt exploded within her. Though she'd overheard their discussion no more than an hour ago, a lot occurred since then. She'd learned she hadn't been abducted but rather stolen from 2014 and plopped into a creek 158 years in the past. Also, she'd learned Ty was truly the gentleman he portrayed and not a superb actor with diabolical intentions. It didn't hurt that Ty was so hospitable despite knowing nothing about her-nothing true anyway.
And you're going to just keep lying to the man, too. She wanted to slap her conscious for reminding her of what she so desperately wanted to overlook.
Damn.
