Reversed?
Tomorrow is yesterday, yesterday is tomorrow?
Logic and the other two felt this was a bit confusing.
But they understood what "Old Cheng Ping" wanted to convey, that his time was going backward, day by day!
And then Logic suddenly remembered, "Old Cheng Ping's" spaceship had disappeared without a trace.
Now it wasn't just Cheng Ping himself that was living in reverse; that spaceship must share the same fate as him.
The video continued, "Old Cheng Ping" went on, "I know this sounds strange, but it's true, I came from your time.
"Not only do I know your current thoughts, but I also know that on Galactic Era Year 3 May 16, Wallfacer Jiang Yu officially named the phenomenon you're studying 'Chameleon.'
"Technically, Teacher Luo Ji broke away from the speed of light on May 11th, and our conversation also happened on the 11th.
"It wasn't long after Teacher Luo Ji arrived on Earth that Wallfacer Jiang Yu's naming was communicated here.
"How could I, from the 11th, know what would happen on the 16th?
"But I do know, this is my evidence; now you have to believe me, I am you from the future!"
Zhuang Yue asked the Cheng Ping watching the video, "Is that true?"
Cheng Ping's forehead was covered in a fine sweat, "Yes, it was only in the afternoon that we got the notification, 'Chameleon' is indeed the name just given by Wallfacer Jiang Yu.
"Our research group has also become Chameleon Research Group Two."
Logic waved at them to concentrate on the video first.
In the video, "Old Cheng Ping" paused briefly as if giving Logic and the others time to think.
After a few seconds, he continued, "Although this form is very special, you must heed my warning.
"Further exploration of the 'Chameleon' will bring you immense risk and may also change humanity's perception of the whole universe.
"Again, I don't know if my warning will be appropriate, so whether you want tocontinue or not will depend on your own final decision.
"First, let me briefly describe our exploration of the Chameleon. At a position two thousand astronomical units away from it, the exploration fleet seemed to enter another space, because the real-time communicator lost contact with Earth.
"Rather than another space, it's better described as a chaotic space!
"A huge curtain of light appeared in front of us, constantly changing colors just like we were seeing.
"But the distance between us is uncertain. One moment it's far away, the next it's very close, and then it's far away again.
"The key issue is that when we wanted to return, we couldn't fly out.
"More precisely, we couldn't find Earth's location at all.
"Then, we noticed obvious changes happening to our bodies, some began to look younger while others got older.
"Next, everyone's appearances became chaotic, alternating between young and old.
"Not just us, the spaceship too. One of the spaceships even turned directly into parts! And a few minutes later, it became a heap of wreckage.
"At first, we speculated that we had entered a temporal chaos zone. What happened to us could prove that time is closely related to space.
"A change in time led to a corresponding change in space.
"Take that spaceship, for instance, it must have returned to a time before it was manufactured, so it immediately underwent corresponding spatial changes."
"In the time that followed, changes in time tormented us constantly; some people kept changing and turned into unborn babies, while others aged to death."
"We found that as soon as a life form returned to its beginning or reached its end, it had no next step to change into, meaning it would die."
"What really baffled us was that no matter what changes happened to the body, memories and consciousness remained unchanged."
"My actual age, for example, is over a hundred and fifty. In the midst of the temporal chaos, one moment I might turn into a ten-year-old, but my memories and consciousness would not revert to that of a ten-year-old."
"I could clearly feel that I was still a hundred and fifty years old! Only my body had become smaller."
"I have no idea how much time had passed, because in such temporal chaos, I had lost all means of keeping time."
"At that time, I realized I was somewhat special; while others fluctuated between aging and youth before dying at either the start or the end of their lives."
"But when I grew younger, I only aged back to around thirty at most before stopping, and I wouldn't become an infant like most people."
"Sorry, because memories and consciousness don't change, I'm really not sure how young my body was at its youngest."
"However, I guess it was probably twenty-seven years old."
"You ought to know what that age signifies."
Logic and Zhuang Yue both looked towards Cheng Ping sitting beside them.
Cheng Ping, who was watching a video, explained, "Every single one of those dreams of mine began on that morning in Australia."
"That year, I was twenty-seven!"
Logic and Zhuang Yue nodded, realizing that it was the beginning of everything.
The 'Old Cheng Ping' on the video continued, "It was at this point that I remembered those dreams of mine, perhaps I really had lived through many lifetimes."
"My life was like a cycle. No matter how old or young I became, it was never the moment that marked the end or the beginning of my life."
"Because after reaching my oldest, I would go back to being twenty-seven. And going on from twenty-seven, I'd loop back to my oldest age again, so the temporal chaos couldn't do anything to me!"
"This is my speculation, unverifiable, but it must be correct; otherwise, there's no explaining why I'm the only one who survived."
"Finally, I reached 'Chameleon'. Yes, that journey had at last come to its end."
"The whole journey felt like it lasted only a few hours, but it also felt like thousands of years had passed. Before I touched 'Chameleon', it seemed thousands of meters away, yet also many light-years apart."
"All concepts of time and space ceased to exist here."
"The moment I touched 'Chameleon', the rapid aging and rejuvenation on my body stopped, and time started to become normal."
"Suddenly, the spaceship vanished, my entire body disappeared, and all that was left was my sight."
"I saw a bubble of immense size, I really don't know how else to describe it, but it truly resembled a bubble."
"Inside the bubble sprinkled specks of starlight, like fireflies in a glass dome, but most places were boundless darkness."
"Then, I was drawn up high, and I realized that under a vast curtain of blackness, there were many, many such bubbles, each connected to the others by threadlike things."
"The scene was utterly awe-inspiring, and I profoundly felt that my vision had never been so expansive!"
"What was the sight before my eyes? Could this be the microscopic world? Each bubble an atom, the twinkling starlight emitted by electrons."
"And those threadlike substances could be the forces between the microscopic."
