Logic boarded the spaceship, and Jiang Yu's projection appeared immediately. He said to Galaxy III, "Go to Earth!"
Galaxy III: "The location of Earth is top-secret information, and requires the highest authorization."
Jiang Yu operated something in the New Continent Star System: "The authorization has been sent to you."
"Authorization successful! Planning the route now!"
Jiang Yu added, "Oh, right, enter lightspeed seven days later."
All actions of the Ark Project would unfold within the next seven days.
Then Jiang Yu pulled up the Ark Project's camera feeds: "If you want to see somewhere, you can make a request directly to Galaxy III. You also have the highest authorization in the Solar System State."
Logic nodded, "No need to keep me company here, old man. Go get busy!"
Jiang Yu smiled slightly, and his figure disappeared immediately.
The spaceship Logic was on took off slowly, but its speed of flight wasn't fast. The cargo spaceships that departed later all overtook it one after another.
Logic also believed that the Solar System State should transport all of humanity's art away. From then on, humanity's main world would become an unprecedented unified political entity, and these works of art should be inherited by the Solar System State.
In the following days, except for resting, Logic spent all his time closely watching the images collected by Galaxy III from various places.
First were the Space Cities of the Solar System State, which began to slowly gather on one side of the orbit of the Gas Giant Planet.
Then it was the turn of the large "Octopus Spaceships" to make their appearance. Their dozens of mechanical arms slowly unfolded, the arms of varying lengths grasped several Space Cities, and after securing them, the "Octopus Spaceships" began to accelerate.
Subsequently, at the Lu Ji Colonies of Jupiter's moons, they began to detach slowly from the ground. Eventually, one by one, they were captured in low Earth orbit by the "Octopus Spaceships."
Galaxy III thoughtfully explained to Logic, "The departments implementing the 'Ark Project' had installed anti-gravity devices beneath the Lu Ji Colonies in advance.
"Given these moons already have low gravity, lifting them up is quite easy; pity that the anti-gravity devices can't be recovered."
Logic shook his head with a smile, "Jiang Yu is becoming more of a miser. If you're going to flee, why take these Space Cities with you?"
Galaxy III: "In the New Continent Star System, the cost to build Space Cities is not particularly high, but it takes a significant amount of time.
"Taking these Space Cities away will save at least twenty years of construction time in the future. With those twenty years, much can be accomplished."
Logic let out a long sigh, "Now I am thoroughly convinced that Jiang Yu has indeed made the most comprehensive preparations."
For large Space Cities like Jupiter City and Sui Xing City, the "Octopus Spaceships'" mechanical arms could only seize two to three. Smaller Space Cities, however, could be grasped by five to seven arms.
In addition to Space Cities and the shell of Venus, the mining ships were also gathered and fixed together well in advance, being collectively accelerated away by the Star Accelerator.
The massive, dense mining ships looked somewhat like neatly arranged corn kernels. Despite their size, they didn't take up too much space.
Even the Huanri Particle Accelerator, as well as the Ring of Jupiter and Terrestrial Particle Accelerators, had been contracted and gathered in advance, successfully taken away by an "Octopus Spaceship."
In Logic's view, the actions of the Solar System State did not seem at all like fleeing a disaster, but rather like a premeditated move!
Five days after Logic boarded the ship, Galaxy III reported that the gravitational field of the sealed experiment was about to fail.
The "original gravitational field" outside the Two-Dimensional Foil had already disappeared five days earlier. If observed using only vision at this point, the strip of paper would no longer be visible, as if there were nothing inside the laboratory.
```
However, in the bright light, there was a blurred "luminous lump" of sorts.
That was the position of the two-dimensional foil. When light passed through the gravitational field and reached the two-dimensional fragment, it immediately slowed down, hence the "luminous lump" structure appeared.
Logic fixed his gaze on the screen showing Neptune, ready to witness the moment the two-dimensional fragment wreaked havoc in the solar system.
Also focusing on the event was Cheng Xin aboard "Exile." Ever since the closure experiment failed, her mood had been extremely somber, and now, the result she least wanted to see had materialized.
This meant she had to bear part of the responsibility for all the casualties and losses that the Solar System Federation suffered in this disaster.
Only now did she realize what Jiang Yu meant by the punishment for her; knowing this outcome was her greatest punishment.
"Look quickly!" Ai AA's shout snapped Cheng Xin out of her daze.
As dimensionality extruded from three-dimensional to two-dimensional, the "luminous lump" seemed to break free from some kind of restraint and swiftly began to expand.
After the "luminous lump" touched the experimental equipment, a bright light flared up, and the equipment actually melted!
The equipment was like ice cream on scorching glass, melting into a puddle at the contact point and spreading in all directions.
The "glass" on which it melted wasn't visible; only the spread parts of the melted material revealed the presence of that invisible plane.
The molten substance formed an extremely thin layer on the plane, casting a brilliantly eerie light, like fireworks scattered across the surface.
Next were the outer walls of the lab, and then the robots outside the lab that had already ceased operation.
They all spread out on the plane, revealing a huge glowing outline; they had become as thin as a sheet on the plane, large yet only with area, lacking volume.
A few ships disconnected from the experimental vessel and, under the control of Galaxy III, attempted to escape using their nuclear drives.
But they remained motionless as if nailed in place by some force in space.
This was the space-time distortion created by the two-dimensional foil, which neutralized the acceleration of the ships.
Actually, the expansion speed of the two-dimensional foil wasn't too fast; it took more than a minute to engulf a ship, but the reverse flow of space was the most terrifying aspect.
It was like being caught in a whirlpool; once you entered this area, you couldn't hope to escape without a lightspeed spaceship.
The light emitted by the first swallowed ship quickly went out; compared to the fall from four-dimensional to three-dimensional, the release of energy from three-dimensional to two-dimensional was much less.
Within that two-dimensional fragment, its microscopic dimensions had increased by one.
Most of the mass in three dimensions had converted to dark matter; however, dark matter produced by the fall from three dimensions to two was like dross to humanity, utterly unusable.
But to a two-dimensional intelligence eons in the future, these might be an endless source of energy.
The structure of the experimental ship was clearly visible under the starlight, displaying the unfolded three-dimensional structure in two dimensions, distinguishing parts such as the robots and nuclear engines on the ship.
Each robot's metallic skeleton and circuitry were discernible; every point on a three-dimensional object was projected onto the two-dimensional plane according to precise geometric rules.
There was no concealment, revealing endless details like looking at three-dimensional space from four-dimensional space, and the resolution went down to the fundamental particle level.
Until the last ship turned into white light and then a painting, Cheng Xin's face was awash with tears: "Such an obvious warning, so obvious!"
The two-dimensionality of the solar system had begun.
