As soon as I get home, I saw that my house living room's was light up. It was unusual to see that the light was on because I remembered that I had made sure the light was close after they have cleaned the house.
Yuuto who was next to me shove me behind him as he places his index finger on his lips. He looked at me with a thoughtful look before he pushes open the door. Yuuto keeps himself in a defensive positioning with his both fist placed in front of him.
Then I heard a noise coming from the living room. I gesturing him to keeps his guards up before entering the living room. I slide open the door and saw no one was there.
''Phew...Yuuto-kun there's no one—"
''Miyu, watch out!!'' Yuuto yelled.
All of a sudden, my mouth was covered with a cloth and my waist was warped with a firm arm. In that quick moment, I manage to pull out my pen from my pocket, preparing to stab that person's leg until I heard a familiar male voice.
''Mi-nechan, you lose~'' Hikaru grinned at me as I turn around.
''Hikaru-kun, what are you doing here?''
The tan skin boy let go of me while saying,
''Granny asked me to move here with you.'' He stroked his brown hair as he looks at me with his blue eyes.
''Miyu-chan, so this is your cousin?'' Yuuto asked.
''Yup, he is. So no worry, it was a false call I assume.'' I let out a tiny smile.
''Mi-nechan, who is this pretty boy? Your boyfriend?'' Hikaru who was standing between us, crossed his arm while observing Yuuto up and down.
''No way, he was just my bestie. And Hikaru-kun, back to the topic, why did you need to move here? I believe there's something else you have been hiding.'' I clutch my waist while glared at him.
''Umm...it was not my fault actually...'' Hikaru looks down at his feet.
''I knew it! You have been involved in fighting in your school, am I right? No wonder granny said there's a surprise for me that will keep me company. It looks like I need to babysit you again!''
''Well...it will be fun hanging out with Mi-chan, right?'' He grinned at me.
''Fun my ass. Looks like I need to train my strengths more often to stop you if you ever get into a fight.'' I slapped my forehead.
''Miyu-chan, I guess I will take my leave then. See you tomorrow at school.'' Yuuto patted my head.
''And you, don't you ever try to lay your dirty hand on her.'' Yuuto shoots Hikaru a cold glare.
''Huh?! What are you glaring at, you pretty boy?'' Hikaru rolled his sleeves up.
''Stop. Your. Fighting. Nonsense. Hikaru.'' I punched him each time I spoke out a word. Hikaru holds his stomach while twitched down on the floor.
''I am sorry...'' Hikaru lay down on the floor as he apologies.
''And you.'' I glared at Yuuto.
''Stop glaring at someone with your pretty eyes if you don't want me to punch your face. Now let me walk you out.'' I tiptoe as I lean my face close to him.
''...okay...'' Yuuto turn his head around, avoiding my eye contact. I notice that his ears are burning red as he moves away from me.
''What have I done...?'' I then realise that I didn't keep my distance with him, ending up making him fall deeper for me.
***
''Thank you for today, Yuuto-kun.'' I thanked him as we were standing outside of the house.
''Anything for you, my queen.'' Yuuto leans closer to me and gently kissed my forehead.
''Whoa...Trying so hard to be prince charming with the kiss, huh?'' I teased him.
''Yea if you say so. Good night, my queen." He smirked.
"And if you were to dream about me, remember that I was not your bestie but your prince that will make the monster in your head disappear." He said gently as his green eyes dazzle underneath the lamp post light.
I was so mesmerised by his looks. As our eyes met, I lost myself in his eyes. Yuuto patted my head before he went down the road. My eyes keep on following his silhouette until it disappears behind the corner of the street.
''Oh my God, I must've gone crazy if I say I was falling for these two idiots....'' I bend down to my knees, trying to hide my flushing face.
At that moment, my heart is beating so hard against my chest that was almost impossible to calm it down. My breathing started to get fast as I can't stop thinking about both of them.
'Ugh!!! Feeling is the most complicated thing I had ever need to solve in my whole life till now ....' I silently think to myself.
*Ting!*
A notification popped out from my phone screen while I was still at war with my feelings. I swipe open my phone and saw it was Touma who send me a quick text.
'Yo, how was your day, Pancake? ;)'
The winky face that he types in the end never fails to crack a smile on my face. (I bet you guys are smiling right now~ LOL)I began to type on the keyboard wondering how were things going for him.
'Nothing much happens. BTW how was your mother? Is she doing fine?'
After waiting for a few seconds, he finally texts me back.
'My mother is stable for the time being. Can I call you through the phone right now?'
Without any hesitation, I give him a quick call. I waited for a few rings before he picks it up.
''Moshi, moshi, Kudo desu.''
''Ah, Touma-san, it was me.'' I stood up, heading towards the front door.
''Oh hey, Miyu-san...I just know what happens to your parents. I am sorry that couldn't be by your side when you needed the most...'' He said weakly.
Hearing him squeaking softly through the phone, I could feel that he was frowning on the other side of the phone.
''Hey, Touma-san.''
''Yea...''
''Can you smile for me, please? I can see you are frowning right now.''
''Eh?! You can see me?'' He sounds a bit shocked.
''Nope, but I can tell that you are so sad right now. Touma-san, can you be honest with me? How was your mother actually?''
There a pause before he let out a sigh. I can hear he was crying through the phone.
''I am sorry for lying, Miyu-san. My mother was been hit by the truck and right now she was in a coma state. My stepfather doesn't allow me to visit her...I-I don't know what to do right now....'' Touma cried from the other side of the phone.
***
''Miyu-san...I wanted to see her...'' I wiped my tears as I can't hold back my tears.
I watch her standing in front of the doorstep from afar. Pulling my hoodie up, I cover my head from the lamp post that's lighting up the street.
''Shh...There, there. You will feel better after you cry it all out.'' She smiled as she lookup towards the sky.
''I am sure that things will be better for you. What about we go and visit your mother tomorrow after school? I will try to talk it out with your father.''
''Really?''
''Of course, because that's what friends were for, right?''
Hearing that, my heartaches a bit. I paused for a while before nodding my head.
''Yea, you were right. Thank you, Pancake, for hearing me out.''
