Meeting the Protagonist

As Lumiere was practicing her magic, a certain individual was watching quietly from another room.

"Fufufufu, it appears my plan was successful, I can only hope Lumiere-sama can take this chance for herself."

If one were to see that individual, they would know that it was Lumiere's personal maid Stella!

That night, I stayed by Lumiere's side to watch her practice, while not getting any training done for myself.

When I woke up, I left Onee-chan by herself on my bed and went out to train.

There, I met Ren-senpai who had come out to jog along with me.

When we finished our short ten-kilometer run, I headed back home. Since it was the first actual day of school, of course, I wouldn't want to be late, less I get scolded by my homeroom teacher.

Changing into my uniform, Lumi and I walked slowly to school after breakfast.

When we arrived, it was about eight forty in the morning, since there was still some time left, we didn't need to be in a hurry.

Walking around, I could feel the gazes of both males and females alike. It must be Lumi who's getting all the stares.

We went around to a few places around the school so that Lumiere would get used to it. Since I knew where everywhere was, I had to pretend that it was the first time I've been here.

Though you can't really say I was here since it was through a computer screen.

Once there were only five minutes left, we headed to our classroom. Heading inside, we placed our shoes inside the lockers before swapping them out for indoor shoes.

Since the game was based on Japan, of course, the culture would be similar.

Moving along, we headed upstairs to the first-year area. Before entering the classroom that had a sign that read, '1-A', I glanced at the sign that I had seen many times from the computer screen.

Sliding the door across, and entering the classroom quickly so that I wouldn't block the door, I could see almost everyone in their seats already.

Finding my seat at the back corner by the window, next to Lumiere while being behind the protagonist Saito Ren, I placed my bag down on the side and waited.

Before my homeroom teacher (Onee-chan) arrives, I took the chance to try making friends with the protagonist.

Sitting behind him, I poked his thin and feminine back and spoke to him once he turned around, to reveal his beautiful face, which somewhat seemed more like a girl.

"Hey there, nice to meet you, I'm Hatsume Haruhiro."

"Likewise, I'm Saito Ren."

Even though he was the protagonist, Saito Ren wasn't a haughty nor, edgy person. In fact, he is just like those main characters in anime and manga who is kind and has some friends.

The only difference is that he is handsome along with that trait, he is basically the perfect protagonist, a dream for all women alike.

Looking at his face that was handsome, for some reason, I felt like he seems even more handsome than in the game. It must be my imagination.

"I hope we can be friends."

"Sure, it's nice to have a friend at a new school, do you want to hang out after class?"

"Okay, let's go."

Hearing his reply, I asked myself many questions.

Was he always like this? It seems the game and the real world are truly different huh, he doesn't seem much different though. I don't recall him being this outgoing, or having many male friends.

In fact, the male friends he had initially all got jealous and created a faction that aimed to oppose him from getting together with the heroines. Of course, I won't mention what the name of the faction is since it's a bit…

Anyway, let's get back to reality here. After introducing ourselves, I heard some girls on the other side of the classroom, making 'kyaa' sounds.

When I looked at them, I could tell they were looking at us with heart-shaped pupils. Don't get the wrong idea, it's not that they fell in love with us…

The sound of high heels could be heard, after the sound of a sliding door. Just by hearing the heels, I could tell that it was Onee-chan right away.

Standing behind the podium, Onee-chan or should I say Kurokawa-sensei looked around at the class. When we made eye contact, I turned away before looking back to see her giggling.

She then started taking roll call immediately after introducing herself. Even when she walked into the classroom, she had drawn the attention of the students due to her beauty that only paled slightly in comparison to Lumiere.

Of course, even though I may say that, others might say that Onee-chan's beauty is above even that of Lumi's, it really depends on preference.

Since my initials both start with the letter H, my name was towards the middle of the roll. After taking the roll, Onee-chan clapped her hands.

"Okay everyone, let's all begin by introducing ourselves. We will start in the same order as rollcall."

The first student went up and introduced himself along with his hobbies and a bit of his background. After that, other students went up consecutively.

Eventually, the two girls who were squealing when Saito and I were talking had their turn by volunteering themselves even though it was out of order...

"Hello, I'm Kubo Sakiko, I live with both my parents and a younger brother. My hobby is reading BL doujins!"

After saying that, I noticed she stared at me and the protagonist, once again making me shutter.

Sitting back in her seat, her friend went up next.

"I'm Ohara Rumi, I love reading BL doujin as well, I hope we get along!"

After her introduction, she sat down in her seat while all the male students felt a chill down their spine.

Finally, it was my turn to introduce myself. Standing up from my seat at the very back of the classroom, I walked to the front and stood behind the podium.

"Hello, Hatsume Haruhiro is my name. My hobbies include training and sleeping."

As I was about to head back to my seat, one of the girls shouted.

"Is that all?! Tell us more please!"

What's this? Wasn't my introduction enough? I wondered.

"Erm, what do you want to know?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

I almost choked when I heard her question. As soon as she asked, all the girls in the class's eyes were sparkling like jewelry while they stared at me.

For some reason, Lumi's was too, though Chisaki the first heroine didn't seem to care.

"No, I don't."

I answered her appropriately. It seems some of the boys were staring daggers at me while one even muttered a curse word.

Hey now, it's not my fault okay? Don't hurt me, please.

Since it seemed like that was all, I sat down in my seat next to Lumiere. After my turn was Lumi's turn, she walked up to the stage, as eyes started sparkling.

This time, it was the boy's turn to stare with excitement. Before she even got to the podium, a guy even shouted, "Do you have a boyfriend?!"

When she arrived there, she turned to face him and blushed before looking at me.

"No, not yet, I will soon."

"NOOOOO!!!!"

The boy who asked her started screaming with sadness. Meanwhile, I sat in my seat with a strange thought.

What does she mean by that? How come I didn't know that she liked someone, well she probably met some guy while I was busy training.

It couldn't be me after all, all I did was save her life, it would be too much of a cliche if girls were to fall in love easily. Especially one with such beauty as Lumiere.

Actually, why is she looking at me like that?

"Let me introduce myself, I am Lumiere Maria-Angela de La Virlen, my hobbies include reading stories and learning new things."

That's right, I forgot about her hobby, on the way home we should go to a bookstore and buy her some new books, I thought.

As I was thinking to myself, one of the female students suddenly asked her, "What's your relationship with Hatsume-kun? I saw you two walking together before."

Hearing part of her question, my eyebrow twitched as I came back to reality.

Before Lumiere could answer, I said, "We're friends, we've known each other for a while."

As I said that, I didn't pay attention to Lumiere. If I had done so, I would've realized that she looked quite sad.

The boys stopped staring daggers at me and sighed with relief when I said we were just friends, though I could still feel their hate for me which is probably because I'm an ikemen.

It's not like I could do anything about that, even if I could, I wouldn't.

After Lumi had her turn, more students came up before it was the protagonist's turn. Did I forget to mention that Chisaki already had her turn? Well since her last name is near the top, of course, she would be one of the first students to go first.

Standing behind the podium, the protagonist said his name and that he liked playing sports. It seemed that didn't change from the game, I still do wonder why he looks a little different from the game.

In the game, the protagonist Saito Ren was neither thin nor large, he was just about average. Now that I meet him in person, he seems to be somewhat thin.

Sitting in his seat, the rest of the class introduced themselves.
