Ironic how hearts that love always have to get broken. Like it's a stupid inevitable fate that can't change. Why love when it's definitely going to end in pain. Being a victim to the excruciating pain of love Rejiana Navison and her father decide that revenge is best suited love is no longer in the picture. They will be dead, all of them.
Rejiana Navison stared at the moon, her eyes watery, she was on the verge of choking but she still continued looking.
'Mama would be proud of me', she thought.
She smiled, pulling her hand from her pocket she ran it over her nose.
Looking over at her father she watched him carefully, he was taking small puffs off his cigar.
"You know your mother always used to say there's a rabbit in the moon", he chuckled getting up from where he was seated.
Rejiana looked back at the moon she couldn't see it yet but she hoped one day she would, all she saw was a light pigment of Grey in the moon.
"I now see it", he chuckled.
A smile made its way across Rejiana's lips "You guys are just old you seeing things".
Mr Navison chuckled slinging his hand over Rejiana's shoulder.
"I leave for school early tomorrow let's get over with this", Rejiana spoke.
Her dad nodded.
"May I?", she asked flicking the lighter in between her fingers.
"Go ahead", he ruffled her hair.
She rolled her eyes and walked over to the entrance of the hospital.
She knelt down where the trail of petrol branched through the building.
She inhaled deeply grinning frivolously.
With a flicker of the fire, she threw the lighter down and ran to her father.
After thirty minutes people were still screaming, they weren't calling any ambulances they didn't deserve to be treated, they deserved to die.
Her dad held his hand up, Rejiana gave him an ear to ear grin she palmed his hand.
"One down, the whole world left to go", Mr Navison said.
Rejiana smiled.
'Mama would be proud', she repeated.
__
Rejiana sat in her bedroom, tears streaming down her face, she buried her head in her pillow, she screamed into it, she slammed her hands against the bed, she kicked and yelled.
"Why?!", she asked herself for the millionth time in her life time "why".
Hot tears fell from her face "come back", she sobbed.
She tried not to but like every single night of her life, her mind took her back to that night.
Every time she relinquished her pride and everything that kept her sane, that night would come slipping in, through a locked door, a locked heart.
"No", she screamed.
She could hear her thirteen year old self crying screaming for help.
Rejiana shook her head senselessly "go away".
Noooooo she rolled off the bed and onto the cold floor she rolled across the tiles yanking at everything she came in contact with but that night still wouldn't go.
She tried fighting her thoughts but she only remembered her.
With no avail that night came back with full blast
6 YEARS AGO.
Rejiana was sleeping, her teddy bear in her arms.
She nuzzled her head in her best friend.
As soon as the front door opened, her eyes flickered open 'mama'.
She stood up, kissing her teddy on the forehead.
She peered in the corridor.
Tiptoeing past the bathroom, she continued down passing her parents bedroom and the sitting room.
When she finally arrived in the kitchen she saw her mother packing groceries.
Her curly blonde her dancing in a small bun.
She slyly crept up to her and tapped her shoulder.
Her mother gasped dramatically and turned around "I'm just joking you can't creep up on me sweetheart, I heard you wake up, that bed creaks way to much", she hugged her daughter.
"Don't worry mommy, one day I'll buy so many we would have a garage full of them", she smiled.
"Well you still thirteen, all I want is for you to stay healthy that's all".
Rejiana frowned she knew what was coming.
Her mother handed her a plate of broccoli.
Rejiana crept up to the bin and before spilling it out there was a faint knock on the door.
Her mother palmed her forehead "Richy how many times do I have to tell you not to knock", her mother walked over to the door "you're my hus-".
Rejiana skipped her way to the door "hi daddy".
When she had pushed past her mother she stood rooted to the floor.
Her hands shook meticulously, she hid behind her mother.
Richard Navison, her father had a gun pressed to his head a masked man held him firmly.
"Move", the man yelled.
He shouldered her mother and she fell backwards, Rejiana also being pulled back.
He chucked Richard to the other side of the room and told him to stay there.
"Mrs Navison it's a pleasure".
Getting up from the ground Mrs Navison pushed Rejiana out of the way "who are you", she snapped.
The man rolled his eyes "you don't remember, I'm a family friend, but your husband owes me some money and just won't pay me back", he whined.
"How much is it?."
The man shook his head "if you clearly had the amount of money he owed me then you wouldn't be living in this shack", he gestured around with his gun.
Mrs Navison then noticed the carbuncle ring on his finger "Jason".
"Great now that you know who I am, I can now take off this mask".
He threw the mask to the ground.
"This is Rejiana isn't it, it's been a minute".
Rejiana stared at him her eyes blown open.
"Don't you dare touch her", Mrs Navison ran up to her daughter, her priority.
Jason merely shook his head, he walked over to were her and her daughter were standing.
Raising his hand he used the back of his hand and threw a clap at her, he repeated the action three more times and finally pushed her out of the way.
He ran his hands over Rejianas cheeks "why are you crying?", he asked.
"your father deserves this".
He pointed the gun at Rejianas head, she sucked in a breath and screwed her eyes shut.
Her father got up and tackled Jason.
"Do not test me Richard".
Her mother got up and retrieved a knife from a cupboard.
She stabbed Jason in the foot.
"Dammit", he cursed he looked back at Mrs Navison and slammed the gun in her face.
She fell to the ground.
"Mama!", Rejiana screamed.
"Rejiana don't move".
Rejiana never felt so helpless so useless.
She couldn't do anything.
Her father and Jason where still fighting for the gun.
He kicked his father and stood up.
"I warned you Richard".
"Mama", Rejiana screamed.
He pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger.
Blood was everywhere.
Rejiana fainted with one last glance at her mother.
PRESENT DAY
"Mama", she let out a shrill cry.
She got up from the floor and rolled herself back into her blankets sobbing silently until she feel asleep welcomed by that very same night
