Chapter 72:
"Ava are you okay?" No response.
The piles of burnt buildings are clogging up the atmosphere. The smoke hasn't calmed down, because of the strong breeze from the sea. Lucien is suddenly on his knees, cutting a part of his cloth to cover Ava's nose.
"I'm sorry. I know this will make it harder to breath. But bear with it. Or your lungs will burst from all this smoke."
Ava did not even react when he wrap it around her small rounded face. There wasn't any strong features on her face. Her skin is alight, glowing, incandescent. The lines of her jaw is soft. Not hard. The cheeks barely protrude any of her bones.
There is nothing in her physique that suggests the monstrous ability her muscles can exert. She's stronger. Lucien thought. Stronger than me. But right now, she won't survive without me.
