Elie got up at the cries of his son, he quickly sat up looking down at the younger boy that seem to have endless sea like tears running down his cheeks.

"What's up buddy?" He said softly reaching to switch the lamp on.

"I-i w-want M-mama." He hiccup.

Elie felt trapped. Christy had decided to just stay at her mum's house like she always does when they had quarrels.

Elie sigh pulling his boy closer. "Mama is at grandma's, she won't be back soon." He said.

"W-why? Does Mama hate me now?" David asked, his voice sounding panicked.

"No, no, no. Mama will never hate her baby, she is just upset." He said.

"Papa?" A voice came from the doorway. Their both heads turn to stare at Deborah holding her teddy. "Can I sleep with you guys?" She asked while playing with her teddy's ears.
