THE STRANGE PHONE CALL

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT.

Lev's POV

As I looked at Thea, I saw how her eyes brightened up, a proof that the initial puffiness was actually tiredness.

"You were right, the swolleness is going down." I said to her.

"You see, I told you. You just insisted on being paranoid." She responded.

"Paranoia, is that what you see my concern as? I just wanted you to be fine." I sounded quite serious even though I wasn't upset.

"I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just saying it wasn't as serious as you thought. Well, thank you for the breakfast and the concern, Lev. Unexpected, but appreciated," Thea replied, sipping the hot beverage that was almost finished from the cup.

I leaned back, looking satisfied, "Anytime, Thea. If you ever need a personal chef, you know where to find me. We are definitely going to do this again and that time around, I'll make sure I cook some real meal."

"I can't wait." She laughed.
